Now THAT is some good news, very much appreciated!

So we WILL after all get seasick, even without much of seaside included? ;)

"for all content", so I suppose all routes, all trains. This will be a seperate update for all by the way, you don't need ECW to get it. At least that's how I understood it.

Speculation alert: The class 66 freighters take up strangely much screentime in the trailer, perhaps they will play a bigger part than we thought initially.

    Initial impressions:

Looks stunning. The 377 looks very well modelled. Great to see scrolling electronic displays on the front of the trains. Shame there doesn’t appear to be scrolling text on the displays on the side of the train, just the name of the destination. In the trailer it looks like passengers can actually pass through the ticket barriers at Brighton??!

Head sway should be brilliant and applied to ALL routes not just this one is a great addition and something I didn’t expect.

The bogies on the JUA wagons look to be the wrong type to anyone else?

Think they're actually JNAs, then the bogies are right.

Not so fast, head sway isn't cab sway or a working suspenision. It just means your head (not the train) has some inertia to it when you brake, accelerate or go into a turn. ;)

From inside the cab while sitting in the driver's seat it will probably almost look like it did though, so that's still something.

Not wanting to risk anargument yet again, but what's so special about the 377 being out of production? I believe every single train in TSW is.

On the subject of east coastway does it cost DTG a lot of money to obtain the license to use southerns name and reproduce there trains?

Well that's the classic example of trade secrets. We will never know, companies don't talk about that. Just so much, it will be enough to make DTG consider which one to buy and which one not, but not enough to see gilded handrests or free champaign on Southern services in the future :)

The trailer for this route really has got me excited, but the additions of journeys for RSN and WSR and head sway being added to every route has me so pumped not only for this route but has me excited to get into all the others as well. Happy early Christmas everyone!!

    Head sway: Real talk?

Jokes aside, looking forward to both the release and the update. The 377 looks great!

Already got working suspension. Thats why some people thought cab sway was implemented already but to a lesser degree than tsxx.

Not sure what you're looking for then :)

There is already a suspension model in the game, you can see it on e.g. the HST at 125mph where you can see the horizon shaking up and down, or if you look at the corridor connectoins between the vehicles and can see them moving independently of each other.

The "cab sway", "head sway" or whatever you want to call it is the last piece of the puzzle - decoupling the camera from the motion of the train so you now see the whole cab shaking around a bit at high speed, feel it when you accelerate or haul on the brakes, or go around corners too quickly.

The 101 is great fun, changing up the gears and feeling the acceleration and braking through the movements of the cab on-screen.

Yea but looking on bright side we can only repair southerns reputation and run services that A turn up and B run them on time

Rather than buying on release, if you're on PC you can preorder it for a 10% discount.

I wonder if head sway will have an 'intensity' slider or can be toggled?

Either way I am happy it will be added to the game....it will certainly add to the immersion.

Now add dynamic weather and I'll be one happy chappy

Very nice description of all stations from Eastbourne to Brighton. The trailer shows such a nice landscape. I'm exited about the scrolling passenger information system displays. The ferry boat in the trailer looks very nice too. Perhaps we will see it moving. There's loading action for freight train at Newhaven Harbour. I can't wait to drive the trains and roam trough the stations there. Very good work DTG.

looking good but for me we need more people in the game, passengers and general public, groups of people with children/pushchairs, walking the streets etc? also trains should be waiting to leave stations with doors open at all times like real life, allowing passengers to board until you leave? GWE you arrive at am empty station, open the doors then around 30people come down onto the platform but none get on? its so bizarre takes away the realism.

Another thing that’s peaked. My interest reading articles online this week on the seaford branch line they have carried out a resignalling project to re control the area to three bridges signalling centre so it will prove interesting to see what the signalling will be like on the Seaford branch as to whether it will be as was ie mix of colour signals and semophores or fully new westcad based signalling reflecting the recent works

In this case this might be exactly what I imagined. I always thought that motion the HST made was something else... because why would only the HST shift and bob so much as it moves.

One question though, will headsway also be notable when riding trains as a passenger, both seated and standing/walking in the aisle?

Hmm, interesting idea. But you're right, when I railfan (or watch YouTube videos), I notice the train sways and shakes around when it is approaching. Even in the original TS20 cab away is featured, so it was a good idea from DTG to FINALLY bring that to TSW!

When I ride Metrolink, I also notice train sway, so it would be nice for DTG to add this extra feature to TSW.

From what Matt has said in the past I think head sway was always intended to be implemented in TSW, it's just taken them a few years to actually implement it. It took a couple of years to implement proper physics for the diesel locos (ie. on CSX Heavy Haul) which I'm sure was always intended from the start as well. All gradual improvements like this that make TSW feel more realistic are a welcomed addition.

Also, that's a great route teaser video.
