That is the whole point of a preview I guess. To make the content look excellent and entice us in. Hopefully it will be just as good in practice, but it clearly has not been an entirely smooth process.
I don't know enough about Skyhook to know if it's been a rough process... or they are just working on multiple projects and only have so many people on each one. Also shared staff often can "bottleneck" a process. For example if there's only one person doing X thing on a small team, there may be projects in the "queue" waiting for that one finishing piece with everything else done. Then the other devs move onto the next project. For all we know (not saying it IS mind you), most of the people on Cargo Line 5 could already be working on Cargo Line 6 while 5 is waiting for one or two final pieces (like say lighting or sounds or whatever) Often your workers move at different rates on different projects, so they don't all start and stop together. They go work on whatever their field is. That's just how project management often works and why we get some weird results with some projects being delayed while others unpredictably move forward or get done ahead of schedule, you have some times where nothing comes out and then you'll get two things done right close to one another. I get that feeling with this project. It's "mostly" done with just a couple things outstanding.
The video looks very interesting, definitely looking forward to it. One thing I thought looked a little strange though (and one of the commenters mentioned it too) aren't the 20s usually in a nose to nose formation?
I've certainly never seen the 20's operated in that formation sooooo is that a blunder? I also really hope Skyhook put a RHTT remote in the cab
Hi Everyone, Thanks for the interest in our latest release. Thanks for the question about the train formation. I have double checked and can confirm that the Scenario and Timetable gameplay has locomotives bonnet to bonnet in either double head or top and tail formations. I have checked through the formations that can be placed down in Free Roam mode and found that more than expected are in 'elephant' arrangement. We intended to provide a variety of locomotive arrangements in order to represent the varied operations that these locomotives are applied to, however we can update the formations to always be bonnet to bonnet if players wish.
Random question but will the DRS class 66 sub for the class 20?, only asking because it would be pretty cool and one of their formations is the same as the second photo just with 2 class 66s
For those that obsess about Choppers "always" going bonnet to bonnet, here's a little working I caught last year
Good spot but that's a light engine run not a freight run, it would not be practical to run a flask train in that formation
Love the video! Would love a 20 in the Green livery ngl, loved the Robin shots too real winter scene! I was more curious about the formations than anything else as I noticed they run bonnet to bonnet a lot so it kind of led me down the rabbit hole of if there was a reason for it Thankyou for that Adam It's cool the way SHG have included multiple formations. Really looking forward to this one, have all the time in the world for the 20!
Just saw on news feed release 18th nov 12.99. Wcml south 3 scenarios and 4 timetable jobs. Wcml os. 3 scenarios and 14 timetables. And Rivera route didn't mention jobs.
