How many times are they going to release the wrong build for something? Surely this is something that should be checked? For a whole platform? There should really be guards against this by now the amount it has happened

I think we can all take a guess to who made the 220 sounds considering how rediculously loud they are...

Just played this for two and a half hours.

    First impressions = MASTERPIECE

Well done Dovetail, this is already my all time favourite route on TSW, even better than WCMLoS in my opinion.

A few minor irritations but nothing major and the Voyager is an absolute dream and fun to drive.

This route was on my wish list for a while, so happy to have it and you’ve smashed it out of the park.

A bit dead but decent for now will give my full opinion after Xbox gets all the layers

I was just taking in the scenery to be honest, I think there will be plenty going on once the layers are added.

Voyagers are very loud in real life. It's part of the reason I like them so much.

I was very impressed with the sounds shown in the preview. I'm very excited to drive it next week.

There’s quite a few Gronk services included with the timetable (appropriate layers required) for those that fancy driving something a bit older and at more of a slower pace. :)

Anyone else getting a bug where after you stop at a station you can't get going again?

No racecourse at Newton Abbott. Can’t walk most of the sea wall either.

LOVE the scenery on this route. Water looks a bit funky but apart from that it's brilliant!

Not done the coastal section but I can say coming out of Plymouth with the Cucumber, climbing Hemerdon then cruising through the almost continual curvature in the evening twilight, was very zen. Perfect to relax and unwind before bed.

I'm sorta tempted by the route but I'm waiting for Spratty to release his track patch so it looks nicer lol

Have to say I was worried about this route with it being the one route I really wanted. I'm very happy with it so far.

Newton Abbot is where I come from and transpotted in my younger days and while the real station is a shadow of its former self, the modelling is pretty good. Apart from those annoying collectables that will forever appear on the platform.

Between Newton and Teignmouth there are too many trees particularly where the racecourse should be, but I'll let that slip as in general my drive in an HST from Exeter to Newton and back in a Voyager really did give a good feeling of the route. Particularly through Teignmouth.

For me this is one of the best launch routes so far and in general a much stronger line up than last year.

Having your local route in the game is both a blessing and a curse, as you notice these details where otherwise you would have missed them. I had the same with Zwolle-Groningen :)

Have to admit, not including the racecourse is a let down, I mean, it is somewhat of a landmark.

I'd not be best pleased if a route from Chester heading towards North Wales had the racecourse missing, in fact, I wouldn't bother buying it.

Am I right in thinking that this route in real life is mostly covered in fog because of the sea? Just checking so I know what to set the weather to when I eventually get it.

I read we cannot transfer any dlc’s until the full release. How did you get the class 33 on there?. Or is it a console only issue?.

Console only issue sadly, basically the console companies can’t be bothered to add content transfer during early access and DTG can’t be bothered trying to fight against it

I'm not going to buy this route at full price because it's either going to be on game pass in the coming months or I know I'll be able to get it dirt cheap in about 8-9 months time. I'm thankful that of the very few sales Xbox gets, at least the special edition always goes on sale the following year for about £20. Nothing really blew me away as I thought it would from the previews, but one thing I did see (this may be a nitpick) is that those green teleporter thingys from Cardiff City Network have made their return. When before DTG actually bothered to model the passage ways between stations, they now put a green teleporter to get to the other platform. Again this probably doesn't matter for most people but for me free roam just wont be the same when I have to teleport to adjacent platforms rather than a simple footpath being modelled. By the way I've got no clue what station it was at or if it is at a few stations but I hope they don't keep it up.

It was Dawlish Warren. Was there on holiday in the summer and wanted a walk around. Really annoying to see a teleportation icon. Totally lazy.

Just if you didn't pre order deluxe you don't get early access. I'm on Xbox and I got it.

Why would you wait 8-9 months to pick it up ‘dirt cheap’.
Each to their own of course, but I would say this is an excellent route, just from the short time I have played it. It offers something completely different to what we’ve previously seen on TSW. If having to teleport at a few of the stations is really make or break for you, then perhaps you might need to try another Sim.

    Quick question RE layers?
It's my understanding that the 66 sand trains use SEHS wagons or that was said on stream. But isn't the 66 needed from WCMLS?
That seems a little shady unless I've got my layers confused With what layers in from WCMLS?

Yeah you need the JNA’s from SEHS, not sure why they didn’t band them with the 66 from there too.

