PS5 Audio Glitches.

On PlayStation on some routes and mainly during loading screens audio glitches and goes very high pitched for a second.

 

I’m having the same problem, I get some popping sounds on the menu screen but when playing I loose all sound but can still hear AWS & DSD coming through the controller.

It's very annoying

 

+1 on the noise. It's very jarring and has happened on both the routes I've tried. I've got a 5.1 setup and it's more likely to happen on the rear speakers but can happen on all of them.

 

My PS5 doesn't even let me turn 3D Audio on (the button to configure it is basically greyed out and doesn't do anything when I select it), so apparently my setup doesn't meet some expectation/requirement. The only stated requirement is to have the PS5 plugged directly into the TV, which mind is but the TV is in turn connected to a soundbar.

 

After getting this same advice from support I did head to audio settings only to find 3D audio was off already. I already knew it was as I never set it up but it was worth a look just to check. It’s a bit like the advice to unhook your caravan from the back of your car when the engine’s playing up and you can’t get up the hill, especially if your car doesn’t even have a tow hook. It certainly isn’t a workaround.

 

I turned off the "3D audio" and the glitch still here.

 

I'm losing all sound after a couple of minutes of walking around and now when trying to drive.

DTG Matt What's the latest on getting this issue resolved please Matt? I've avoided playing the sim or making any videos just yet due to the issue. A shame really as I had some TSW6 promotional stuff planned for this weekend too.

Jamie's suggestion has my sound back, but strange sounds still happening at irregular intervals.

 

This should have been fixed already or should have been fixed before release, we shouldn't have to be still working around this sound glitch, but I have to say turning off 3D audio helps to actually hear game audio, with 3D audio on you can't hear any of it, but it does not help with the sound glitches. They're very much still there particularly during loading screens and every few minutes while playing the routes. Very annoying as a PS5 player, I hope you'll solve this today.

 

I've just asked on the dovetail discord channel. More than likely the audio issue on PS5 won't be patched for TSW6 release tomorrow. I understand some issues maybe not straight forward to fix and patched quickly but on this occasion this issue does make the game unplayable.

 

Well, of course some issues aren't straightforward to fix but this is just very annoying and Dovetail should be embarrassed! It's not even the first time they show to the world that they absolutely do not beta test these games but also that they don't care about anything but money. And there are still people, me included, that keep paying to buy their less than half-baked products. Unbelievable...

 

For the sake of not having another rant, I’ll just kindly thank the people who are relaying info from Discord to the forgotten forum and acknowledge the lack of a timely fix.

Incidentally, anyone care to have a guess at how many posts there have been across the entire forum by DTG staff today (by 16.25 BST). It’s zero posts. Zero.

 

It's mad to think there's been 5 days of early access, the audio issues being one of the 1st major issues hilighted also, yet not 1 single conformation of it being fixed before full release tomorrow.
I dont know whats more deafening. The sound issues or the DTG silence.

 

On another audio issue post DTG Chris responded on Friday but nothing since. Was supposed to be an update later that day but didn't happen.

 

I dont understand why they need to send it to QA first, when they could of just released it on the early access. Also, wouldn't QA pick up the audio bug in the first place before the EA release?

 

For me it's a major bug. The fact that the audio issue won't be fixed by main release tomorrow isn't good. Even on the dovetail discord channel today DTG have been fairly quiet.

It's not good. People on the discord channel mentioned about speakers being damaged due to the popping and crackling, I don't know how true this is.

 

It's just not good enough. Here we go again. I pay nearly £100 for a game on early release, not to mention the hundreds I’ve already spent on other routes and trains, but the game is not ready for release. I just feel we're not being taken seriously. Disappointing—it happens on the best route that has been released in a while, too. I've gone back to playing TSW5.

Yeah. 1 of my headsets has stopped working properly. Haven't been able to play it since in fear of it happening to my other one

And that's exactly why I didn't bother with the Sim after giving it a try on Friday night. I'm normally very supportive of the team but this is a bit much this time. I wonder if some kind of compensation would be considered for people who have missed out on early access due to these technical issues. I wouldn't say no to a £30 PSN top up voucher for example.

 

I'm the same. Paid for early access and TSW6 has been sat there. Great to have new features eg announcements but to play the game you need the sound off. I watched the stream that Matt did and the audio issue was mentioned. Matt said he had the volume quite loud on his PS5 and he said the popping sound was horrific. Was hoping that would push to get to get the audio issue sorted.

I swear, why do I get the feeling this is gonna end up like the blurry textures last year?
"Yeah, we'll fix it soon, don't worry..."
Then they release an update which only makes things worse and then they go quiet and say:
"Um, actually we can't fix this one, oopsie! What a shame for you PS5 players! We don't really care anyway!"

 

Also another post I had left at 3 PM BST was simply left on read by moderators... They were probably too scared to let it go through because I spoke the truth!

 

DTG Jamie DTG Alex DTG Matt any ideas of when this sound issue will be fixed? Will it be fixed before official release? Any statement on what you are doing currently to fix it? Stop being radio silent. It's frustrating.

 

Supposed to be an exciting day, getting the rest of my content but unable to play because of the audio issue. DTG will have more annoyed players today when they hear the audio issue.

 

The xbox audio popping hasn't been fixed since the launch of tsw 5, still isn't in 6 either.

 

Yeah, I read about that on here as well. I guess it's just gonna end up with these sound glitches on PS5 and XBOX until we eventually and inevitably get a new franchise after TSW and DTG are just gonna keep silent about it.

 

I usually don't write comments and post on the forums like this but I've had enough about DTG now. I won't stop complaining until it's fixed. And we all must keep bringing this up until it's fixed because if we go quiet, they'll act like this issue doesn't exist and never fix it.

 

As the Playstation problem is relatively new, then they may be able to fix that one quickly. Whilst I'd like nothing more than for the audio problem to be solved on Xbox, fingers crossed for a speedy resolution for PlayStation players. For me personally, audio distortion just takes a lot of fun out of an otherwise very enjoyable game.

 

Yes, it's very frustrating and annoying. But the XBOX audio issues probably started like this too, no? That's why I'm afraid PS is gonna end up in the same situation. I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

 

DTG Matt DTG Alex DTG Jamie DTG Harry sorry to tag you all but please give us an update to the audio issue on PS5. At least make launch day better than the early access experience.

 

Yeah it would be nice if there is some sort of information and a fix as soon as possible. Especially these cracks are extremely loud and you always nearly fall off the couch as they come unexpected. And recently tried to find the 3D Audio setting but there is no setting like this in the game. Playing on TV - PS5

 

Unfortunately, yes they did ignore it. There has been various xbox audio issues over the years. They did manage to fix the "jackhammer" problem. However, not the popping and crackling.

 

Looks like a patch later this week for the audio issue on PS5. Just put on the discord channel. Also now on the forum.

 

Another update. Sounds very good news.

 

So... It should be fixed? I'm downloading the update now and will write a post once I've tried it.

It appears to be fixed at first glance. Didn't hear any sound glitches in the loading screens.

Can anyone confirm if this has been fixed in game now too? Before my other headset gets ruined

 

I won’t be loading up for a good while yet as I’m downloading a huge amount of my content first. I had started the process before I read that the game update had fixed the audio.

 

I will be getting the update later along with my content. If no one has responded if the audio issue has been sorted in game I will post later.

 

Audio seems to be fixed. No issues so far in like 20 minute run
