They are good route suggestions but there are too many UK and DE routes,
why just don't look out to more countries, you know what it is the Netherlands made his fiirst
debut with zwolle - Groningen The Dutch Railways also has a nice appearance in train stations landscapes,
which also has more Dutch Routes are being worked with France Spain Italy Belguim and so on. that is your
variation by just bringing UK and DE routes just think of something else because life does not just turn to United Kingdom and Germany, if we are talking about wheels over the rails in a train or freight is transported Passengers are transported that interests me pretty little, it's just overflows from Germany routes and british routes, so it believes that the latter is being desperately done at the right suggestions when it comes to UK or DE, live with the rest of the world...

Maybe because the majority of users here are UK or Germany based. It's kind of hard for someone to put together a suggestion for a route they know very little about, and most people in general probably like to suggest routes that they have some sort of connection to.

That's exactly right! You said it all.

They focus too much on the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States, when there are lots of other countries to discover that are much better for a lot of people.

They've added so many lines and trains in these three countries that in the three new lines in each starter set, you can see that they're recycling trains. Always the same ones, of course! Except for the three trains in the deluxe editions, but those are from the same family as other existing trains, such as the two trains from the United States and Germany this year on TSW6.

They are still trying to explore new countries, such as the Netherlands, Japan, Portugal and the Czech Republic, but why not develop the excellent France they started with the LGV Méditerranée! Why not explore Portugal's neighbour, Spain, instead? Why not Italy and Belgium, as you said?

Personally, I have a dream: a totally exotic country for the licence, like a country in Africa or South America! Why not Morocco ;)

Although I’m British, starting to get fed up with the preponderance of UK routes, particularly as so many are very similar.

If DTG want me to keep buying DLC they need to spread their wings, licensing permitting. Let’s get into Scandinavia, Italy, Eastern Europe, Australia/New Zealand, South America. If the politics eventually permit it, Russia. Look at China and India too.

TSC and TSW have always been focused mainly on the UK (where DTG are based), Germany and the USA.

It is safe to say that DTG follow the money like all good businesses. While we'll never know for certain what sells and what doesn't, you can pretty much assume that their releases reflect what makes them a profit. Modern and GB/D/USA content. They test the market with releases in other countries and I agree that it would be nice to see content from other countries but it very much depends on where developers are based. UK-based developers will generally research and build UK routes, DTG's German route-builders usually premier new German routes on the streams.

So I would say that the issue is that there aren't enough developers in other countries.

I would also urge those who want to see routes in other parts of the world to put together a detailed and compelling case for a specific route in the Suggestion thread that's a reasonable size for TSW and has a busy-enough service for the Timetable.

Or go one better, have a play with the editor and see if you can become a developer of routes and traction in your own country. That way everyone wins.

Eh ouais tonton, on est là pour faire entendre nos voix ! :D

It's understandable that people tend to go toward what made them railfans, hence the BR blue era passion.
I myself was at pain to leave the old french stock when switching from MSTS to Railworks once. Then I discovered the British railways. And now I love them ! Even prefer them over contemporary French railways.
There's nothing like the sleeper creeping through the WHL !
Plus, don't forget the W in TSW !

I definitely don't want less UK routes, but there are definitely some other countries that'd be amazing in TSW.

Switzerland has 3 routes, 2 of which are narrow gauge lines and the 1 standard gauge line we have is quite a poor attempt. There's so much potential in the Swiss railway network, from the Zurich S-Bahn to their own Pendolino trains.

I'd also love more Dutch routes, because the one line we do have is probably one of the least interesting lines in the country, even if it is well made.

Canada also has one route, and while there are gorgeous landscapes in Canada such as the Rocky mountains, the route that's been provided is a dead-straight peice of track through flat terrain, and the most interesting feature of that line, Go Transit, is nowhere to be seen. A freight line through the rockies might well be the only North American freight route I'd actually buy.

its not so much less UK routes for me, its the routes we got for the UK need to be better implemented, for example I want the Cardiff City DLC to be expanded into the Valleys so they can extend the runs. They not even used the whole of the Cardiff City Network, they missed Lanishan and Lisvane along the route. I gave my suggestion of what they can do and thats to go all the way up the valleys with atleast one Valley line. I think we can all get what we want, with more worldwide routes whilst also adding British routes. They have not added a lot of the London network routes in and many of them have good views.

This is kind of a matter of who you ask, I think! I’d guess that if you ask a French person, it’s probably correct, but if you ask a German, the answer would be incorrect so yeah, what do you expect? Exactly, they cater to the largest group, and I get that, it makes sense, right?! It’s one of those “you wouldn’t expect it” things, isn’t it?!

Given I stick to UK routes (have only ever dipped my toes into other countries), its a good thing for me that there's a lot.

If you want a specific route in a specific country then why not, you know, suggest tit instead of complaining.

DTG will always follow the money, as any business looking to make money will do, and they're UK based, so what they're doing is entirely reasonable.

