What routes would count as "Northern" in this context? Is this a geographical reference, or an actual train line with liveries, like Cross Country or Midland? (To be clear I'm agreeing with you, this is directed at the original poster)
I made a thread a long while back about a diesel legends northern pack with the 195, 150/1 & 156. Feel like it would be nice to have a northern rail route with new northern rail stock in the game as the 323 is repetitive and it bores me out. id like to see a 195 definitely with its ZF Ecolife transmission and acceleration!
Leeds to York would do for a 195. A 156 would be at home around the Carlisle area. 150/1s probably Sheffield.

Pretty sure the OP means the rail operator of that name. In theory you could do a pacer/sprinter timetable for NTP, and maybe one for TVL too? But a suggestion that's more guessing game than solid suggestions isn't going to get anywhere.
Yeah, I'd need to see what trains in what livery for what routes to make it a serious proposal. trainfanuk#8324 Is the goal to make it sort of like the XC 170 pack?
I think that there is no chance that a pack would be made that contained 4 totally new types of traction. Most routes don't come with any new traction, some have one, some have one plus another at a cost and very rarely there's two.
The 150/2 we already have, albeit needing a few cosmetic changes into its Northern counterpart. So technically only three new trains needed. Although saying that, the 150/1 is also similar to the /2, the main difference being no gangway door at either end. So that means only really two new trains needed.
It would still take quite a bit of modelling to make a 150/1, you have the interior detail, the different cab layout, all of which would require new scripting which takes up a lot of time. 156, 195 and 319 adds up to more than 2 new classes of traction. Hence why I think this idea is highly unlikely. It would cost at least £50 for all the work needed. Building routes is currently quicker than making traction, that's why we rarely see more than 1 new type of traction with a standard route release.
Yea the 150/1 cabs are noticeably different to the /2. Main difference from what I’ve seen is the gangway and the back fuse panel. I work on 150’s at my depot and we get a good bunch.
[QUOTE="Wivenswold, post: 1068543, member: 4727"Building routes is currently quicker than making traction, that's why we rarely see more than 1 new type of traction with a standard route release.[/QUOTE] And the above limitation on the introduction of new rolling stock is why TSW fans who have areas or eras that they prefer get despondent and go a bit unhinged in these forums when the annual Dovetail Live has no releases that nudges the game towards their favourite area or era. Because some areas of Britain have unique traction and nearly all releases are only based in the very modern era (last 5 years) or are around the middle of the WCML area in the North West, sometimes both. And yes, I'm one of those who got unhinged in August.
