So the route is 3rd Rail, set in the south of England and set some time after 1997 when the yellow triangle warnings were introduced.

Very nice. I know this is kinda thread hijacking, but please add TrackIR support, it really makes the gameplay much better.

Nice! What is it? Chatham to Rochester? ;)

Nagging aside, finally something more modern and also electric from the UK, both of which being things I've been waiting for since I first tried TSW :)

I see the "1000 pound penalty" warnig isn't there. Anyone knowing when this was introduced? Or do indeed not all crossing have it?

Considering their abundance in the south, I'd put my money on an Electrostar or Networker. Maybe also a 455.

Nope. It's Chatham halfway through the tunnel to Rochester. It would take way too long and cost too much money to take the route all the way between Chatham and Rochester. That's a pretty far distance. And the Chatham-halfway though the tunnel to Rochester route well hit Steam and the DTG store at the incredibly low price of $100! What a bargain!

So if it's Southern, that means the horrible minty green livery, yes?

Looks like a good fit, it's called Cow Level Crossing. http://abcrailwayguide.uk/cow-private-level-crossing-east-sussex

That would mean DTG have likely done Brighton to Hastings via Eastbourne, perhaps including the Seaford branch. A Class 377 Electrostar or a Class 313 would make the most sense to include. The services would be Brighton to Hastings and Brighton to Seaford. There's not much by the way of freight on the route, so it would likely be passenger services only, which is a bit of a shame.

What would be really nice is if they did it in the late 1990s, NSE slam door stock, perhaps the Class 33 in shabby Sector or Dutch livery with some Seacow ballast wagons. A mix of semaphore and colour light signals, along with all the old signal boxes on the route. Some how I think it'll be set in the 2010s though!

Considering they didn't even include Iserlohn into RSN or Stockton into TVL, I'd not count on anything branchy, should it be this route :(

Though, I't not be too sure this even is the right spot. The building is different. The one in the screenshot has a rounded roof, the one on Google maps is angled. Also, that power line in the background: I don't see it on Google street view.

EDIT: Correction, the power line is there.

EDIT 2: And who said it has to be Brighton to Hastings? Might as well be Eastbourne to Redhill, Croydon or elsewhere toward London.

Now we have the Journey mode it makes sense to have a route which supports complete services, and of the routes in that area, Hastings to Brighton is 40 miles, which is around the length that DTG are likely to produce, and it also supports complete services. If they also include the additional 1 mile to Ore and the 7 miles to Seaford, that would give even more variety in the services.

You'd have the complete services for:
    • Brighton - Eastbourne - Ore
    • Brighton - Eastbourne - Hastings
    • Brighton - Seaford
If DTG do Brighton to Hastings via Eastbourne, include the Seaford branch and include a Class 377 & Class 313, that would be worth ÂŁ24.99, and I'd happily pay it. If they do something daft like Haywards Heath to Eastbourne and only include one type of EMU it won't be worth ÂŁ24.99, and I won't be buying it.

It will be interesting as well to have to change cabs in Eastbourne. I don't think we ever had to do that in the middle of a service so far. Maybe on some freighters.

    Great Dlc number 24, woho
Like something is seriously wrong with this community that you guys are just fine with them doing the same thing with TSW as with Train Simulator.. releasing Dlc after Dlc without ever improving anything on the core game. The lack of competition is real on this one I see

Let us hope that there will be freight. Even if it would be around 10 freight services like in PC and RRO it would be ok for me.

Valid point, but the lack of content is in intself something detremental to TSW. But it is getting better, them DLC are coming out in a quicker succession recently, is my impression. Maybe that gives DTG some room to focus on bugfixes. If it does, they also need to use it, of course.

Also Digital Draftsman there are also services from Hastings/Ore/Brighton terminating at Lewes, aren't there?

There are indeed. So there's lots of flexibility in terms of service length.

Hopefully this new route will be longer in terms of miles something like NTP standards and not RRO as that was a bit short for my liking and got bored very quickly

I'm moderately qualified to answer this from my previous job. The sign doesn't need to be displayed at every crossing, it just has to be placed on access gates and platform ends. Also the sign can display any number really, some say 250, some 750, some 2000. In reality when dealing with trespass incidents we would seek other punishment over financial, but the sum paid in those cases would usually be much lower than 1000.

In relation to the signs we just needed to prove there was one, so usually they're on platform end gates. We could catch someone 3 miles from a station on the tracks, aslong as that sign was on the platform - regardless of where they got onto the tracks, we could prosecute. In modern times, assuming this route is modernish, they could really just dot them randomly around the route and it would be pretty accurate. Any gate, any crossing, any platform.

Now that I've had some time with RRO, i can say with confidence that the route is "barely" worth the
$30 US dollars i spent on it.

And thats only because i own all of the other German dlc.

    Well 3rd rail UK, good!

Obviously southern. The teaser is a little vague as from before its been figured almost within an hour

Likely one new stock , other reused w reskin? (as of late practice). A 313 and 92 would be epic (uncertain on 92 exact circa and region although)

And hopefully more than TVL length...

Now... to "try" to not check Twitter updates hourly henceforth ;)

I saw someone on twitter say that the crossing is one near Lewes, so it's most likely the east coastway route (with hopefully a branch to Seaford!), so the most likely stock would be a 377, a 313 and a 172

I bought RRO by accident sotosay. Got a Steam coupon as a gift, and either I accidentally chose PayPal as the payment method, or Steam didn't work right. Wasn't the only transaction that went weird recently.

The 172 would be cool, but I'm not a fan of the EMU/DMUs with the door through front - I'd rather have more view when I'm driving!

Well 377 and 313 have end gangways too, so we should get prepared for cabs with the visibility of a tank :D But then, the LIRR trains have that too, can't say it was too hindering.

Normally DTG like to reuse assets however I don't believe any UK 3rd rail EMUs currently exist in TSW so I can't see more than two types of trains in this DLC. Worst case will just be one in like manner to RT at release.

The railway mileage from Brighton to Eastbourne via Lewes is about 37 miles, if you carry on to Hastings, that is approx. 47 miles, unsure exactly what they are going to include within the route, they may put in the Newhaven/Marine/Seaford branchlines for boat trains, etc, it's all a bit too early to say/guess anything at present, we'll have to wait until more information is forthcoming.
Judging by the DTG screenshot we can't even say if it's in Railtrack era (1994-2002), or, Network Rail (2002 - today) periods, so, more guessing is on the cards I presume.

Can we have a Class 73 pleeeeeze, or, at least a Class 33 in some post privatisation livery, for us locomotive diehards.

Looks like were getting the East Coastway Line along with the class 377/4.

I've been looking forward to a more modern UK route with an EMU. The class 377 looks like a good fit BUT I hope that we get more than just that with 3 scenarios. Looking forward to more information here soon

Yes! Finally some British content I can actually enjoy. GWE seems so long ago.

So, it appears to be just the one loco, can’t complain really, modern (2003 at the earliest) - tick and third rail - tick.
