HI. Decided to buy Frankfurt S-Bahn and a couple of the DLC that layer into it Maintalbahn and Bahnstrecke Bremen-Oldenburg as they were cheap (Note: I already have some other German DLC). Ideally I would have all layers, But can someone explain to me what the UI is telling me regarding the layers I have. So I select Frankfiut S-bahn, then Timetable and choose the non reduced timetable. I see, in green "Layers (45/45)". I originally thought that meant I have all possible layers. But now see that means I have all possible layers selected even if I do not own them. SoI click on the Green Layers button and see The greyed out one I guess I am missing. RB12 (Not Owned) Bahnstecke Bremen - Oldenburg But it seems to suggest that is part of the Bahnstrecke DLC which I do have. Why would it be missing? And if it is missing for a valid reason, where would I get RB12 from as I see no reference to that in the Steam Store? Note I am mssing other layers in a similar manner e.g. NJ (Not Ownd) but this gives more of a clue with NRM_DB_BR101 lisred below the DLC (Vorarlberg). Is this the expert 101?
https://tswtracker.com/stats.php?do=dlc&id=131 Or this very useful spreadsheet from someone on the forum... https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/all-add-ons-in-detail-size-acronym-layers.75368/ The layering can be very hard to decipher, I have had the names of layers change in the pop up once I install the correct DLC to something that actually makes sense.
A better naming system is needed. I was wondering why I was missing a Class 52 layer for Riviera despite having the Class 52 loco, only to realise myself I needed the BR blue version from DLoGW.
Thanks for the layer links. They are helpful. Inkar The NRM makes sense now you say it. I do ave the 101 and indeed it appears as a train, with timetabled journeys in Frankfurt S-bahn. But for some reason it is listed in the Layers as in picture I have Fulda and Voralberg. So it's all a bit of a mystery to me as to why greyed out. What is NJ? Nothing obvious stands out searching the postred spresdsheet.
Pretty sure NJ will mean the new journeys expansion pack. Because that did include German content, DB BR 423 EMU. I think you can just buy this add on separately for about £2.99 in the UK.
In the context of german layers, NJ usually means NightJet. PS: Sometimes the layers UI does not give the correct list of requirements. In the Frankfurt - Fulda NJ layer the train is pulled by the OBB 1116 from Semmeringbahn. Maybe it is the same thing here and for some reason the layers UI is not showing it, but not sure. Maybe someone here has all the layers installed and can tell you what their layers UI is reporting. It usually gives the correct list when you have the required DLCs installed.
The other issue I see is there are multiple selections of the same loco in timetable mode. I have 4-5 of exactly the same loco from the same route. Its just gotten messy.
Thanks for providing the actual list of requirements. I checked the S-Bahn article at DTL and Semmeringbahn is not listed as a required DLC to have all the layers. So we can't trust the layers UI and we cant trust the DTL articles to know what is required for a layer, which means someone can potentially spend money in several DLCs to get a layer and not get it. Seriously DTG, you cant keep doing this kind of things.
I always know I'm guaranteed full layers achievable on any and every single route, because I own everything that has been produced for the franchise.......
