Route Morristown Line New York & Hoboken - Dover - Feedback

I am pretty sure this is supposed to be a split highway (each side going one direction), if anything there probably shouldn't be a yellow line on the road. Common issue in TSW road markings.

 

You are correct on that . I believe that is route I-287 which is already previously filed on a Jira

 

Next time, please don’t preface the Journey mode with five introductory demo/training runs three of which were around the tedious Training Centre. Keep those separate for those who wish to make use of them.

And in the name of all that is good, stop switching the bl00dy coloured stop markers and objective cones back on each time on a training run. If I want them on, I’ll switch them on myself.

 

Hi vern how you find the alp46 alp45 and cabcar no matter what I do the brakes are always on a tiny bit even when fully released really slowing me down.

Not sure on that one. You have definitely pushed the brake cut in button? Otherwise all I’ve done so far is the silly once around the Training Centre. Also might be worth holding in release for a few seconds, keep an eye on the gauge needles.

 

Brake cut is active all gauges are how they should be. Happened on the training as well.

 

my ALP46 shows 16 kV as voltage at NY Penn for some reason, will try a different service and see if it helps

edit: update - first off, the voltage is shown as 16 kV all the time, when it should be 12 and then 25 going from NY Penn to Dover... the power does cut out at the appropriate spot (which I noticed by seeing dynamic brakes cutting out temporarily)... and other thing, having watched some streams, the loco selector shows NEC NY Trenton instead of Morristown, which might be just menu bug, but dunno... atm I am redownloading the DLC and see if that clears these issues (or it could be some early access bug/s)

just checked Matt's stream and he also has only NEC NY Trenton variant of ALP-46 in the selection... looks like that one is missing some functionality necessary for this route (tho as I remember the announcements worked, kinda?)... dunno, kinda confused now

 

another update - reinstalled this DLC, and now only the Morristown variant shows up in menus ... even when checking NEC NY Trenton selection, which is weird, but ok... at least now the voltage thing seems to work

 

This is exactly how it is in reality but I understand how this might catch a few people off guard if they didn't watch or missed that part of the preview stream

 

#6647 seems to have 2 services. The Summit one is supposed to be #6341

 

Just one more thing, a fair portion of the Dover yard moves aren't avaliable to operate as a player train and are AI only but some I can select, I have no idea why this is XD

Is there a Jira ticket for the HEP cabling on the 45, 45 and multilevels missing a wire? Additionally for the multilevel issues I described earlier (Trapdoors purely only functioning based on location of train rather than the "high" and "low" buttons on the door panels?)

 

6668 dover - New York. Stuck red light on Newark, I got stuck at a red signal, and I wasn't alone. Ahead, there were about 10 AI trains stuck on both tracks. Deleting the trains didn't switch the signal. It was as if the signals themselves were bugged.

 

The track numbers from lower hack to Milburn seem to be wrong. Track 1 is the middle track while 2 is the eastbound track and 3 is the westbound track

Basically on all standard US passenger cars, the HEP cables are two pairs of cables, one on each side. But the MultiLevels (And NJT locos) only connect one jumper on each side. Can also be seen when attaching an ALP-45 to a non-NJT coach. This has been an issue since NYT and am surprised that it was never fixed/corrected for the Morristown versions. See the image which I have annotated.


Additionally on MultiLevels, the gangway barriers on the Morristown versions are unclickable which is a problem for interoperability as some passenger cars don't share the same Gangway IDs despite them all being able to connect with no issues IRL. But currently even if the barrier is raised the collision is still disabled which at least still would allow the player to move between cars.

 

Not sure if this bug was already mentioned, but for the ALP-46 and Multilevel cab, the exiting ASCES/ASES territory alarm has no sound so unless you have the HUD on, so you will be penalized with no warning when required to press the ack button.

 

MAX1319 Just ran the 6668 myself and you get stopped behind another inbound train just short of Newark Broad. Went into the map and looked at trains ahead and they are stacked up at Carney. There are favorable signals ahead of the first train in the que. Continued tracing the route into NYP and there was a Dover - NYP train stopped just short of the platform. I deleted it as possible cause of all the issues, but this caused a UE crash.

