Gen 9 will feature the same timetable as PC. Performance results we have closely monitored throughout the process and have seen good results. Myself and DTG QA/DTG 3pp have been making sure to keep an eye on performance throughout and I have had no errors back about issues on textures or performance, should something crop up we will of course investigate but as it stands, it is in a good place :)

The release date article says these things are coming in a patch? Or does it? It gives a big list and then says not all of it will be in at launch so i just figured better to assume none of it will.

    Now i'm confused tbh.

So I did clear this up on stream but don't worry ill compile the list here:

    Available on release:
    • Suspension rework.
    • Improved the Traction Lock system so you can now switch cab ends.
    • Improved the Emergency Lock Conditions so now if you press the plunger or you throw the PBC into emergency, you can release the braking again.
    • Improved door logic so you can now consistently depart without brakes being stuck on when trying to apply power.
    • Improved couple and uncouple logic on AI services so that gangway doors and tail lights should now all function properly.
    • Made some improvements to the UDS Switch logic so should now always behave correctly when under player control.
    • Improved the Body Indicator Lights so that they consistently work (When doors close under driver mode, they go off. When in guard mode, they will flash consistently when local door is active in that coach.
    • Improved Auto Brake system so that it only kicks in at 1.5mph or under as per real life operation and allows for proper movements through train washes and depots.
    • Added Onboard Announcements.
    • Added Passenger Ambience.
    • Removed DC Functionality from /2 and /3 variants as per real life. We have also made visual changes where appropriate:
    • /1 has proper interior as per 2019 pre refurb spec in ex LM colours.
    • Changed PIS Not In Service text from “NotIn” to “LNR” as per real life.
    • Changed External PIS Colour to reflect closer to real life.
    • Centred PIS Text on external PIS.
    Coming to post release patch:
    • Improved braking curves.
    • Improved the PBC sensitivity to allow for keyboard users to apply smaller increments of braking power more easily.
    • Removed DOO components on /1 and /2 sub classes to represent true real life spec for the time period.
    • Train Faults

Will the destination timings in the timetable be in the post release patch? Thanks.

Yes, this is currently W.I.P as we speak with the aim for it to join the same patch as the other stuff :) I will update if anything changes but we should be fine

Is the Wolverhampton Football Stadium available and visible Like in Real Life?
Are the Updated Cabs available at Launch or Post Launch?

It isn't visible in real life.

    Have you been to Wolverhampton?

It was in an article that the Wolves ground is in (maybe they forgot to show it last night?) Agree that it isn't too close to the station, I had to do a Google search to check where it is and I have certainly never seen it either at the station or coming in on journeys I have made in real life.

Just got around to watching the stream and while I think the route is very well modeled I smell a bit of a rat......why are they suddenly interested in show casing a route in foggy conditions? I'll definitely be interested to see what the draw distance and pop in situation is like on release.

Looks really good and ordinarily, it would be going straight in the collection.

However, I am going to be holding off on any new DLC for a while and wait to see if they actually start fixing some existing bugs first.

Any chance of a class 08 at Wolverhampton Steel Terminal?

The timetable might be full, but shunting a few BBA's around the yard wouldn't interfere with the mainline workings, and make use of an otherwise dead facility.

Appreciate the response, but my overarching point still stands. Just everything for TSW is releasing with this promise of patches to finish up what should have been done already, patches which obviously aren’t getting tested in a live environment (it seems the paying players are that environment).

Also, can you explain what the deal with the fog was? Maybe for one run it’s fine to show off (afterall we usually get the same weather every stream), but on the Pendo run it was pretty obvious Matt was reminded to set fog.

I've only ever seen 60s and 66s in the facility. Mostly the latter.

Maybe AAS should do as JT have done, their own stream or demo of the route sans any adverse weather conditions. That would go a long way to removing the yellow flag from us Doubting Thomas’s.

There used to be a class 08 permanently based at the Steel sidings (usually 08714) Though I think it disappeared when Colas Rail took over the place.

Hmmmm, was making this a day one purchase, not so sure now, I think I'll wait for the guinea pigs to review.

I've not watched the stream yet but sounds like it's not worth it as every journey was done in fog.

Also, no neutral sections? That's very disappointing if true, should be standard on all electric routes now, was looking forward to taking the 86 and 87 for a spin on the route.

As always I'll watch some preview streams first, presumably not in fog. I couldn't see anything too concerning from the initial stream apart from the lack of destination times.

It is their first DLC and looked better and more comprehensive than many other DLC we get.

Wait a week until after release. There will be YouTube videos up by then.

