As I say, on Morristown, you observed it with LIRR trains at Penn, I observed it with NJT trains at Hoboken.

My money is on it being more of a core issue, than just an issue with layered stock. Obviously no passenger trains should be running with all their doors open, irrespective of the operator :D

Can I ask a stupid question? When I switch from diesel to electric on this hybrid loco ALP45DP ...... does the diesel engine keep running or does it automatically shut down? I haven't figured it out.....maybe it works on the loco somehow, but if it's controlled via the cabcar, then probably not, or am I wrong? Thank you

The tutorial didn't help me at all and I haven't tried the screnario yet.

The switch to electric automatically shuts down the diesel engine.

You can tell it's switched off because you can no longer see the emissions from the top of the loco.

I just saw smoke even after switching to electric mode... but so far we have only tried it, I have not continued further....... we took another service 1002 from Dover to Denville, and there it did not want to switch to electric mode and I was driving in diesel mode and I even met an oncoming AI train from Summit in Denville and it was also driving in Diesel mode... interesting, but not impossible :)

It switches off, but it takes a while. After a minute or so you'll here some sounds and also the fans outside on the roof will be stopped

Yes, about two minutes after switching the system to electric, the engine turned off and the fan stopped. Thank you.

I think that after switching to electric mode, the turbocharger is still cooling down and the diesel engine is idling. After the temperature drops, the engine shuts down.