Do you know what DLC you need to layer in these services? I have multiple DLCs with the gronk but I don't have that loco to choose from in the timetable menu. I have all DLC I own installed [PC, Steam]. They're certainly the kind of services I'd like to play so I'm keen to know :)

That wasn’t what I was talking about, I have early access just can’t download my back catalog because of Xbox and DTG until the 30th

Has anyone noticed that if you spawn on foot at Plymouth there are no AI services. I tried it earlier and the specified timetable slot for the 220 just doesn’t appear. None of the services do.

At 75% off (on Steam anyway) it'll be even more worth it in May. It's how I got TSW5, so I still have some play time out of those core routes. Until then I'll get the Free Starter Pack.

    Had a couple of runs.
Nearly fried my graphics card though I did then see that I'd set the resolution incorrectly and that probably caused the green screen of death. Hopefully that doesn't mean my GPU is at the end of its life.

Thoughts on the route. I like it. I've not done a run to Paignton in Timetable mode yet but there are two separate entries for the ECS moves? This seems like a bit of a faff.
A small complaint, no walking along the seawall away from Dawlish station, no sitting on the beach and watching trains go by, in fact the invisible walls seem particularly restrictive in this release, noticed the dreaded "platform hop" at another station and half of the yard at Exeter is out of bounds too.

Would it really have been too much to allow us to go outside of the railway environment and have a little explore? It may not seem essential to game play but it does enrich the experience of being in a virtual world.

I'm 99% sure those house models date back to 'Rail Simulator' from 2008, I've seen a fair few assets be reused like that in many different routes.

Because as TSW is so expensive, I prefer to wait so I can get the routes really cheap, especially the special edition which, for TSW5, I picked up for about £20, might as well do the same thing for 6. This is mainly because I'm not desperate for the route. Also I never said it was the teleport points that break the route for me, I just called it out as I think it's a valid criticism. I do think the route looks really nice, just not £30 nice. Also if it does go on game pass in a few months then I would've paid just to play the route early.

I might start a "Tear down that invisible sea wall wall" campaign on here. Demand a "Digital Right to Roam" rule.

Here's what I have listed as layers as part of the 'complete package' for the route/its layers:

    - GWR Class from from Great Western Express
    - GWR Class 802 (comes with the route as standard)
    - GWR Class 150 (comes with the route as standard)
    - SWR Class 159 - EMT 158 from the MML route
    - GWR HST from Great Western Express
    - XC Class 220 (as part of the Deluxe package)
    - Paignton Heritage Stock - Peak Forest Railway and West Somerset Railway stock
    - Totnes Heritage Railway (standard AI) - West Somerset Railway and Class 33 stock
    - Totnes Heritage Railway (extra AI) - WCML: Preston - Carlisle
    - Night Riviera - WCML: Preston - Carlisle
    - Railtour Class 52 - WSR Class 52
    - Railtour Class 52 - Great Western Express BR Blue & WCML: Preston - Carlisle
    - Railtour Jubilee - Spirit of Steam
    - RHTT services - RHTT DLC
    - DB Class 66 Aggregates - WCML South and/or SEHS DLCs
    - DB Clay 66 services - WCML South 66 and TVL DLC
    - Class 40 railtour - Leeds - Manchester DLC
    - Flying Scotsman rail tour - Peterborough - Doncaster and WCML: Preston - Carlisle
    - Network Rail Test Train: WCL Class 37 & Preston - Carlisle route
    - Class 47 railtour - West Somerset Railway
    - HKA static - Great Western Express
    - Paignton Heritage Railway: Static Class 08 - WCML: Preston - Carlisle

As you can see, Tyler has done an amazing job at trying to get just about every service squeezed into this timetable, by utilising as many layers as possible :)

Same, but must include the German route with the same problem the one that the 103 came with

The collisions in general annoy me a lot in this game. Maybe its partly because in TSC you get a camera that can clip through anything, but I prefer that so much over what we have in this game. Its not even just the walls where you can walk even though they are also incredibly restrictive.

He's done a great job although I'm not sure using the WCMLS 66 when the whole aggregates layer uses the SEHS wagons was the right call? Unless DB livery is more prototypical than EWS? Just seems like a way of trying to get people who haven't to buy WCMLS.

Tbf I think they could've thrown the current 66 in with a freightliner livery as they do have the license now. I know it's a meme but People would've loved a freightliner 66 to break it up :) Although I know there isn't a great deal of services maybe that's why they didn't.

I have no idea about wagons if I'm being completely honest, but the WCMLS 66 with the big DB logo is correct for what I can see is many of the freight workings. I don't think its this way just to try and make people buy WCMLS as you may or may not think.

This isn't me saying that an FL 66 wouldn't be nice though, because it really would be. If they aren't going to give us a new freight loco for modern day, I would at least hope we can get some new variants of the shed.
