Took the plunge with the Riviera line and have to say I am really enjoying it. I've given the 802, Voyager, 166 and the HST a quick drive and I'm really enjoying the HST. It's nice that it finally has a proper route to do some nice runs on - GWE was a bit lacklustre as all you did was run Paddington to Reading non-stop but now we have some more stops in between on the Riviera and it's an absolute joy!!

I cannot wait for Liam's GWE to come, I hope that the HST has received some love too (physics maybe?).

I'd absolutely love to see a timetable backdated a few years to when the HSTs were the main form of traction in the beautiful blue livery. Chuck in the 153 and 142 alongside the 158 and 150. Or even if we go back a few more years, why not have the Valentas screaming alongside the 47s and 50s? A lot of potential for DLC and gameplay packs!!! Awesome!!!

This really is peak TSW for me, I really hope we stay in this area of the UK with future DLC’s. Bristol to Exeter or even Weston-Super-Mare to Bristol / Avonmouth / Severn Beach would be great or even the Cornish Branch Lines. It’s one of my favourite parts of the country and the Riviera line in game shows it off brilliantly.

What is wrong with the camera? Is it that you can’t zoom out sideways very far?

Yes it goes nuts definitely along the sea wall. parts of it won't let you do anything outside in some parts. It has been said by other players aa well.

I know its stupid and slight thing to complain about but what irritates me is AI trains never have the wipers working in rain or snow takes the realism away

Whilst I’m enjoying this route it’s a totally incomplete experience for me. I’m on PS5 and can’t use the Voyager or 802 beyond the first station stop as the brakes just don’t release stuck at 30%
Not seeing big complaints even though it was an issue in the DTG live stream before release. Feels like I’ve bought an incomplete and flawed product as I’m stuck with the 125 and 150 only without free roam. Not hearing of a patch to sort asap either……and yes, the external camera is bugged!

As a workaround until they fix it, try opening and closing each of the cab doors one at a time until you can release the brakes.

Post patch: Riviera line is completely broken. 150's (with faults on or off), are next to undrivable. Sea is completely missing between Starcross and Dawlish Warren, 220 is even more busted than it was before (namely door faults), and now signals are missing from Exeter St David's. Applause all round!

So looks like the 20 minutes Steam is predicting to apply the patch is a waste of time.

Did DTG even give this to the testers to try or did they just use AI to validate the update and push it out?!

That's one of the problems with TSW in general with its feature creep. A lot of older expansions haven't (and wont be) been updated to support new features like Suspension, PIS, train faults.. etc.

166 doesn't have announcements due to it being the later from Great Western Express

The PIS on the 166 didn't work before todays patch either, and I don't think it works on Cardiff, either.

It's the original 166 from GWE. It's never had PIS.

The brightness of the external PIS on the 166 is set up for TOD3 routes (GWE/BML). If you load in a night service on the Riviera Line, you can see how dim it is if you move the camera as close as possible. When the GWE remaster arrives, both the 166 and HST will have their lighting updated to TOD4, so it should be visible then.

It does on Riviera too, it’s just invisible during the day due to the train & route being built under 2 different lighting engines.

Suddenly having lots of issues with this route that I did not have over the last two weeks.

Issue 1 - I close the passenger doors - they close - but the game doesn’t recognise they are closed. Had the issue on the 220 and 150 in timetable mode today alone.

Issue 2 - the engines keep switching off at random times.

These problems aren’t relating to the random faults feature either as there is no notification of a fault!

Wasn’t like this on Thursday when I last played!

Check your settings to see if fault notifications are disabled. I found after the update on PS5 that the settings had defaulted to having the notifications disabled. The frequency had also been switched to normal for all of them when I'd had it at low for some.

I came back to Riviera today having not played it for a few days and have experienced a lot of the same problems as others on this thread.

The engines on the 150 keep switching off - it must’ve happened five or six times at least on a short run from Paignton to Exeter Saint Davids. No notification appears on screen when this occurs even though notifications are switched on in the settings, so I initially had no idea why I had lost all power.

Furthermore, my wipers are breaking literally every few seconds - they must’ve stopped working 30 or 40 times during the short run. Again, no message appears on screen when this happens, but it’s pretty obvious when the wipers stop moving….

I had only one instance of the doors failing to close, although again received no notification and had to figure it out by trial and error.

I assume that something has broken during the last “update”.

I’m not privy to the testing that DTG does, but however much they do, it’s not enough, on Xbox at least.

So it looks like the hotfix may not have sorted the problem altogether... The Voyager run I did yesterday evening was okay but seems the 150 is still fubared.

Just to say that you can explore the Dawlish sea wall path (tested from Dawlish up to and around Teignmouth from my quick walk) if you spawn in a Class 66 at Dawlish (Platform 1) and drive up adjacent to the section you want to walk. Hop out of the cab and you should clear the small wall next to the track and land on the path where you can then walk. More exploring to be done! On Platform 2 at the exit there is a handy 'climb up' pop up allowing you to hop over the railing and explore the car park and Dawlish town area although I was then trapped. Here's hoping that the invisible walls are removed, such a great route and well detailed that is perfect for exploring.

I got a signal failure by spawning on foot, without even entering or touching a train in any way. Twice.

Following the error message received. l decided to delete the game last night and reinstalled it over night and it has just finished installing and l am pleased to say DTG Harry, it now works again. I wish l had realised that earlier as l was free this weekend and could have had some fun with TSW6. Never mind it fixed the problem and l hope reinstalling included the update?

With third party developers like Just Trains, Alan Thompson Simulations and All Abroad Studios now producing excellent breathtaking routes, it’s about time Rivet worked hard to bring their routes even half way to the standards now being shown. But l cannot ever see that happening, can you?

If we had some of these new developers doing the ‘Rivet’ routes, we would have had some truly masterpieces in TSW.

I have just read a post somewhere on discord, by DTG, that said on the 13th the patch that was pushed to steam to fix what they'd stated has now come to console? I'm currently playing 2T10 Exmouth to Paignton and ALL of the persistent faults are occurring still, and the sea still isn't loading in around the Dawlish Warren area. Anyone else having this issue?

Found an EMT livery for the Voyager (pretending to be a Meridian) on Creators Club yesterday, which I put on MML in Free Roam. That was a good run, but I really wish a Meridian was actually in the game
