First things first - I know that this route is already very resource-intensive, and this proposal would need both the route and the game to be majorly optimised. But I understand that's a priority in the game, so who knows right? The route has so much potential. So here's what could be done, on top of the usual TOD 4/Guard mode/Announcements/Faults/etc Minor extensions It's always been a shame that the S-Bahn services can't go to the low level platforms at Munich. This would make the route feel more complete, add a cool underground station, and a neat walkway between that and the main concourse. At the other end, an extension one stop to Augsburg-Oberhausen would allow the full yard at Augsburg to be rendered, allowing shunting moves, and add extra stops for RE and RB services. New rolling stock The best choice would be the DB 440 "Fugger-express" units (stop sniggering at the back), which ran the route's RE and RB until they was recently privatised, often splitting/joining at Augsburg. This type of unit is also seen elsewhere in Germany, so has re-usability. Timetable This is where the route could really grow, with new and improved services. Playable along the route 1tph+ ICE (as now, but with ICE1s and double-length ICE3s alternating) 1tph IC/EC (2tpd using the Taurus and Austrian stock from Semmering) 1tpd TGV 1tpd IC, which splits/joins at Augsburg - the first half runs to/from Munich-Pasing behind a 101, bypassing Munich Hbf. The other half is pulled by a 218 off route at Augsburg. 0.5tph ICE-T 2tph RE/RB using the 440, and sometimes the 111+Dostos. Many of the former services split/join at Augsburg Hbf. Extra services in the peak 3tph S3 Munich to Maisach using the 423, at least 1 of which continues to Mammendorf. Extra services in the peak Short services at the Augsburg end (using the 642) 1tph Augsburg(-Oberhausen) to Mering 2tph Augsburg(-Oberhausen) to Augsburg-Hochzoll Short services between Munich Hbf and Munich-Pasing 12tph more S-Bahn services (423, sometimes 420) 2tph RB/RE towards Garmisch (442 or 111+n-wagen) 2tph RB/RE towards Buchloe (612 or 218+n-wagen) Seasonal ICE services to Garmisch (1-2tpd) AI summary Frequent diesel services in various directions at Augsburg (612/628/642/218+n-wagen) 9tph more S-Bahn services at Munich (423, sometimes 420) 1tp2h ECE Munich to Pasing but not stopping (ICE-T the best alternative) 3tph+ ICEs north (ICE1/ICE3) 3tp2h IC/EC/RJ towards Rosenheim (mostly 1116+OBB, some 101+DB IC). Some of these start at Augsburg 1tph RE to Salzburg (111+Dostos) 1tph RE to Muhldorf (218+Dostos/628) 1tp2h ALX to Prague (Flixtrain would be a good sub for this, if not 182+n-wagen) 1tp2h RE with 101+IC stock heading north 3tph RE/RB towards the north (111+Dostos/146+Dostos/442) 1tph BRB (3x642) Plus extras in the peak plus some occasional daily IC/ICE services.
Nice suggestion, of all the German route that are ever made in Train Sim World I also hope this one would get a remastering, especially an expansion in the S-Bahn network . To see the full potential! One thing that caught my eye during the TSW6 trailer was the Munich HBF station. Maybe they're already working on it or it is complete coincidence, although it remains speculation.
Munich anything would be nice... tho I would prefer sth more with Hamburg... I mean, one of the busiest if not the busiest station in all of Germany and all we got is one route (tho it is great, especially with the addition of 218)... soooo... now that we got Frankfurt proper and Leipzig, Munich, Hamburg and such should get their spotlight (also Berlin and Stuttgart (I know we are getting this one later on, but I would LOVE Stuttgart21 at some point)
Would love to see Munich again in TSW, as this route has so much more to offer, especially now with the new rolling stock.