I've never understood the rush to get something non-essential on day 1, when you know it will be better and cheaper on day 100.

There are only a couple of TSW reviewers worth watching these days, most say everything is amazing even if the route is a dumpster fire. :D

Unrelated, but played SHS with the 700 this week, first time on TSW6 and felt it was noticeably smoother than other iterations of the game. Seems to be less stuttering this year on PS5

I must admit it's been a few years since I travelled to Wolverhampton from Birmingham but I could never recall seeing it from the train so I was a bit confused when the publicity blurb said it could be seen from the train.

Yes agreed I don't know why it said it either. Does seem bizarre actually.

It would certainly be noticeable if it was visible from the train as it's not the most subtle football ground.

This building right here I always look at and think wow this used to probs be filled with 100s of workers back in the day. Shame how its rotting but it acts like as a landmark. But the building is basically spot on.
The Custom Assets used for this route is amazing, brings it to life the the generic buildings that don't look like anything to the real thing.
That is what I look for in a route is the Scenery and how well it compares to real life and I must say spot on on the Wolverhampton to New Street Bit. Stations, PIS Boards look spot on. I can't say much for the Wolverhampton to Crewe Line due to not travelling on that Line much. Been to Crewe many times and it looks amazing. Very realistic I have to say.
10000% Be a Day 1 purchase for me. Best Modern route this game has ever received.

...and? if they don't feel like actually recording or licensing announcements then they've absolutely got the 'savings' to add them to layers in new routes.
Or put it this way - if they don't feel like putting in that small bit of effort, what else are they avoiding doing?

Having looked at its location, would assume Molineux would be visible when moving the external camera up high but probably not from the drivers view.

Appreciate the reply and sorry for my prior grumpiness- didn't catch the stream so i was going just based on the article.

Thanks for clearing that up- definitely a day-one purchase for me barring any massive bugs that show up on launch day!

Updated cabs will post release, we will try get some pictures soon. I have just finished making sure faults for the 350 are working today and is currently with our testing team to ensure they aren't going off constantly, etc, cabs will be reviewed by them too to ensure we have them as close as possible to the real life spec in 2019.

Whilst I understand your frustration, I will say the team has worked very hard to make sure we can make the product the best it can be, unfortunately any game can have bugs and whilst we wanted to ensure a near perfect launch it is clear somethings slipped under the radar but have now been resolved. We have seen the comments around this though and are making sure for future releases we have even tighter testing conditions to ensure that we minimise the need for post release patches.

In terms of the fog, purely matts choice, he likes it for the depth it can add but don't worry, we are working with DTG Ambassadors at the moment to ensure you can see the route under some different conditions leading up to release :)

The word on the street is that the stadium is not in the route at the moment but it will be patched in when or if the team wins its first game. :D:D

There is so much potential for 3rd parties to make addons, at wolverhampton there is the line to telford/ shrewsbury at stafford there is the trent valley and finally crewe is such a busy junction it could really add a lot if extra gameplay. I was pleased to see lsl added at crewe and hopefully if we get more locos the sidings there could be filled up nicely.

Listening to the British Transport Police announcements rush through the text number reminds me of text to speech from decades ago where you had to add commas or full stops to certain text to make the computer read them at the correct speed. Has the tech really not advanced since then?

I certainly am. The plan is to sleep from now until Tuesday. Then from Tuesday until forever, you'll likely find me on a stopping service between Wolves and New St

Well, I finally found time to watch the stream and it was pretty much as I expected. Between BNS and Wolverhampton, MP drove a near-silent emu with a pin hole windshield through nondescript scenery.

I don't doubt that a lot of effort went into building this route, but, as I said somewhere else, I don't see anything special here. The route is very imitative of all the other UK commuter lines we've seen in the last few years.

We need to see something completely different and it seems that only JT is going to provide it, if only once or twice a year.

TSW is beginning to resemble a desert with an occasional oasis reached after passing one dry water hole after another.

How can you not see any difference with this?
We are offered an hour run with 350
and 390. Many layers as well. We have freight, rail tours etc. Stunning accurate scenery.
2 Big depots! It’s all accurate and very well modelled stations.
How can you not be excited for such a route like this?

To quote Basil Faulty: "Well what was you expecting? The hanging gardens of Babylon?"

For better or worse, that is actually how some of the Staffordshire countryside looks like. You can't add things that aren't their. ECML is also pretty baron and green... But that is pretty much how it is in real life speeding through the middle of the English countryside.

Just to add, once again, I think the route looks smashing and looking forward to Tuesday. I've entered the competition on AABS Facebook page to see if I can win the route for free too!