 

I’ll be honest this one is going be a hard one to figure out. Sometimes just spawning 5 minutes before would make a difference. I know is ideal but might want to try spawning 5 minutes before the service starts and playing the service that way

 

I will give this a try. This service starts outside of Dover, and you bring the train in, so will give myself maybe a little more than 5 minutes so I can walk to where it is stopped

 

MAX1319, as I gave this issue with 6668 more thought and checked the signals in front of me and the trains ahead, noticed that they were stop and proceed, NORAC rule 291. I am thinking that the AI trains may not be able to cope with this type of signal, since when I quired the AI dispatcher it gave me a "denied wait for signal to clear". But I was able to move past it since Brandon had them set correctly. I am going to do some more testing of this idea and see. I waited so long checking things out, that by the time I got going again, my train was routed toward Hoboken and not NYP, so can't finish anyway.
It will be tomorrow, since my last save was to far past the arrival time at Newark Broad, I can't test this. Have to restart, and, when I do, will spawn early and walk to the train.

 

I am now trying to see if reinstalling NEC NYT fixes the variants not showing issue ... it not then I will just reinstall Morristown again, no big deal... and I understand that it is still early access and that there are bound to be bugs here and there... nice route tho so far... not exactly a racetrack, but reminds me a bit of Pfalzische Ludwigsbahn in that a lot of it is winding and such... loving the stops that are like in tight bends, houses nearby and street right next to it... havent yet tried the Arrow, but it reminds me a lot of South Shore Line trains I had ridden a couple times when in US - and those were almost street-running in some portions

 

So I had this issue during testing where the ALP46 from NYT would only show. So i removed NYT and went pack in picked a ALP46 service through the train depot on Morristown and loaded it. I then back out re dowloaded NTY. This should show the Morristown version again.is a temp fix until the patch can go out to fix this.

The train is scheduled to stop at Mount Tabor. However, it is on track 2 which has no platform. Since you aren't at a platform you can't open the doors and are stuck infinitely, making the service unplayable.

 

Did you try opening the doors on the driver's left-hand side, where the platform actually is? I feel like they talked about this in the preview stream.

 

That is normal just as it’s IR there’s no platform Eastbound . You open the doors to the left.

Platform PC

I have a strange one, please let me know if you hear this as well. When I take a service out of New York Penn, the sound in the tunnel drops suddenly. This happens after the gradient change from down to up.

Also, HEP control of the ALP45DP doesn't seem to work (if it does, let me know, maybe I don’t use the controls correctly).

 

When spawning on foot, the ALP-45DP engines are off even though the engine audio plays. Once you sit in the engineer’s seat and start the service, a whistle like sound plays and the engine noise cuts out, with the display showing the engines are off the entire time.

 

Thank you for your feedback. The “dump” noise and that alarm bell when the diesels shut down is a known issue and I will let DTG explain the reason for why is happening. I can tell you more or less is not something that will be able to be removed. As far as the display showing off the engines are off the entire time is normal as far as when is AI control since AI trains don’t have simugragh. There's is a known bug that even after you take over AI and start the engines the engines won't turn on so you are unable to take over a Diesel service from Hoboken. It does let you operate the ALP45 on electric mode. Hope this information is helpful

 

Without knowing about this problem, I managed to pass it by accident ...... but I prayed that I would be able to get under the wires by inertia and be able to continue, luckily it worked out ....... the first attempt ended in Summit at the end track, somehow no one told me to watch the switches and it wasn't under the wires either, so it was not worth backing out ... that is a really experience scenario, but at least we could laugh a little ......

 

Question about sunnyside yard why on the loop is 5mph then a very short 15mph then back 5mph. Thanks

 

I did the same thing. My settings for automatic switch changing didn't carry over during profile transfer. I have that setting on because irl someone would be doing that for you.

Multi-level Commuter Cab Car: I have a question, is the braking functional on the Master Controller? At least it doesn't work for me......not even the Introduction tutorial mentions it.

 

so if you are referring to dynamic braking on the Multilvels,It doesn't have Dynamic braking and that's per IRL. only works on the loco. the controller is the same stock controller used in the locomotives for parts commonality. The dynamic brake portion of the controller requires a comms link to be set up in order to work from the cab cars. It was never set up in real life, hence it does not work.
