Anyone else having issues with the temperature challenge? I drove a few services within the range and they didn't register.
The only thing I've had issues not registering is guard mode, but every previous time I've had something not count up it's still done it in the background and caught up with itself (or said that I've completed the monthly mastery even if the bar isn't full), so hopefully that is happening here. Having said that, I don't think those guard modes counted for temperature either, but previously when it's asked to complete timetables under certain conditions, guard timetables haven't counted, so that doesn't bother me that much
Well I demolished the Conductor ones, as suggested by doing a Cardiff to Cogan run on CCN, saving before the buzzer at the last stop and just reloading 9 more times. So that out the way can concentrate on the fun part, going through outstanding Journey runs on my various routes and finding timetables where the temperature is 10 to 25C, not particularly hard.
Im Zeitplan kann man zumindest bei der Steam-Version die Temperatur durch Einstellen des Datums ändern. In the schedule, at least in the Steam version, you can change the temperature by setting the date.
The counter for the temperature challenge was broken, today it suddenly kicked back in. Had already completed 10 services. Now all that's left is 400 km to drive.
I had an odd one too (ticket sent to support). I completed a run from Preston to Carlisle which I started on Tuesday and finished yesterday evening, but it only credited the 12 or so miles I drove yesterday. The bits I did on Tuesday and Wednesday did not show up (should have been over 90 miles in total) and are also missing from the logbook. Only thing I can think of, is in the meantime on Wednesday and Thursday I did a couple of short runs on my PS5 version of the game (same Live account) and that has somehow kicked out progress on the PC. Hopefully DTG can sort it as 80+ miles is a significant chunk to do again!
Trouble is, it can get a bit grindy and you end up actually resenting playing the game. I normally like to divide my gaming time around two or three titles but pursuing the mastery means my poor old crops in FS25 are getting neglected, the industry spurs in Run 8 are blowing tumbleweeds and my driver has frozen to death out on the ice in Snowrunner!
This time round i done 10 separate conductor jobs on different routes some where boring some where quite fast paced. Next time I will use the save method and cheat.
As long as you save and quit to the main menu, it should count the distance up until that point. I finished off the 400 miles last night, Mastery complete nice and early for a change!
The problem is that the conductor mechanic is quite buggy. Several of my conductor services did not actually end at the end and a few others could not be started. Combine that with some Dovetail Live problems and it was a nightmare. Probably did around 20 to have 10 counted properly. Of course DTG could have chosen something else for this mastery, but they love to shoot themselves in their foot hilighting what is broken just before releasing TSW6.
Definitely something odd totting up the mileage. Just finished a run on Semmering which should have added @70 km, but only seems to have advanced by about 20km, which is what I did loading in from my last save and finishing the run.
Ideally it would have already counted the intial 50km when you hit save, but it makes sense not to count previous distance from a save file, as it would mean you could cheat your way through this challenge as well as all the others.
It’s never been an issue in the past and there’s no way I would get time to do a 90 minute run in one session. Guess I’ll have to wait and see what Support have to say about it and in the meantime back to good old LGV Med or HRR to rack up the mileage in 30 minute bites.
Anyhow, completed and in only 10 days this time. Probably my swansong in TSW5 too as just over two weeks until we get our paws on TSW6 so time to say farewell to the rocky road that was 5. Do some farming, do some Zusi, maybe some Snowrunner and wait for 6 to land.
btw a tip with the conductor thing when youre very close to completing the conductor service make a save game of that and then keep redoing that save game untill you get the 10 conductor challenges done
So, completed the mastery last evening. Managed to complete the mileage goal without excessive grinding, still only 13 days in
These missions were registered for me, but the kilometers completed repeatedly did not appear, but suddenly it appeared that the monthly challenge had been completed.
Apart from having to save scum Conductor mode this month’s was probably one of the easiest. 400 miles is really no challenge at all, so long as the totaliser behaves itself. Maybe it’s time the MM went two tier, with a second section that has much more challenging objectives. How about 250k AP and 1200 miles driven?
Haven't this already been confirmed as coming for the next year's worth of monthly masteries? The biggest bugbear for me is how often I have to raise a support ticket to unstick one or more parts of the monthly mastery. 5 months out of 9 so far this calendar year.
Totally agree. Second tier should be a thing. Just don't start the count at zero miles when unlocking the second tier (as it does now)
I hadn’t actually read that but good news then. Hopefully the prize will be something more than a decal most of us never use!
It was in the Roadmap, but more to the point for you personally it was in the September mastery thread that you posted to several times!
Please, please no more conductor mode for mastery - it's just so tedious. Conductor mode in theory was a good idea for a game mode (and something I would enjoy) but, until it gets a major upgrade, then no thank you!
Well, I've earned all 12 stickers, so thought I should put them on the signature locomotive in Train Sim World...
I feel your pain, the only time I have done a conductor run has been to complete a mastery. I did find one run on the new Germany route where you do nothing - no doors to open, no tickets to check…just a nice ride and it counts toward masteries. And if youn really want to just check the box to clear the item .. just save coming into the last station… lather, rinse repeat…..
Tier 2 is not particularly challenging, all that seems to have happened is some really easy tasks in Tier One and the original difficulty level in Tier 2. 350 miles is not that hard to get with a couple of runs on ECML followed by your personal favourite choices.
I ticked off one timetable >100mph by doing a run with the 802 on Riviera line. The stretch between Starcross and Marsh Barton has a section with a speed limit of 100mph.
Agreed. Tier one should be (three) challenges that are easy to do. Tier two should really be next level. Like the 1000 mile challenge from early this year.
Yes I quite enjoyed that 1000 mile one - even if it did mean most of my gaming time for the month went on TSW. Even 750 miles would have been more of a challenge than 350.
TBH level 2 is skewed anyway. Seems to be an obsession with doing runs over 100 MPH, yet two of the three routes released with TSW6 don't support this (don't really count the short stretch on South Devon). So we are forced into our back catalogue of DLC, at which point doing 5 runs over 100 MPH, unless you cheat and use the Watford to Harrow 377 jobs on WCMLS (which requires a bit of speeding) you are rapidly going to use up that 350 mile target. Next time, please put a bit more thought into it - this is several times we have had the 100 MPH objective, in a game that is dominated by start/stop commuter services rarely getting up to more than 75 MPH.
or the other solution is that you make youre own custom scenario and then add no stops at all ive tried that and it works perfectly fine
For the collectible, it would be great if TSWMania, would once again publish it's guides for the last of TSW5 trainset, as well as the latest with TSW6 Those guide are the best
I did manage it on the new routes. A few runs in the 802, one in the ICE-T and one in the 442 (express service where you reach 160 kph) did it for me. The last one was the 'shortest', the others take an hour. So no nice short runs to get this one, unless you use older routes.
I picked up the route tasks on Rapid Transit, using the guide from TSW mania. It helps if you have some old routes with collectibles still up for grabs . And yes, they are the best guides.
