Nice discovery. As long as we get a good selection places to go and interesting things to do, I'll be perfectly happy with just one train initially. DTG don't charge a whole lot for extra rolling stock after all.

Let’s hope additional loco dlc won’t take as long as we’ve been waiting for a LIRR dlc.

    Hopes for this:
    1. They include the depot at Brighton so that some shunting and other units can be ported in and out, otherwise it's going to be a very empty Brighton
    2. A full run to Hastings including reverse at Eastbourne
    3. St Leonards TMD, which according to various sources stables some 66s, 73s and 377s... And a train wash!

Only other traction on the route would be a 170 from Eastbourne to Ashford. Everything else is EMU on the coastway
All movements on the line are 1,2 or 5xxx except for two possible 3xxx movements which are presumably treatment trains

    4. Including the Seaford branch.
    5. Including the extra mile to Ore.
    6. Coming with all the goodies we've come to expect by now. Working destination displays, a bit of systems depth in the cab...

He was talking other than the Class 377, as it seems this will be the only train included.

And I was saying the only other traction on the route is a 170. If they produce that then it would be a big thing because the 170 gets to a lot of places in the UK (certainly more than the 377)

No 313s running there? Nvm, just pull another RSN/MSB and give us anytrain that COULD run there threoretically :)

But agreed, 170 would be awesome to have, it was love at first ride for me back in TS2015. Preferrably with AP's sound like they did on the class 31. (That applies for the 377 as well, of course!)

I've not seen them but aparently they do supplement at peak times.

I was thinking as much about cross country, west midlands, northern, scotrail, anglia... A 170 would be good to operate almost anywhere it seems.

Don't forget we aren't sure yet what era it is exactly set in. If it is rather, say, 2008 than 2019, maybe they were running there more often back then. No clue whether they really did though.

Curious, we will find out soon enough, but in the list we have 377 and then 377/4. Have we got 2 variants?

Three scenarios feels a bit “tight” but if there’s is only one loco then I guess there’s only so much they can do.

These are deal breakers for me. If it's only got the 377/1 and /4, it needs to include the extra track. It's only about 8 miles but it adds a lot in terms of variety of services. I could be parted with my money for two variants of a nicely detailed EMU along with 48 miles of track.

Loco variety is a big deal to me, so if it does only include the 377 I will be a little dissapointed but hey it's a new UK route in the modern day so i'm not too upset.

I should have learned to be less hopeful and optimistic when it comes to Dovetail DLC announcements, but we have yet to hear what line(s) will be included. For all we know it might just as well be Brighton all the way to Ashford.

I have a sinking feeling it's only going from Brighton to Eastbourne.
I sincerely hope I'm proved wrong.

Lol that would be the point I lose all faith in TSW as a franchise. Or, well I say lol... not funny at all actually.

Isn't there a demu preservation organisation from Hastings?
Could we not see a hybrid heritage/southern rail thing going on?

Overall that makes about 50 kilometers. The 25-ish more to Hastings/Ore, which would have brought the lenght up to about Rapid Transit or NTP level, were too much to ask?

Seriously, who makes these decisions on how long to built a route? No, really. Serious questions I'd like to get answered. And don't say development time, I don't care. I cow you want to milk, you also must feed, ever heard that one?

Dosent state it as a GWE port. Wonder if this was an opportunity to tweak it. Im sure someone on here can identify any slight changed to it externally, or if its number 66163 features in GWE?

One for the 50/60% sale, I'm not paying full price, (even with a 10% pre-order reduction) for a mainline 22mile route.

Sorry DTG, but it's not good enough!

Yet another DLC I've been waiting for so long, and then DTG comes along with a version so castrated it's damn near worthless.

    So we have gone from:

    NTP
    Length: 43 miles
    Rollingstock:
    1. Class 101 (two car)
    2. Class 47
    3. Class 45
    4. Mk1 Coach
    5. Mk2 coach.

    TVL
    Length: 27 miles (+Yards)
    Rollingstock:
    1. Class 37
    2. Class 101 (three car)
    3. Class 08
    4. BBA Wagon
    5. HEA Hopper

    to the latest route DLC:

    SCW
    Length: 30 miles
    Rollingstock:
    1. Class 377
    2. Class 66 (reused from GWE)
    3. JNA wagon.
So according to DTG the three extra miles over TVL is worth the same as an additional locomotive and wagon? Not to mention the Class 66 I already own from GWE. So really it's just 30 miles, an EMU and a wagon. For the same price as TVL and NTP? Rip off!!!

Can the 66 at least come with a freightliner livery so it's a little different?

Don't want to sound like a broken record or rude. I will probably buy this DLC as it looks nice but this shows why we need the Editor fast or else we will end up paying for each track tie separately. Actually, to be honest i worry more about the fact that routes cannot be linked toghether which will get ridiculous at one point where a single track of let's say 100km is actually 5-6 route DLCs in TSW...

According to the DL Live article there are 6 services an hour in each direction. Times that by 24, taking into account the reduced night services, and you get about 200 odd services plus the class 66 services. Should make the route quite busy.

I will admit I am happy that there is another new route coming to TSW, but like Digital Draftsman has mentioned since NTP the routes are getting smaller in length. I am hoping that this is not going to continue we need longer more enjoyable routes.

I wonder if they will also allow the wagons and EWS 66 to be used on GWE?
There might be a possibility of the class 33 and Mk1's on a railtour...
If the editor turns up we may be able to do such things ourselves....

I'm probably in the minority that doesn't mind a shorter length route, so long as it's high quality and has interesting scenery and stuff to do along it. I really like RRO fwiw. I don't always have a lot of time to play and i like to complete a run in one shot if possible (especially since i've had save issues on Xbox)

My biggest worry is lack of rolling stock. One EMU is fine, but the recycled Class 66 and 1 wagion is a little disappointing, tbh. Still, trying to reserve judgement until it releases.

I'm not familiar with the route even though i've visted the UK a couple of times. Is it more urban or rural? What sort of sevices would the 66 run? Would it run on the same 3rd rail track, or are we talking branch lines?

It's more rural with small towns and villages. Sadly they decided to leave out the most scenic section of line which actually runs along the coast, so there's no beach side running to be had. You won't be getting this:

The Class 66 will only run over a short 6 or 7 mile section of Seaford branch, so there won't be any fast running, most of the time will be just shunting the train. There's no indication yet whether they have added services to GWE to make use of the wagons, but they do run on GWE in reality.

Thanks for the info! Would have been neat to run right along the beach

OT, but i'm always amused by the place-name similarity/differences between the UK and US (especially east coast). Lewes, Delaware is on the water (ferry terminal to Cape May, NJ across Delaware Bay) and Seaford, Delaware is landlocked in the middle of the state, whereas in the UK they're basically reversed- at least from my quick look at google maps. I always wonder how/why places get named as they do.

Would that be the section to Hastings? Digital Draftsman
Fingers crossed that top n tail scenario involves the 33.

Additional services for the 66 on GWE would help, a bit...

    -------

This is getting a bit tiresome, 30 miles, one new emu, which is a 377. Must admit im a bit deflated from the tease yesterday

Possibly an add on for another bit of traction months down the road for 2/3 the price of the route itself

Im not angry, im just not thrilled about it

if anything itll be good enough for the 2 hour rental on steam
