Hi all, I gave the Formation Designer a go when it first came out and quickly gave up due to the mass of bugs and basic usablity issues (that camera...). I haven't really ever gone into it again since then, but today I thought I'd build a couple of custom formations to have blast down WCML South with. It would seem a year on from release: - the "Creators Club" tab is still completely empty and so you can't create formations using custom liveries - formations made of only coaches or wagons still don't show up in game to be plonked on the track - you can still create formations using stock with incompatible couplers and scratch your head as to why they won't appear in game (eg a Class 87 + HST set in tow, which works in real life, but not in game since the HST only has an adapter for buckeye / knuckle couplers and not for traditional couplers) Am I missing something really obvious or does the Formation Designer just... not work? Is the Public Editor the only way to create actual custom formations? Can they be created as standalone content or do they need to be made as part of a scenario? And most importantly, can they then be picked in free roam / timetable mode? Cheers, JB
Hi jivebunny Have you read this thread? It might help you. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/tsw6-formation-designer-broken.95030/
Hi, Thanks, turns out i found that same thread last night and resolved my issue. The "UGCLivery Substitutions" and "UGCFormation Substitutions" options under Advanced Settings don't work properly. They're supposed to prevent AI trains from using Creators' Club liveries and formations, but what they actually do is prevent you from using them entirely... Yet another broken feature that'll never get fixed! JB
