Did an entire session all the way to Hoboken. I was meant to finish on Platform 13. It sent me into 12. I was on time. Couldn't swap platforms due to red lights, so had to cancel the run.

Just coming into NYP with service 6332 driving from the cab car. Just short of the platforms at signal 406E, which was showing green, I got an overspeed, penalty brake even though I was going 12 mph in a designated 15 mph zone.

so that's is a know issue. what you got is a silent alarm that you suppose to get when you are leaving the PTC territory. It happened to Matt when he was pulling into Hoboken during the preview stream https://www.youtube.com/live/-N89AzA9v5k?si=X0owNBwjChULXIof&t=13019

Is there a bell on the Arrow? I couldn't find it. (DTG said in the Q&A thread that there is but maybe they misspoke??)

Probably already reported but if you chain services, the subsequent service shows the timetable from the first run. This got to be fixed!

Also, same bug with locos as it was on the NY Trenton- the loco headlights are left on if the AI finishes a service in it and then starts another one in the opposite direction (cab leading).

Long standing core bug. Even worse if you save and reload, then the objective data vanishes altogether.
Another one the EP promised was being passed to the hacker in Bangalore or Bucharest (sorry, "Engineering") to resolve, but wall of silence ever since.

It was actually working fine on TSW4. Never had problems with timetable when chaining services. (don't know how it was in TSW5)
The save and reload timetable bug is indeed a longstanding core bug.

Arrow doesn't have a bell as MUs aren’t required to have bells.

Just noticed this issue of light baking 3f5472b7-7626-4684-91db-89d7577ce5e8.png when I was at Penn Station on the ALP 46

PS5. Getting random but periodic crashes on Morristown line. Has been more consistent on the 657 Hoboken - Dover route but at random times. If it does crash on loading the route it will crash randomly on the route.

for me reinstalling the Morristown DLC made the Morristown version show as the only version, and now the NEC version doesnt show up for the NEC route :D not such a big deal, maybe a variant of this same bug :)

Does make a difference since the NYT ALP46 doesn’t have any of the new upgrades

I know the Morristown line route has quite a few bugs, but i have a question. Will the Arrow 3 trains be added as a layer to the Trenton-New York route? And will we be able to have a option for a 6-car train option for the arrow 3 on the Morristown line? i see certain ai have 6 instead of 4, i'd like a 6 car option. I hope both the 6 car option and arrow 3 can be on the Trenton-New York route. Oh and 1 strange bug i found, is that the Multilevel coaches cab car for the Morristown line has this bug where a orange texture covers the name of the location you're on route to when you move away a certain distance from the cabcar, i'll try to uplaod 2 pictures to show want i mean.

Service begins on an un-electrified track, making it impossible to start.

Hallo!

The ATC/ACSES tutorial says to put braking in "Suppression," but the ALP-46 has no "suppression" notch. How much reduction do I use?

There is a yellow box that says suppression that will appear under the speedometer.

Great. With manually lapped brakes- how useful.
    How many pounds?

    ----------------
Also, how do I recover from a penalty brake? My train is stuck now.

    ------------------------------
Edit: DTG REALLY have to adjust the brake controls on this loco- there is almost NO detent keeping the handle out of Emergency. It should require a positive push to get it past the notch.

TBH, I am hating this locomotive.

There IS NO goddam Suppression notch!

    ---
I popped the PCS, that's why I can't recover. The suppression light rather obviously in on, since the whole system is purged.

The overhead lines in the tunnels to/from Hoboken seem to be white and glowing when there's snow. Also in the tunnels there needs to be some kind of barrier added to block out the lights from trains in the other tunnel showing through the walls

Okay, I partially get it: the tutorial script was written for a completely different loco- even the description of the ICS display doesn't fit. I would guess the ACS-46. Anyway, this makes the tutorial as useful as tits on a bull: doesn't mention the suppression light nor how to handle the brakes (Jesus, I hate manually-lapped!)

Also, is it just me, or are the dynamic brakes on this thing completely useless? I just sailed past a station stop at 40mph with full brake on.

Overall, I just remembered the other reason I never touch Trenton: besides the screwed-up signaling, the ALP-46 simply sucks to drive.

Dynamic brakes are not used to bring a train a stop they are use to slow down for speed limits. For stopping you need to Use the automatic brakes.

I know that. But they still are used (or should be) controlling deceleration into the station- you don't want to go for Big Air a mile out. But they don't slow it down either. Not one little bit. I take it this POS doesn't have automatic blended braking like all German trains?

No it just lapped braking witch takes some practice. I still cant get the hang off properly. And dynamic braking works at between 15-50 mph its literally used to slow you down by say from 45 - 40.

I heard it too! On my first run, on low speed it was very distinctive thumping sound. Then it was gone on a different run on a different day. I thought I must have imagined it lol.
Yeah, I would like to get an answer to Louis' question - is it random? a bug? tied to specific car?

It's not worth learning. Manually lapped brakes are LOVEing useless.

Guess I'll just drive the Arrow on this route, and write off the ALP45DP as wasted money.

So you're saying you have to do fine speed control with the manually-lapped train brake? Yeah, right. AFAICT the train brake on this pig is nothing but an on/off switch.

On the flip side… I love learning and mastering the manual lap brakes. Challenges are fun for me. So, different strokes I guess.

    16 pound set is suppression.
Best thing really is just go watch fan railer's videos on you tube. He recently posted videos on Morristown, but for brake operations just watch the first 15 min of this video:

I understand how ATC/ACS-ACSES work. I love driving the Boston routes and LIRR2. The systems are not the problem- it's getting them to work with manually-lapped brakes and crappy keyboard controls (WAAAY too slow, except the frog-hair distance between service and emergency). Every goddam time I either get a penalty for being too slow, or overbrake down to 10 mph.

it just takes practice. Don’t be discouraged. Is one of the main reasons why I like it. The challenge. So don’t give it up. And even still sometimes it gets me

the PIS at Secaucus on the TT for the NJ coast line services is incorrect by having Newark broad street on the PIS instead of Newark Penn. The services that I have been affected are all South Amboy, and Long branch services. This is now in Jira

    PC Steam

Service 872 Multi-Level Commuter Cab Hackettstown - Haboken 7:16 AM

Impossible to complete. Upon arriving at Summit Station, you have to wait for an oncoming train on the same track, but once it passes, the signal never clears. I tried to contact the dispatcher, but to no avail.

Sorry if there is something misspelled, my English is basic.

I think this service has a manual switch that you have to switch manually after the AI passes. it won't do it for you. If you go to the 2d map view you can see it

Is the door closed light indicator not simulated on the Arrow? The whole panel looks lit at all times. (they do work on the ALPs so I'm surprised why it's not implemented on the Arrow).

PS5. These lights don't ever turn off/work on the Arrow III. I finally noticed the writing next to them and they look like they're for the doors, brakes, etc. But they dont turn off no matter if doors are open/closed, brakes applied/released, etc.

I find it amazing that some numbnuts at NJTA ordered brand new locomotives from Bombardier, but stipulated "No, we don't want your modern European brakes. Put obsolete antique brakes on 'em."

Hello, thanks for your response. I tried the service again with the same result. I tried what you said, but the manual switch option is not available.
