I am not gonna buy tsw6, for now.. Tsw5 is good for me, I mean yeah, Leipzig - Dresden is really cool, but the peformance is definetly gonna be worse than ever and then I cant even run it. There also gonna be alot of bugs and things you know... I will buy tsw6 if they will do something to that peformance, cuz now its worse than ever.
Get the free version. You don’t need to use it but it’s there if you want to buy a DLC in the future.
I actually do plan to keep TSW5 for a long while but also got TSW6 Deluxe just for the content it comes with: Riviera and Dresden Leipzig, The routes are very good, if you don't like Leipzig, although it runs fine , at least get Riviera and Voyager in order to actually feel the jump for TSW6. If you just do a free upgrade its absolutely worthless as you have the exactly same engine and TSW5 and no new features either.
Players: we don't wanna buy the same game every year! NO WAY! Devs: here is the free core update for yall. Players: NO!
I grab the starter pack but usually don't start playing and definitely never buy until after the winter update fixes a bunch of the launch bugs.
Likewise, the starter pack plus any forthcoming DLC will do me for the time being. I'll buy the Special Edition at some point later this year, but not while the new core routes and new features are still in beta.
Yesterday I did a run on TSW6 Dresden - Riesa (yes the old one) on Xbox Series S, the framerate is better then it is on TSW5, so I would say, TSW6 is worth a try.
From my experience the performance has been better on TSW6 than TSW5 so surely that is a reason to get 6.
I’ve taken the free upgrade now as it’s time limited offer, but until a route I want comes up, a major patch for TSW5 routes comes out or a big sale I see little point in installing TSW6 especially as most my played routes are heavily modded and /or using modded timetables which probably will have broke with 6
if the peformance on tsw6 is actually better than tsw5, does this also covers the compatible routes, like tsw4 routes, because I want to play semmeringbahn but the peformance is so bad that I almost can't run it.
Hello, as our fellow members have already advised, hopefully you can give TSW 6 Starter Pack a chance and grab it while it's free! More information here for those interested: Train Sim World 6 FAQ – SUPPORT CENTER
Same feeling, I just don't care to bother with it, especially while it's brand new. I don't care to discover new UIs and new glitches. I don't care to discover bugs that impact older content, especially before I'm finished with them. I'm happy with TSW5 for now. My installation is stable and performs well, I've gotten rid of all the stuttering, so instead of getting TSW6 I splurged on 6 or 7 less recent routes in the Autumn sale. I might give it a try six months or a year from now, if it sounds like it's stable and working well. I'm also much more interested in upgrading my PC hardware than upgrading the game engine.
It’s literally the same game with the colour changed on the UI. And it’s free. Except TSW5 is dead in the water and TSW6 is where any future patches will go. Knock on wood so far 6 seems to run better than 5 for me - often that’s not the case with new TSWs.
It's really a shame not much has changed since TSW5. I just installed the free version and TSW6 runs better for me as well, so I guess that's a plus.
Hello, The performance has definitely improved with TSW 6. However, it would really be great if all the bugs and issues were finally fixed. For years now, the large number of reported problems has been ignored. Older routes also never get any updates or improvements. Many features only work on the most recent routes. We have so many great routes by now, but with every new TSW version, the older ones fall behind because they’re simply no longer up to date. So I sincerely ask DTG to take care of the older routes and make them enjoyable to play again. greetz
But whether you download the free version or not. It means you can transfer all your DLC and not be worried about needing them when purchasing a bundle or DLC later in the game
I didn't notice any performance boost on an old routes. Morristown is good optimized, Riviera is amazingly optimized. Thats it. Its just a new content optimization, not a core. Dresden - Riesa part runs worse then in TSW 3-5. It's full of micro-freezes and minor fps drops.
