A voice and the sound of a train can be heard not far from Seefeld in the direction of Scharnitz! Does anyone know what it could be? Best regards!
The only nearby railway line is the unterinntalbahn from Kufstein to Wörgl. Could be very possible that they have created a background sound for it. I dont think its a leak or something
Just to respond to the OP, I rode out to Seefeld and definitely heard the "hissing" noise, possibly a brake release, and also unintelligible speaking. There is also a machine hum in the background. If this is just supposed to be ambience, it is certainly a strange choice. Hard to believe it is an Easter Egg though. It is about 1.1 km North of Seefeld. There is a bridge over a very narrow roadway. That is where I heard it best.
I have not noticed this yet Where along the route is it? Gotta check it out later when I'm back home. The strange sounds near Seefeld I heard before, but very weak because I mostly keep the camera inside the cab when driving. So I thought nothing of it. Gonna check that out later too.
This can be seen just west of Klais. There is a small level crossing and then a field with "live-action" cows. The letters are in that field. It is on the left, south side of the tracks, when heading direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
To me this sounds like ambient noise coming from a carpenter´s workshop. The hissing noise could come from a circular saw or grinding or sanding machines. The voices must come from the workers inside. But I also couldn't understand them. Just talking bubbles.
I finally had time to check both places myself. The building with the noises does sound to me as if there's some machining going on in there. A constant humming noise, muffled unintelligible shouts and occasionally some air pressure venting. Could be anything, but I don't think it's necessarily train- or even steam-train-related. Today this building seems to be a cross-country skiing club, what it was back in 1989 I don't know. The inscription near Klais is more intriguing, in my opinion: Gotta agree with simontreanor81 that this reads like "SGE", but I can't come up with any good ideas what it might mean. Love a good mystery
This is unlikely to be a hint for anything TSW related. "SGE" is the acronym for the "Eintracht Frankfurt" football team. I guess Lukas is a fan!
Could well be. He's from the Frankfurt area, isn't he? Now that you mention it... yes, also a possibility The middle letter looks more like a 6 or upside-down 9 than a G. Edit: The Emsland Railway carries the line number 395... in the mid-70's it was one of the last German routes with regular steam traffic...
Now, because I had read it as S6E, I had originally thought it might have something to do with S6 and Essen. To me this also fit because of another hint about a HRR remake. I like the 395 interpretation though. But, we need more information!
If it really hints at this, I think I'd be a great route, but to make it really work they would need to release 2 steam engines probably (one for passenger and one for freight), I mean I won't complain if they do, but I think some sort of Loco dlc is more realistic at first for a return of steam.
Interesting idea, but this doesn't "feel" like TSG for me. Although doing some S-Bahn S6 line would tie in well with the upcoming 420 That's what I thought as well. While the blue/beige 218 would fit on this route and in this era (just barely), we'd need at least two steamers... let's say a 01.10 for passenger and a 43 for freight services, since both are not very interchangeable. And considering the state of steam in TSW, I doubt even TSG would put so much effort into one route as to create two steam engines. While the idea is nice and the route would make a great addition, it would also go contrary to the other eastereggs found along Mittenwaldbahn, hinting at a route located rather in the southwest of Germany, in Baden-Württemberg.
Not the worst idea. I forgot that the route is a couple of months old already, so the easteregg might well refer to something we already got in the meantime
I think they said that some of the ideas from the Community aren't completely wrong, but they said that the hints at steam have a good reason.
I don't know any TSG programmer that well to say if this is true or not, but currently the most plausible theory is that "SGE" simply is the acronym of the "Eintracht Frankfurt" football (soccer) team. Some members of TSG seem to be from this area and/or are fans. It could also be a hint to the then-upcoming S-Bahn Frankfurt route, which includes the station "Frankfurt am Main Stadion" near Eintracht's home stadium I think this has been noticed and discussed in another older thread too. It might hint to the Höllentalbahn as the upcoming TSG route. Pro: -The BR 85 steam loco was designed and built especially with this route in mind and managed almost all services on it during its time. So TSG would have to create just one single steam loco for a pretty realistic timetable. -It would fit the other hint about the next route being located in the state of Baden-Württemberg, and is arguably one of the more scenic and interesting routes there. -The length of this route (about 75 km) would fit quite well in the scheme of other TSW routes. Contra: -The heyday of the BR 85 on the Höllentalbahn were the 1940's and 50's. I can't imagine TSG being bold enough to have the route set during WW2, so it would most likely be a 50's timeframe. In any case, we would not have any appropriate rolling stock for either ingame already. Any rolling stock would have to be created from scratch. (The Umbauwagen and Gs could perhaps be used, but would need some redressing). -As Alyx193 already pointed out, there's just one single BR 85 left, and it's a non-functional museum piece at Freiburg. While this gives a good reference point for a 3D model, there's no way to gather some accurate sounds for the loco. And the various classes of steam locos indeed tend to sound very different. I'd very much like getting the Höllentalbahn. But if that's really gonna be TSG's upcoming route, I think they'd set it in the late 70's or early 80's out of practicality. Most of the rolling stock they already made for Mittenwaldbahn and the E94 pack could be put to good use then... plus perhaps a period-appropriate version of the upcoming 140 (maybe even a 139?).
Wouldn't be I think all that difficult; the 139s were 140s modified by the addition of dynamic brake systems taken off retired 110s; TSG or DTG could do exactly the same thing, add 110 electric braking functionality to the 140. IIRC, the Höllental used 139s exclusively, because 140s/141s couldn't deal with the grades.
Hopefully this real, honestly I don’t care about quality at this rate I just want new steam that’s not that damn blue puff ball
Well, of all the 3P studios TSG is probably the best positioned to make alterations to aspects of Simugraph,* something which is usually hands off to outsiders, given their very close working relationship with DTG. Not only does Lukas wear both hats, but TSG have been deeply involved in the development of a lot of German content released under the DTG brand, not just their own. *I suspect Simugraph required some tweaks for the 101 Expert
