No, this is nothing like rebuilding it in UE5. DirectX is just a set of APIs, and most PC players force DX12 anyway, if their hardware is up to it.

Anyone else finding an issue where when stopping at a station and completing boarding with no issues (voyager and iet) the brakes won't release after all doors are locked??

Why do people get so angry when they see a simple suggestion that isn’t even as big as changing to UE5 or at that any suggestion to update the game’s core in anyway as if it’s impossible.

Does anyone know if there's a keyboard shortcut for the driver-guard buzzer on the Voyager? 'B' doesn't work (neither does Ctrl+B or Shift+B). The in-cab button is functional.

    Some questions on scenarios:

    1. In the preview stream Tyler mentioned the scenario where you have to take an 802 to Laira depot for refueling where he said it is possible to fail by running out of diesel before you get to the depot. When I did the scenario I didn't seem to have any problem but drove very sensibly. Would this only happen if you went full throttle and oversped the whole way? I'm also guessing in reality that there is a way on the TMS to see your fuel level but I'm not sure if this is modelled in game? It is a good scenario for helping you appreciate how you can use the gradients to accelerate and decelerate without having to apply much throttle or brake.

    2. When doing the sea wall rescue scenario, as I approached Dawlish to stop before doing the coupling procedure there is a loud bang that can be heard that made me jump slightly as I wasn't expecting it. Does anyone know what that is meant to be? I'm on PS5 and it wasn't like the sound popping bug that I'm getting occasionally.

Yes, I posted on this elsewhere - an area of black/dark grey where the sea should be.

It's a good job too as I got 2 engine stalls (and a faulty door) all during a single run from Exeter St. Davids to Paignton....

Unless DTG patch this fast I'm just going to turn the feature off - at the current frequency it kills immersion rather than adds to it.

I had the same, I thought that's what it must have been! Didn't half make me jump

If you ever played BVE back in the day, there was a superb route called Heavy Coal created by a guy called Bruce Kennewell, fictional NSW route. That had a detonator explode under the train inside a tunnel. That really did make me jump, even on subsequent play throughs when you were expecting it.

So kudos to DTG for getting that in the scenario.

I’ve disabled random faults in my settings (and restarted the game etc) but I am still getting random faults. Is this a common/known bug?

Is that on the 150? I disabled them but was still getting stuck doors on the 150. Haven't had any with the 220.

Make sure to toggle the SDO switch on the cab wall panel to enable this feature with the Class 802/1. It's not 100% perfect, however it seems works in most locations.

The performance of most systems will be improved under DX12, but not all (those with a faster CPU and a slower GPU could be worse under DX12). I don't know how the XBox performs, and I don't know if you can turn DX12 off on a PC as easily as you can enable it.

I've got to say I'm incredibly impressed after being so hesitant and sitting on the fence with the Riveria Line...

After watching many of the previews and going through them with a fine tooth comb, I can honestly say the standard is exactly what I expect and more. The Class 802/220/150 all looking smashing bits of kit to accompany it too. The scenary is really eye catching and nice too. So I will be purchasing this tomorrow afternoon with Riveria + 220. Some real eye for detail and effort has gone into this route, and it really shows.

Second to that, I think it is really important on this note to recognise the work Rivet have put into this. It would seem finally, after many years the criticism from the community has been taken onboard and something has changed. I want to reach out and congratulate Rivet on this probably being their best route to date (and I mean that sincerely). I hope this is a new benchmark they are setting, and going forward this is the type of quality we can expect. The staff at Rivet have really pulled together on this one and made a bloody decent route. If this is the quality and standard I can expect going forward, I can say from here onwards the past is 'Water under the bridge' from my behalf. Well done to the team, and this is coming from one of your biggest critics of past work! Keep going and I hope in time you can do a 'Skyhook' and turn the image into something really positive.

I would also like to say I am extremely impressed with this years 'team effort', of working together as Devs to make a single product and all of its cogs work. AAB studio helping with the 802, Tyler from Rivet creating a fantastic matching timetable, and the work DTG have also done to help out... Going forward this should be the way to do things.

I've mentioned him a few times now, but I really appreciate the work Tyler has done since coming onboard and his eye for detail. I really think he has so much potential from seeing his work on this and BCC. He is also a very informative and knowledgeable chap to have on streams... Well done fella and as I always say, Rivet owe you a few pints!

Also, last but not least, the Class 220 sounds are pretty darn good given no recording trips could be made. Interestingly the Class 180 and Class 185 uses the same type of engines too!
Congratulations on a really good flagship route this year!

Looking forward to getting my hands on it tomorrow.

(Like with any DLC, I know there are a few small bugs at the moment but these are to expected and hopefully ironed out in the next few weeks)

I love this route but this is definitely my biggest gripe when the sea doesn’t load in.
