At the end of October when DTG released the 2026 update they corrupted the asset files for a few 3rd party creators. It took until the 14th of November for you to acknowledge the issue. It has been almost a month since the update that broke these DLC. They are depriving myself and others of the use of our purchased DLC. Thankfully, individuals such as Spikee 1975 have posted workarounds to moderate this and I thank him for his efforts to make these playable. Seriously, taking a month to correct this mistake is ludicrous. It is a slap in the face those who have been loyal supporters of you for 16 years. I know that you have other priorities, but you built DTG on TSC. Have a little respect.
At this point, I don't think DTG care about TSC any longer. It's not what's making them money any more. Also... as Spikee is no longer a member, you can't find his posts any longer, so whatever he posted is not going to be of much use to anyone.
Spikee is still active on other fora. Here is the information needed for the recent bodged yearly update (albeit scattered across separate posts). https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/3/614304582404824117/
Actually you can find his posts - he just left the forums - so it shows up as a Guest. A lot of what he posted is still applicable. This thread was started by Spike https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/south-lancashire-north-cheshire-phase-6-released.86965/
After poking the bear, finally a response from Alex at DTG. "Update - 26th November 2025 Hello everyone, To keep you all updated, our teams are still testing ongoing improvements we can make to improve the experience detailed above, but we've not been able to find a solution we can implement for this week. We're currently targeting next week, and we'll continue to keep you updated on any progress we're able to make, and what impact/change that will bring. Thank you for remaining patient." As usual, the we are working on it and don't know how to fix it yet comments. This has been going on for over 30 days. There should some sort of compensation for the loss of the play-ability of our DLC for the past 30 days. Does not the EU provide for some sort of compensation in an instance such as this?
How hard is it to push out the correct files? Answer: easy. If you've got them. I suspect they've had a versioning breakdown and don't have/can't find the right files, so they are having to go out to the 3rd parties to get replacements. This will take time, as will testing to ensure things work when put together properly. This is speculation, but I don't see how else things could take so long.
Or it could be DTG can't spare anyone from their other endeavors to fix this. Is it just some intern working on a laptop out of a spare water closet 2 days a week. Rivit Games cutting support costs.
Why don’t they just revert the changes back to the old version or do as SCS with the truck games, have beta branches where you can elect to stay on older versions (caveat emptor obviously) that don’t break or invalidate mods or in this case content. One reason why I am reluctant to dive back into any sort of route building for TSC. It’s not the first time DTG have done this either, way back in the 20teens they did an update which completely nerfed the signalling on my pseudo Aussie route, all the links and other data had to be re input to fix it. However the DTG response is classic marketing speak, for the only programmers we have left are either working on Metro Rivals or desperately trying to unravel the latest spaghetti mess in TSW!
Come on DTG, finally fix the headlight flares, something that has been asked for quite a number of times. What once worked in all older versions prior to v77.6b, no longer works correctly. It should not have to take the player's to modify files or revert to an even older build to enjoy headlight flares officially. If features remain broken in later versions of the core, then what is the point if playing the newer core builds if something as simple as headlights/marker light flares do not function properly
Honestly: I have seen how updates over the years was managed. I also have seen how updateds vom 3rd party was handled, 3rd party telled they send one in, DTG telled we dont know anything, and years later it came out. And we see it in TSW how it is managed. The biggest issues got fixed so the loudest shitstorm keeps calm. So dont expect any update this year. Perhaps at the end of 2026 when they get the idea: hey lets bring TS Classic 2027.
I can make no sense of anything he's written. That's it... I'm done. It's been a good ride, but this is just taking the **** now. So many things are broken this is just not fun any longer. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
Anything using the JT common library, which constitutes a great many things I enjoy in the game. Just tired of wrestling with it. I don't have the time these days.
If you have any DLC bought directly from JT that includes their Common Library downloading it would give you the current version.
The latest TSC update doesn't work with JT common library, so unless DTG fix it, there's not much I can do. Kind of done with it any way... the game's clearly on it's last legs, and just don't have the time to start trying to fix things myself these days, so time to move on.
Why is anyone using the latest update if it's partly broken? I'm using version 72.3b with no problems.
It fixed a memory problem with quick drive creation, where TS would crash if the scenario tracks bin got larger than 4gb. So for me there is no going back.
Well here we are in the middle of the week for the "magic fix" and still crickets. I feel sorry for that poor intern that is stuck with this project. Two days left. Read the book "Improbable Tales by DTG". Story by Willie Makeit, illustrations by Betty Dont.
