A much needed rant, and I know I meed to watch my language but to be honest I'm fuming. After 17 hours of downloading this "new" TSW6. Im met with the exact same issues with the Mk2fs. Being that I cant use them with any of the liveries. This pack released ages ago and not a single announcement, update or anything. They just released it and ran. JT used to be the top end for TSW, the development team that I trusted until that 86 pack. Aiming back at DTG, That surely means that other than the "new trains" and the "new routes" we get a bit of menu music and some bright yellow signs next to the track? And no bug fixes at all I guess. So glad ive stuck with the free starter. I cant see me spending much or any more money on this stupid bug-ridden game. Im sure if we look hard enough TSW3 bugs will be found. But I dont even feel heard while typing this because it's about as useful complaining in the feedback forums as making a petition about the UK Government. Ignored and dismissed.
Have you made a ticket yet?, and also what’s the fault with the mk2s since I think they are looking into the panels disappearing bug which is probably top priority on bug fixes
Im still waiting for a response from DTG about London to Milton Keynes missing from my collection when moving to TSW6 i sent a message to Dovetail support and nothing its very frustrating
A pack that released that far back shouldve been bug tested and resolved. Its unacceptable. and my issue in question is that All of the WCML Coaching stock has become jumbled up since the exact launch of the 86 pack. And the Mk2 and Mk1RMB liveries are unable for use.
Well first off it was working on release but after one of the DTG updates it broke so it was fully ready for release. mk2s and mk3s are meant to be jumbled up in the train, you have some mk2s and some mk3s which is accurate to the era I think and livery designer is livery designer never works either way
May be wrong so someone can correct me. I'm pretty sure the mk2s and mk3s should be on different trains as the mk3s are cleared for higher running line speeds than the mk2s?
It doesnt overly matter, they can run together it just limits the Mk3s to 100mph. But regardless its pointless me running them right now because the liveries i spend my hours on are locked away behind a broken game.
I’m not entirely sure this issue is for JT to fix, for me missing tiles is a core issue as the same issue occurs across multiple routes. What does annoy me is the WCMLOS timetable I still has hidden playable services from its timetable which has been a problem since day 1 release, yet the issue is ignored. Despite the timetable being updated to include the class 86. Rivet and others get blasted on these forums for their fire and forget attitude (with good justification), but sections of the community give the likes of Just Trains and TSG a free pass when they leave bugs untouched.
What hidden services? If you have all layers all services should be there (minus the 86 as the services for it were already there with the 87 anyway).
There are services that you can't select from the timetable, that are only accessible through being in the route at the time. As an example, the other week I did a 47 service from Carnforth down into Lancaster. That service stopped there as the 47 decoupled for an 87 to take over. The 47 ran down light loco to Preston, then into the sidings, however that light loco run isn't selectable from the timetable. You have to be in (or get into) the 47 in order to activate it
What OP means is that in livery designer, the Mk2 TSO shows as the Mk3 TSO and vice versa, so any livery done on those coaches doesn't show up in game
Yep. The MK1 Buffet car is also a bit of a disaster too. Sometimes coming up as a Mk1 sometimes as a Mk3 so, as has been posted above, you cannot get any new liveries to appear on it in game. Bit of a shame really.....especially as I was trying to make a fake 4BEP unit. (Seen here with the wrong livery and coach number on the RMB). TBH it is pretty poor actually getting the naming conventions of your products wrong. I'd have thought that it would've been a priority for JT / DTG to correct but, once again, nothing seems to have been done.
Am I assuming correctly that you are referring to Creators Club liveries made for the JT MK2F carriages? Could you post a link to some examples on CC that are not working for you?
