It can't have always been like this........Can it? Jump in the 2-car CL101, Start Up the Unit, Put the LHS headlight to White. Look at the wipers through the windscreen or look at the cab from an outside camera. Everything is OK. Go back into the cab and turn the RHS headlight to White. Look through the windscreen as you do this and you may see the wiper change appearance. Use an outside camera and you might see a red and green hue on the wiper. Then also look at the centre of the unit and you may see a green square on the top of one corridor connector. See images below. Taken at dusk/night because the 'effect' is easier to see. (Third picture = default livery). Anyone else see this? I've never noticed this before today For me it happens on both default and CC liveries. Route selected seems irrelevant. However I do run a modded system so I may need to remove everything and see if that makes any difference. (I also need to double check the 3-car DMU to see if it is the same). Oh and I'm still on TSW5 (as I wanted to finish a couple of projects using the unofficial editor before upgrading).
Really??? Crikey I need to go to Specsavers Can honestly say I've never noticed it before. (It also affects the 3 car unit in the same way). So nothing to do with mods, Creative Centre liveries or anything else?
Yeah I've noticed it on all the 101's. I assumed it was a mod but I've got no mods on tsw6 and it's still the same. I don't think I have any cc livery installed for the 101. I just don't use that light.
I believe the JT Preston - Carlisle version is immune from this. Sadly that version doesn't seem to like being dead hauled, even by locos with vac brakes.
I also forgot to say that you also get red door handles on the driving coach as well. (You can see one affected handle in the middle picture and a hint of it in the lower picture). I'll do some experimenting when I get a moment. In the end I've chosen to substitute with a CL166 for my scenario on the WSR. If you're interested in seeing a busier WSR then you could do worse than look at this thread. Diesel Day At Minehead
There used to be a mod on TSC which fixed it, but I can’t find it now. It appears to be related to the white lights on the front (when you switch them off, the problems goes away) and so you can work around it by putting red lights on the front instead of whites. That sounds drastic, but actually the white and red lights on the front of the TSW 101 look extremely similar. I find you can barely tell the difference.
I still can't believe that I've never noticed this before today. Thanks for your help James. Anyway now that a mod has banished this thread from the main forum I doubt if anyone else will see it. Perhaps DTG were too embarrassed to see yet another thread referring to an issue that they should've fixed by now.
Outrageous cynicism, Spikeyorks. DTG’s support for the LGBTQ community, with their innovative rainbow windscreen wiper, thrown back in their face.
