WCML Preston to Carlisle or Zwolle Groningen I’ve tried to look into videos on YouTube of them on Xbox, checking for z-fighting issues as that is absolute key to whether I would pick up on them or not, I have noticed some on Zwolle not too bad but enough to make me consider, I haven’t found much on videos of WCML P-C on Xbox though wondering which you would recommend to buy most
Preston to Carlisle by a mile. The Dutch route is okay but got boring very quickly. A to B and clockface timetable. The trains are nice but slightly flawed as regards physics and the ICM is near dead quiet in the cabs. The 87 and tap changer will challenge your mettle as a driver, it's a lovely long run through some very well done scenery.
I’m currently playing the Dutch route having waited a while and it’s decent. A nice route that I’m enjoying. Preston Carlisle, wow where to start. My favourite route in the game, and many others feel the same. I’d go for that if I could only choose one
Learning to drive the 87, not only with the tap changer, but the neutral zones as well, was a challenge, but so worth the effort when I mastered it. Plus, it's a fantastic route.
As others have said, Preston-Carlisle. It’s the best route in the game. I have a suspicion it will only be beaten by Preston-Crewe.
I went with Preston Carlisle, completed the 87 tutorial and route introduction then took the 87 up from Preston to Carlisle, nice fun long route, gonna take the 87 back to Preston from Carlisle in the morning. Thinking about picking up Zwolle next in December time. Appreciate the feedback all, many thanks. Edit: anyone know if the station whistle is implemented on this route ? I remember it being one of my all time favourite features on the Blackpool route
Good choice! Make sure to pick up the 86 pack at some point which adds the Mark Two “coffins” and the legendary RMB buffet car! And for an additional challenge, go back into the engine compartment (you need to crouch through the door) find the traction motor isolation rack and knock out one of the TM’s. You will find acceleration even more interesting on the tap changer and no longer have the rheostatic braking assistance (though added bonus there is you get to hear the rather nice brake rub effect JT put in the audio).