It's not the liveries that are the problem but the naming of the models that we are trying to add the liveries to. (Look below and you can see from my screenshot from Livery Designer that 3 models have the same name. "JT Mk3a RMB" even though 1 of them is obviously a Mk1 and the other is a BSO. You can also see 2 'versions' of the FO and TSO coaches which is the other error being spoken about). It does seem that DTG are aware of this error because this quote was made on 16th July. Lots of comment about the issues here in the Master Feedback thread. Loco - Class 86 Loco - Master Feedback Thread Not sure why it hasn't been fixed by now but, I guess, we are back into the "TSW6 is much more important than fixing TSW5" arena. Out of interest, has this issue been fixed in TSW6?
Its not CC its my own user created ones. The only time ive ever seen them in use is through setting it to ACTIVE and then an AI train runs them. No way to find them anywhere else not on Formation designer or Free Roam
That was the 1st thing i looked at when "upgrading" and nope nothing has changed. In fact even more issues have appeared as now the class 47s have audio issues which they never did for me in TSW4 or 5
Your livid after taking 17 hours to download TSW6. How to you think l feel if you are livid it’s taken me 16 days continuously with my Xbox hot during that time and l am pleased to say l have just finished it. l won’t be getting TSW 7 unless DTG improve this stupid situation of having to install all your content.
I think that’s more of a DTG skill issue than a just trains problem, I swear this has happened before for other rolling stock
I agree there are issues within JT, but at their core the DLC’s from them are good content. There are certainly things to be addressed with specifics outside of the actual gameplay, but the quality for price ratio is far better when it comes to JT over any other dev. I think as time goes on though & JT continues to stick to the same general rolling stock, mainline & era, people are going to question where the time saved on stock development & assets is going, especially when they’re charging a higher price than most other content in the game. All that being said, third parties are taking losses from the get go with cuts going to DTG & storefronts (I’m not sure if the latter comes out of DTGs pocket). So the fact that we generally see higher quality from third parties is pretty impressive, when DTG likely see much higher returns on less than impressive releases.
There is definitely something wrong with livery designer, I can’t even use my created liveries in created scenarios. I don’t know if it’s my profile that’s bugged.
Nope. Nothing wrong at your end. It's true for all of us. (Even the liveries uploading to TSC won't work in-game). I just don't know why no one has bothered to fix it? I'm just glad that no-one has told Vern that his beloved MK1 Buffet has been botched
Between this and the legal action thread I'm beginning to think OP may be quiet cynical. JT are still among the best developers, their content is high-standard and a few bugs here and there doesn't change that. Especially in a game like TSW where bugs are common. The 86 really isn't what they should be judged on, it should be their two fantastic routes and their upcoming third which are their main contributions. That's where most resources seem to go and thus is a better metric of their quality.
My personal main issue with JT is that all 3 of their routes are in the same region. It's a getting a bit boring. What I'd personally love to see from them them is an ECML section with either a 55 or 91 (set when they first introduced, obviously). Said 91 could then even be made into a modern LNER version like they're doing with the Cardiff pacer
Track laying errors were bought to JTs attention for Preston/Carlisle before release and they have not been acknowledged let alone fixed. There is the coupler slack in the 75mph Freightliner flats where they couple to the loco that has not been fixed yet either.
That’s on every route to be fair, like there’s 4 extra db br 204 services on one of the German routes. really starting to think you just have something against JT
I don't though, literally the only thing I said critical of them is that I find their constant spam of Preston to be a bit boring. But sure that combined with pointing out some services aren't selectable means I hate them... Based on this comment you just made about the br 204 means you must also hate TSG or DTG (whoever made it) no?
This is actually an interesting point, could it be a case where by saving time on not needing to develop rolling stock you give yourself more time to flesh out more track mileage?
But the fact is I don’t have a problem with Easter egg services (little nickname for them and I think that’s what they actually are), I enjoy looking for them anyways it was rivet games that made so the one I hate about it is the fact doesn’t layer since they messed it up that badly
But I also never said I had a problem with it, I just pointed out the situation as another user was confused, and gave an example
I'm wondering when JT are going to deliver an updated timetable for BPO, I want to see electric traction at Preston on that route Also, would like them to update the MK3 sounds to have their distinct hissing and whining sounds.