Problem is, the Suggestions forum is pretty much an echo chamber these days. There have been numerous articulate and LAMPOIL evaluated ideas for routes in other than the big three countries but nothing has ever come of them.

That's what I did! You can see in the latest posts that I suggested a route that I described in detail. Maybe I'll add some photos later. I made several of them, but this one is the most detailed.

Problem is I think many of us who got the UK routes and German routes have expressed that they have poorly implemented the routes. Train Sim World 6 missis out on major routes, incluiding major routes from London out of London along GWR network to Bristol and so on. Like it or not like a someone said before, the devs are mostly UK based, and for me I want the UK routes to be implemented better.

    I agree to some extent.

Much as I like the Riviera Line and current ECML, the first GWR route should have been something like Reading to Bristol or Cardiff so we could run the 802's (and maybe an 800 too) at top speed and under the wires too. Likewise, ECML should have started from Kings Cross and gone to Peterborough then progressively been extended. There currently seems to real logic to the geographic scattergun approach to selection of UK (or for that matter German) routes, let alone leaving the comfort zone.

    The meaning of this is
    That the variation is poor
Because they focussing on two direct countries
But there are more interesting countries

No, I want more UK routes (less German routes - ok, sort of kidding but I was pissed at having to buy TSW6 with the UK route and 220 with it also including the DE and US routes which I don't plan on using).

To repeat what a few folks have said earlier though, they need to do a better job with them - the whole Euston to Milton Keynes debacle, the waste of space that is the Cardiff "network" where let's be honest, most folks bought it for the 153/150 ;)

The problem with going into other countries is that since the Devs are mostly from the UK that they gotta obtain licenses for adding the trains, networks and companies into TSW. Its not like ringing up said Dutch company and going "Oh hey can we add your trains and company name to our game"

Obtaining licenses can be expensive and then there's the extra issue of mapping the route because to obtain the accurate layout of train stations anad the lines, all that does take money to do. Its a lot easier for them to add in new routes and expand on existing routes from liceneses that they already have.

Well Cardiff City network is personal to me since I live close to said network and a welsh lad. I just want them to do better with it and there's a lot they can do with it, like I said before, they should go and complete atleast one or two valley routes. They can go along the Rhynmney to Pernath/Barry Island route. If anyone wonders why the Rhymney line its because they can add in Caerphilly castle on the route for players too look at.

I totally agree with you, but the problem with German routes as well is the lack of variation of trains. So far we only get the same types of trains in every new route that has been released. The same applies for the UK routes.

Here is a list of trains I want to see in future releases for Germany:
    - DB BR 412 (ICE 4)
    - DB BR 440 (DB, BWEGT livery)
    - Traxx BR 186
    - Siemens Desiro HC (BR 462) in DB or BWEGT livery
    - Stadler Flirt 3
    - Siemens Mireo (DB or BWEGT livery)
    - Stadler Euro series locomotives
    - Bombardier Twindexx
And the list can go on. Heritage locomotives are also nice.

What we also need is metro subway routes. We only got London Underground. We need subway routes like in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Lisbon, etc.

Yes, that's exactly right! I'd also like to see the DB BR 412, 440 and 462 in the game instead of always recycling the already existing trains. And yes, as you said, having more metro lines would be great! Personally, it's mainly a Paris metro line that I'd love to see in TSW, like the line 6 with the MP89 trains.

You mean too much England content right? Because the rest of uk doesn’t have many routes, 3 Scottish, 1 whales and no Northern Ireland yet

If the infrastructure is still in place at Rhymney they could emulate the loco hauled peak services from a few years ago. Bit of 37 thrash all stations up the Valley.

From the viewpoint of a German customer whose focus lies mostly on German and Austrian trains, I agree... partly.

We have a lot of German routes at this point, but many of them just feel incredibly similar. Double-track, electrified main routes heading from one large-ish city to another. That's probably the reason why routes like Niddertalbahn or Mittenwaldbahn feel like a breath of fresh air, because they are different. That's why I'm anticipating the upcoming Czech route more than Stuttgart-Heilbronn, despite the latter including the more "attractive" rolling stock (in my eyes). It's good to see more and more 3rd party developers coming in, bringing new ideas and covering different countries. :)

The thing is that Germany would offer much more variety, there's a huge amount of interesting and unique routes all over the country! Smaller, single-track routes, electrified or not, some double-track diesel-only main routes... I could post a list of dozens of potential routes, each of them an amazing addition to the game, each of them being unique in its own way.

The current selection of routes we've got makes the German rail network seem more bland than it actually is/was. :|

Let's see what else the future holds. Stuttgart-Heilbronn is another generic electrified main route, and only the 140 makes it a must-have for me. I'm much, much more curious about what kind of route TSG is currently cooking up ;)

It was a subtle, jocular hint that the country to which you is spelled "Wales".

I'm not Welsh, so it doesn't matter too much to me but some of our members in Wales may be a little unhappy. Just as some of our members were keen for us all to show a distinction between Northern and The Republic of Ireland. Nobody is here to pull people up for spelling or grammar but misnaming a country, especially one so close to home could cause offence.
