There is no requirement to keep older games installed if you are not going to play them. Just import your profile first to make sure you have it.
If you uninstall TSW2020 you lose access to NEC New York as it does not exist for later versions. If you uninstall all versions prior to TSW6, you will lose access to Peninsula Corridor, as it is unavailable for TSW6 - though an unbranded version without Caltrain logos will be available post-launch. Any other DLC you have ever purchased, you just need to install the TSW6 version to use it in TSW6.
Not necessarily true, at least on PC. You can copy the TSW 5 versions of the Caltrain content into TSW 6 and they work fine.
Hi Chrisreb Before you delete anything, you should import your profile from TSW 5 into TSW 6. Then you can delete all TSW versions. And once you're on the platform where you have TSW 6, you can re-download all the DLCs you have for TSW for TSW 6. This is because all DLCs have been modified specifically for TSW 6, so you will need to re-download all your DLCs. However, the Caltrain DLCs are not yet available for download in TSW 6. As far as I know, they will be available in October because they have to delete the Caltrain branding.
If this is a Steam installation, then you need to open Code: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 5\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC , then copy the files Code: TS2Prototype-WindowsNoEditor-SanFranSanJose.pak TS2Prototype-WindowsNoEditor-SFJMP36PH.pak TS2Prototype-WindowsNoEditor-SFJMP15DC.pak Paste those three files into the equivalent folder in Train Sim World 6.
I have just seen the replies above. How do you import your profile over? DTG Installing this is a joke, I shouldn’t have to reinstall everything. I really do hope it’s worth all this looooong drawn out reinstall
Profile import is easy, assuming you are connected to Dovetail Live. The first time you open TSW 6, it will ask if you want to import a profile. It will then give you the option to choose your profile(s) from the last time you played TSW 5, 4, 3 and 2. Click and it happens.
I've never even needed Dovetail Live, don't have an account. TSW just detects the existing save file on the physical drive from the prior game immediately on first run.
