Sherman hill route has a scenario called "Through the storm over Sherman" and it crashes after loading the HUD, in the editor same story, HUD loads, and crash
The question has been asked before Have a look here and yuou might find the answer https://forums.dovetailgames.com/search/102217695/?q=Storm+Over+Sherman&o=relevance
Did you expect something to be done? Does the fault stop you running other scenarios on the route? If it did work how many times would you play the scenario? DTG are not going to spend time fixing something that some of the users might run once or twice
then if users might run once or twice why make it at all in the first place? why not make something that users might run more than once, make it make sense
Because users want something different. If you run a scenario today the train you drive and the other trains you see on your run will be interesting. If you run the same scenario again then you will still see the same locos & wagons as you did today with nothing different. You will travel over the same sections of track, pass the same stations. When you get to a siding the same train and wagons will be there. When you see another train passing it will be the same type of loco, same number, same wagons. People find that boring DTG make the scenarios as a selling point and you can download more from the Workshop and different websites
I like to revisit scenarios sometimes. New players will also experience them as their first time. They are not yet thinking about other scenario sources. I didn't encounter huge issues myself, I heard about a couple (like the Sherman intro). My issue is with content I'm playing the first time, stormy weather is universally broken. The people behind Total Annihilation - a game from 1998 - took it to Steam and fixed: crash when the map was smaller than the screen resolution, and in-game music which was CD-based, plus of-course not requiring CD as DRM anymore. I guess several issues are LUA based, old syntax is not valid anymore. It shouldn't take long to update them. People don't like to purchase abandonware. Unfortunately, DTG is rather stubborn in this matter (involving the community for fixes). Copyright is a weird thing. It makes sense with books and music, you're not allowed to update them. Computer stuff should lose protection as soon as it becomes abandoned. (Looking at All Aboard)
I realise that as this scenario does not work the world is coming to an end Don't drive any other scenario on different routes as you will find more of the older ones have a problem Tell you what - go report a problem with a 13 year old game and see how far you get. I don't drive Sherman Hill so I don't care if the scenario works or not.
