Here is a question for you Liam. Has it been hard to pick when to actually walk away or step back from your GWE project or are you still going to fiddle with it?

Haven't touched the missions/scoring/timetable for it. Just visuals to keep it looking good on the route.

It's been hard to finally get to a point where I'm 'done' with it. But I think it's finally at a point now where nothing else can been added to it.

To those of you always complaining about rivets and color shades, this is where your pursuit of absolute authenticity has brought us.

Opps good spot! That was a pretty big typo. Toilets will NOT be enterable. It's all audio magic and particle effects.

Just like on a real train if you are waiting to use the bog which is locked and vacated, you'll here some suspicious sounds emitting from the cubicle along with a cough or two!

Will you be able to get out and pick some up and fling it at passing turbos? At Christmas will it sing Mr Hanky?

I'm glad that the 'no toilets' TSW meme lives on, but now, one of the first things I'm going to do is try and find this 'waste particle effect'. Are they available on AI trains as well?

    I'm a normal human I promise!

Not to mention non-functional dashboard clock on the MML version (or maybe that is prototypical....)

IMG_0698.jpeg Will the 166 FGW livery be added to formation designer ? Currently it’s one coach and not usable in formation designer and has no other formations.

I doubt it because its not even supposed to be there, although the unbranded one might be. Although with that branded 1 coach one we have now; you can spawn in another one facing the other direction and couple them together just fine, although you obviously can't use them in scenario planner

As part of the upgrade, will the class 31 be open to livery designer or will it get a new livery. I guess the same question for the class 166?

Probably not for the class 31 since it’s only a layer and not actual part of diesel legends

for the 166 will most likely get it

I hope the class 31 is open to the livery editor, it is a nice looking train, a BR blue train.

I know and I love the 31 but I’m just being a bit realistic most times they don’t update layer stuff in a pack

Yeah the 31's a Tees Valley, it's most likely Liam hasn't even thought about touching it, quite a can of worms to open.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it stated that class 166 will not recieve LD functionality?

I suspect that it will update automatically like WSR did. If you want to stick to the original for whatever reason, you’ll need to use TSW5 or earlier. I just hope it isn’t ruined by blurry textures as this is still one of my favourite routes.

I have a concern about GWE Remaster, is it going to affect my OCD? Is a nice green train going to have like an odd blue carrage or powercar bolted onto it?

Only 1 formation running multiple services in the timetable has mixed Mk3's.

In general the Class 43s were semi-fixed consists; coaches were only swapped out if one required depot work. So mixed liveries were quite rare. The same also applies to the Networkers, though a two-train double might have had green and blue ends.

Not to the GWE HST's or 166s. I am looking into it for the HST Farewell pack though.

Why not? You have the choice to turn them off (yes, I know, turning them off didn't actually turn them off for a while but that should be fixed now). So I say, yes please because it's supposed to be a new feature (and I'm tired of new features being not really features but once, twice, then abandoned), and then all players have a choice of faults or not via the options, instead of simply not at all for anyone.

I never understand why people point out the obvious like this, as if we don't know how conversation between unique individuals works...

My "Why not?" question was an invitation to expand on the logic behind saying no, don't implement train faults, even though it's an optional feature so players wouldn't be forced to deal with the faults anyway. So out of genuine interest, what detriment would implementing train faults bring to the game for you personally if you simply leave them turned off and never experience them?

Maybe because of the fear we will get a repeat of the bug where faults do happen despite being turned off in settings? To be fair I think if that's where your way of thinking is coming from then I agree, it's a genuine concern, with DTG's track record of abandoning bugs. I'm trying to be optimistic, though.

I am probably just being difficult to be honest.

Mostly through the frustration at another poorly implemented new feature being rolled out to the neglect of a plethora of outstanding issues, which I would have placed more emphasis on sorting prior.

If it works and is not to the detriment of anything else, then I guess it makes no difference to me and I have them off anyway, as you say.

I totally get it. As much as I like the idea of random events of different kinds, I'd have liked them to put serious effort into upping skillset and improving the core, and establishing consistency across all routes, etc.

I don't know if it's just me thinking this, though, but does anyone else see an improvement in bug fixing and patching the game? We seem to have got more fixes, and faster, than in the past. Or maybe it's always been that way in the first few months after release...

Just a question does anyone have any idea roughly when the remaster might release? And in terms of Southall shed that is still used for locos on railtours can you access it in game and will there be anything playable/functional about it?

Southall shed got a new model and full revamp, with both a player spawn point and services in the new timetable.

My only experience with faults have been with the 220 but I absolutely despise how often the engines would cut out and you'd have to restart. If that would be the same issue for the HST it would be far more frustrating as that would be basically half your power gone (I'm assuming). Saying that, it would suit the 802s quite well. I've read they tend to have 1-2 engines not working even in service, so it's not really abnormal. Now that would be pretty neat. I read a cool thread on RF which says the 802s have a special mode specifically for the Dawlish Sea Wall which allows the driver up to 10 attempts to restart any of the engines as opposed to the usual 2.

As you have mentioned to do, I have turned off the faults. TSRs are pretty fun though.

I'm sure Liam and/or an article will highlight this once ready and finalised but I'm seeing some crazy amount of numbers for both playable and AI only services on GWE, with this remaster.

I can confidently say the GWML now actually feels busy and not like a ghost-town! Keep an eye out on those signals whilst driving - don't get caught out! (I totally didn't drive past a red signal because I was too busy looking at all the other trains passing!) ;):D

    Sounds great in theory.

A worry for us console plebs though, if recent busy timetables seeming impact on performance is anything to go by.

I never got around to playing Diesel Legends and when I was finally in a position I heard about the remaster, so I put playing Diesel Legends on the long finger in order to play it in its full remastered glory...just have to wait now. Then playing with the HST, the HST add on pack and is 484 tube? And all the new cargo packs.

I am off for 2 weeks at Christmas...just saying :)

I've said a few times that I'm working on making it playable on consoles and that it's currently with the beta team now. So I'm not really sure what the point is of your multiple complaints and criticism about a free update with an optional extended timetable that's not even released yet.

Not those exact services, but some very similar for the Flying Scotsman and a 47, along with some shunting and formation creation services around Southall.

It is little wonder that the likes of Liam don't want to do anything else free in their spare time if even they aren't immune from criticism whilst doing so!

I am happy to wait for it to be ready as it will go from being an unplayed route to being one of the most used routes.
