Has anyone been able to change the 802 from electric to diesel? I spawned it into the ECML and it appeared with panto up on electric. When I switch to diesel, the panto comes down and I hear the engines spool up, but I cannot get it to move. Note: the brakes do fully release when moving the throttle into power, but I do not hear any engine spool up. If I switch back to electric, I can get the train to move again.

Try switching to diesel mode and activating the engine using the other cab, I think one side is bugged and doesn't send commands to the engines properly

Thanks, I will try that. Meantime I tested in the 5 and 9 car variants and it works. So just 10 car and 18 car variants it doesn't seem to work.

Yes that works, thanks! So enter the other cab, insert master key, reverser to neutral, press start engine, press diesel (hear engine spool up). Then reverser back to off and master key out, switch cab back to first cab and I can move the train under diesel power.

Thanks for this, just took me about 15 minutes to get the 802 to move. Seems it's completely broken if you try to drive it from the "rear" cab. In addition to these power issues, it seems the rear marker lights at the opposite end don't come on either, and only half the train is powered (or at least that's what it sounds like in electric mode)

    Cheers,

    JB

I'm testing it on the Paddington line and doesn't switch from over head to diesel on either side it will start up but refusing to use diesel power very disappointed.

Yeah no joy at Paignton either... spawned, attempted to start.... nada. Even tried raising the panto!
T'was right before bedtime so poured myself a brandy, toasted the programmers (that route's been pretty good), slept well.

Yes, switching between traction modes is bugged in the formations with a nose to nose connection eg 10/18 car formations.

Works well, from either end, in 5/9 car formations.

    It should work at Paddington.

Make sure you are 5 or 9 car formation and start the engine or use the diesel button in reverser neutral.

I just did a run from Paddington and it was fine.

Started on the diesel then switched to the overheads, worked well.

*Also worth noting that i could only do this from cab B up top, not cab A (but could drive from cab A forward if i fired up engine in B) and also that if you chose to go from overheads to no overheads on line, then you need to switch to diesel before the change, or you will get unrecoverable throttle lockout.

It's all a bit buggy obviously!!

You can also get the 10/18 car versions going in diesel mode, but you have to fire up the engine from the very rear cab in the train first. Then toggle between modes a bit up front to clear the throttle interlock.

Steeled myself and did a load of bug reports for the 802 today.

Probably pointless and I have rather given up doing them recently, but as I liked the route apart from the issues with this train, I thought I would put the effort in.

Would this go on the Riviera Line feedback thread since the 802 is packaged with that?

Definitely worth adding, for all the good it will do.

I did send them a bug report explaining everything, after spending much time trying to figure out exactly what was going on. Again, for all the good it will do.
