Hard to do without any electrification on the Great Western, I'm afraid! ;)

Your post is very interesting given that the class 377/4 is 4 train unit should we look for specific marker boards to stop at or is it just a case of pull up at far end of a platform also how does the SElective door opening on 377/s work?

Unless they did do the electrification for the third rail units from Waterloo. Haven't checked. Would be a very short drive of a few hundred yards though

I thought it was electrified lol those overhead cable things and after all there are the station/train improvement posters at numerous GWR stations which led me to believe we,d see something good come of old tired gwr line such as making available more areas to go in a similar fashion to the upcoming Brighton/seaford dlc with numerous tracks as that’s definitely room for improvement as no end of tracks on gwr to reading route where tracks branch off in umpteen directions often leaving me thinking if only good change points and drive down those to explore

Yea that’s another good point with having already got London Paddington they could easily expand on London offering and give us something to other areas such as London to blackpool

Good point we got Paddington so they could extend to Waterloo and to other destinations from there even if having to make up fictional rail companies

Well, even if, the 377/4 is prepared for the addition of pantographs, but it doesn't actually have any installed, so it requires thirst.. eh, third rail for its juice.

Also, on GWE, the overhead wires are still under construction, only present intermittenly, and not yet activated. (In fact, TSW didn't even support electric trains yet when GWE came out) So even pantographs wouldn't help a lot :D

Another good way to expand further would be for dtg to add the line that goes to hove train station and extended out to Gatwick airport

Brighton Mainline is one of the most requested routes for TSW, and something I would abolutely die for. It's a bit too long for DTG's taste unfortunately, and I've heard Claphamn Junction might cause issues for lower end hardware as well. Not sure whether I buy that one, just do it like Jamaice: Fewer trains. Won't feel entirely realistic, but better than nothing, is it?

The West Coastway toward Southampton, I suggested myself, and it wasn't too badly received as well.

That's what DTG tell us. Is it true? Nobody knows because we still don't have an editor.

Well from looking at the routes it's obvious they take SOME more work than the TS2020 ones, so much we can take for granted. Only how much exactly? Hard to say.

They must be working well in advance as 3 more potential routes have popped up on the steam database ( read from another post)

Those new DLC entries could be anything. From route addons to loco DLC. Even scenario packs, that would be a pleasant suprise :). Cheers

Three routes, even three locos at a time, that would be odd. And probably not very smart either, they'd steal each others attention. My guess is they are just placeholders for future releases.

Scenario packs, well... one for the UK, one for America, one for Germany, that would add up, but... well we'll have to wait and see.

    Unless of course, it is

    -the route editor
    -the vehicle editor
    -and the scnerario/timetable editor!

Yes, the software is made by Epic who dont have console versions!
I have heard Matt state this many times on his TSW streams.

Can confirm. Does Sony know that, though? ^^

Edit: Yep, seems like they do.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to in regards to the editor is having to install Epic's Store thing. But TSW might be one of the very few thing I might be willing to make an exception for :D

The way DTG do things is the hint on the Wednesday and the trailers and articles on either the Tuesday or the Thursday

Source for that statement? I haven't seen anything from DTG that points to a stream on said day.

Nope.. only Brighton to Eastbourne, plus the Seaford branch. "Seaside Spectacular" will come without the spectacular seaside part...

Why otherwise would they be releasing shorter routes and at a less frequent interval than with TS1, especially with the comments about route length? You can tell from the routes and trains that more detail is involved.

It would have been nice if we could have turned left out out Brighton station through the tunnel and headed out through Shoreham over the river Adur to maybe Worthing. Lots more train movement then. Just dreaming though. :)
Edit: I wonder if the AI trains will take that route? I'm assuming there'll be trains heading towards London.

Nevertheless it could be an interesting route I might end up getting at some point.

East Coastway was listed on steam since (I believe) Q1 of this year. The actual development time attributed, no-one knows. But quite clearly the planning starts almost a year in advance.

I know most people want the extension to Ore. I personally also want Lewes - Haywards Heath. Not quite sure what the 66 is going to do on a 7-mile banta-bout. 10-15 minute trip down, run around and load aggregate, then 10-15 min trip back up to Lewes and dissapear into a portal?

Good point on the subject of details what is the likelihood that the class 377/4 emu sounds for the Brighton line actually be modelled on the bombardier Mitrac controller equipment and is part of the development process actually to get up close with actual class 377 for the purposes of recording the traction sounds?

From what I have read AP have some involvement in the sounds, certainly in recent releases the sounds have been pretty good in my opinion so I don't have any reason they won't be good for this release. As far as I am aware they are recorded from the actual trains they are modelling. I am sure I have seen posts or topics on here regarding the process of getting recordings from trains. I am sure on Youtube there is a video from AP on the subject too.

That's a good shout. If the line up to Haywards Heath was modelled, you could join an Ore train to a Littlehampton train there and cross platforms to take an Eastbourne or Ore service back, or drive the peak time Seaford to Victoria service to Haywards Heath (and vice-versa). There would also be scenario potentials too, like a Brighton train being diverted via Lewes due to emergency engineering works or something.

It really does feel like only modelling Eastbourne to Brighton (and the Seaford branch) is quite limiting.

Am I correct in thinking that the hourly Ashford International to Brighton services, usually formed of a Class 170 Turbostar, were purged from the timetable a while back? Does that mean that the are no regular DMU services along the East Coastway and services are now always 377s and 313s?

Many thanks for your help and answer it’s human nature to at times take things for granted and just see the finished product ie the class 377 emu but I feel that the information discovered and knowing what goes into the development helps us to appreciate these things even more in fact what surprised me was in doing research discovering that bombardier no longer make electrostar trains last one having came off the production line last year and also doing research into the bombardier mitrac electronics systems and it surprised me to learn how many similarities there are between these systems and milkfloat control systems which reminded me of days when I drove my dads milkfloats when he was a. Milkman

The Class 171-operated services were cut back to Eastbourne due to overcrowding, so the East Coastway does see regular DMU services but mostly through the section that isn't modelled.

Alright. So the Eastbourne-Ore section has
-The most interesting scenery along the East Coastway
-The most varied passenger services along the East Coastway
-The need to change direction mid-service
-And even if that means nothing, 25 more kilometers to enjoy
-All that it takes to make this DLC great for so much more than "only" bringing electricity to Britain.

Now guess what we won't we getting. Dovetail at its finest...

Why haven't they put the 313 in? They are the main train used in that route. (I'm still happy they have got one in my area).
