    Looks like console might have got the wrong build… but incompetence at best if that the case.

    But if not then DTG should seriously think about pulling this from sale and cancelling go live on Steam later and throw it back to the devs to finish properly. The timetable errors alone should dictate that. It was never ready for release.

    Just downloaded the update to the route on PS5 Pro

    Still crashes out of game on 350 tutorial

    Gonna wait until someone actually has the correct build number and confirms what it is like before considering a purchase.

    Longer standing players might correct me on this, but I feel like since late 2024/early 2025 there has been a persistent issue with pushing out wrong builds. Totally accept human error can happen on occasion, but when as a company you keep making the same mistake seemingly for every big launch then at what point do you have an internal discussion about improving your admin systems? I know the certification process is a bigger hoop to get through for consoles but that should be extra reason to give it closer attention. I'll definitely ask about this at the next roadmap Q&A and see what they have to say (if anything).

    It's getting embarrassing at this stage pushing out the wrong builds time and time again since the TSW5 general release.
    DTG offices must be like a constant headless chicken frenzy.

    That's annoying but oh well and looking at the state of it on console atm i would understand if they delay it on pc anyway XD

    Not so sure on this. Music good all funny half way through loading. No voice on route one. XboxX crashes on 153 loading. Will post more as I find them. Otherwise a brilliant route and you can see the effort that people have put into it. Just a shame it seems a bit spoilt

    This is exactly why I was asking about console performance with such a full on timetable. I was hoping with all the blurry texture issues previously someone could've got out ahead of this.

    Hopefully it can be resolved.

    Looked really smooth on BAces stream recently tbh, pc, pretty beefy one though i think. But yes, decent pc required i think.

    I think they mean the version of the installed package on your Xbox rather than the head code of the service you were doing.

    My pc runs most games at 4k ultra even tho some certain routes do cause it to get a bit upset so i will see how this one goes.

    I don't understand, why the Voyager 220 layer isn't active, even though I own the Voyager DLC and it's probably conditional on owning the BCC_ 170_pack, that seems a bit strange to me

    Astonishing that the blurred textures issue still hasn't been fixed. What happened to those optimisation improvements promised months ago?

    If the textures issues can't be fixed, then the game has more or less no future on consoles. The thought of racing multiple trains into a station like London Bridge can be safely erased, since judging from the early feedback from this route, any route that's even remotely busy can't be played without the blurry textures.

    But it's fine because you can just turn the layers off. Duh!

    Vern, when you say the timetable is "borked" is this just that wonderful 5+ hour journey that slipped into a livestream or is it just stuffed up completely?

    There are no arrival/departure times, services have incorrect starting points & there are odd wait times on some services (loading several minutes before departure etc).

    That what I’ve seen so far on PS5 builds.

    It was probably a lie to try to make sure sales of TSW6 were not impacted

    Matt said that blurring textures woiuld be a priority once the crashing had been sorted

    Once done, he then said that what he thought the issue was (a setting) and all hands were on it

    He then said that in testing they had seen positive results in regards to the blurring issue

    Then TSW6 released and now we are told they are just back to evaluating

    So sorry but Matt and DTG are just a bunch of proven liars that just misdirect customers so it doesn't hurt sales

    I had a feeling something was wrong when BritishAce said they weren't allowed to preview the route on PS5.

    I don't blame AABS for this but this wrong build trend is getting tiresome. Won't be purchasing until the blurry textures are confirmed to be fixed

    I am holding off getting this for PS5 until some optimisation fixes are pushed through. AABS seem to be very committed and do listen to community feedback, so I don’t doubt they’d tidy things up for us console users.

    UK PC players who use Steam have to wait for valve the company that owns steam to join the 21st century before we get morning day of the release downloads for new dlc rather than the 6pm UK time release.

    This is something that has always confused me with TSW and it's DLCs. DTG has sited that it's to do with the storefront but then how is it plenty of other games manage to do things like regional midnight releases (including DLCs)?

    I'm guessing, other games that are considered AA rated or whatever it is, the publishers probably pay valve a premium to get the, pre-install, early day of release spots, TSW and its like are too niche market maybe so we have to wait.

    In this case it has done us a favour, if the shortcomings of the console version are translated into the PC edition not worth bothering with.

    Well that would mean Steam employees starting work at about 3am or Steam having a night shift, either of which would probably lead to a price increase.

    And UK players aren't the only people buying Steam products. It works out quite nicely for me with a 12pm release since I'm rarely at my computer before noon. ;);)

    Their whole distribution system seems to be a mess as this whole "wrong build" fiasco for the 5th time illustrates so nicely.

    I always figured DTG used the console releases as a "final test" of the Steam build- if there's an "oh ****" issue once it's in the wild on Xbox snd PS, they can fix it quickly on PC (maybe even before that scheduled release time) due to not having to go through the certification process.

    Kind of a crappy way to treat paying customers imo, but i guess it makes it technically true when they say they beta test on consoles lmao.

    So at the moment DTGs current advice for console players is "Try playing on HD instead of 4K and disable the tfw layers until fixes are implemented"

    Yikes I'm glad I held off. I also saw one clip of someone's run ending due to an AI SPAD

    If this is the case then that is horrible as most other companies normally put console first and give them the best as that is where the players and money are. I mean as a pc player i am expecting to get the worst of it all, but DTG have gone backwards.

    Hi all, apologies for taking awhile to respond here. I am currently co-ordinating alongside Dan, our dev team, our new internal testers we brought on and DTG to analyse each thing that has been reported today on consoles. We are still investigating how these issues have cropped up. I or Dan will post an update as soon as we have more but please do note, we are working tirelessly today to cross check builds with DTG and make fixes where required.

    I will note that we have seem some issues reported that were indeed not able to be replicated on our current test builds. We have also made additional optimisations to Crewe area to rectify crashing issues on console. On testing builds it is looking promising but we still need to ensure we check everything to make sure we don't end up with crashes.

    I would like to take a moment to thank everyone on the forums, discord and other social media for their patience whilst we look into the cause of the issues today. We are actively looking at what people are reporting so please don't think us being a bit quiet is us ignoring you all, we are listening and are hard at work.

    We will update you with more info soon and we apologise to anyone who has faced issues with the route on consoles this morning.
