A suggestion for a gameplay pack similar to the 170 pack for Cross City. A couple of repaints of existing stock, to add new services, and a new timetable that could layer in stock released since. Rolling stock Northern Class 150/2 Northern class 142: New playable services 2tph Manchester Piccadilly to Hyde North 1tph Manchester Piccadilly to Ashburys (very short service) ECS runs New AI services (mostly at Piccadilly only) 1tph Piccadilly to Buxton 1tph Piccadilly to Stockport 1tph Piccadilly to Sheffield (as far as Ashburys) 1tpd Stockport to Stalybridge (at Guide Bridge) 3tph Piccadilly to Euston (390) 2tph Piccadilly to Birmingham+ (Voyager) 1tph Piccadilly to Cardiff (TFW) 1tph Manchester Airport to Llandudno (TFW) Potential substitution for TPE services using 158/170/350 Benefits Twice as many playable services Serving two stations that have no timetabled services in TSW (Hyde North and Fairfield) and one that has very few (Gorton) Busier and more varied AI when driving Glossop services A busy and vibrant Manchester Piccadilly A pair of units that could appear in future routes, on similar services on the Manchester Airport route, and as AI at Doncaster and Retford on ECML
I like this suggestion very much, for a TOC with a big variety of stock such as Northern, and who are somewhat infamous for their army of Sprinters, it's kind of a shame that both Northern routes we have use the same train (as per reality, though) Does anyone know if these could also (theoretically) layer onto MAC? It makes perfect sense to me.
Yes, driveable 2ph between Piccadilly and Stockport (1 fast, 1 stopper), plus at least 4tph AI at Piccadilly.
The 142 isn't exactly the same year, but it's broadly the same era, and TSW routes tend to be set in broad eras - while the timetables might use a particular year, it's meant to be representative - it's not like we get a timetable for every year.
100% YES! The Glossop and Manchester route without any 142 Pacers is like Heathrow without Boeing. Im still flabbergasted they arent in the route at all. I think Glossop route is supposed to be 2020, which was the last year the Pacers ran on that line. Im also shocked that the base route didnt have any stopping services at Gorton, as during rush hour its one of the busiest stations on the route. The Glossop line needs a remaster of sorts and this suggestion keeps coming up.
Could you expand on that? It’s a brilliant suggestion, if there’s something wrong with it then you’ll need to justify why
I think Gorton is served by Glossop trains in the peak, but not during the day - only the diesel services, which aren't in the game.
Nah, almost all trains stop at Gorton, mostly the 150s or the electric 323. I can defo say an expert on that - I live here in Gorton
