Look out for more info shortly. (Original first thread post underneath). Just me messing about in Scenario Planner again. Not quite sure what I'm trying to achieve yet
Have swapped the CL101 for my CL33+4TC combo for something a bit different. As usual everything you can see here has been created using Scenario Planner and a new paths mod that I'll release shortly. Enjoy
And a few more; This scenario is proving to be very challenging as I have an AI service in front of me and one behind but am still hoping to pass other services on a single line. We'll see what happens
And a few more on the way to Blue Anchor with the CL33 propelling When propelling you need to have a 'special' formation so that the game still picks up the player loco as being at the rear. However, to see anything, you have to drive using the external camera views which adds another dimension of course, (You can still sit in the cab if you want though).
And arrival at Washford. There appears to be an annoying bug on this route which is that all AI services run through the buffers on most sidings due to fact that siding markers have been run up to the very end of the track each time. Lack of thought when the route was originally created I'm afraid. On a similar subject, all portals have been given the same name "Portal" which means they cannot be used either in scenario creation. Again a fault in the creation of the original route. Enjoy
Managed to get passed the AI service in front of me (the CL52 which left Minehead in front of us). So now I want to see if I can get the one behind me to catch me up. (However I think that the lack of signals / sections will be beat me on that one). So on to Watchet we go It really is 'interesting' driving the train from the back and having to judge speed limits and station stops from there.
Some new arrivals to the WSR have been added to Minehead Diesel Day. I wonder if PinzaDave can spot them? Minehead is very busy now.
Nice to see that someone saved the Pacer prototype! Love the work you do with opening up these routes, David, truly inspirational. Latest livery upload inspired by your Edinburgh - Glasgow revamp. Class 255...
Cheers Dave. Actually this scenario really is coming along now. There won't be another one like it Have tweaked Minehead a little bit more now but the main work has been at Williton where, once more, poor naming of sidings (or not naming them at all) has made things much harder to succeed. But, despite that, I don't think I have done too bad here Starting with Minehead and the beginning of the scenario again. One more diesel exhibit on show here. Enjoy
And then onto Williton. Where there is now some activity in the sidings. A bit of a wait here for a passing service.
Finally we get to Bishops Lydeard where we are overtaken by the HST that was picking up passengers in Minehead when we departed. It is now heading for Taunton and then Bristol.
Some more pictures from Bishops Lydeard. Will need to fill up the sidings here a bit and maybe add a couple more AI services and then the scenario will be finished. As always everything you can see has been placed using the normal In-Game Scenario Designer. Special formations have been taken from my existing Formations Mods and extra paths will be available from a new mod that I will be uploading to TS Community shortly. I will also provide a link page to all the liveries used, assuming I can remember then, to make life easier for anyone who wants to experience the full works.
Absolutely outstanding! This is how it should be. I've never understood why sidings and yards have been left desolate and inaccessible. Got to love a 'Falcon' though
Spent a good few hours trying to create the AI at Bishops Lydeard. (Had to create some new formations to get anything 'interesting' to work). I just wanted to have some AI moving whilst the player was waiting for the HST to catch up. Have only tested the AI without the player so far so. knowing my luck, it won't work when I put the whole thing together !!! Placing this Skipper was a nightmare (and needed a special formation). Two more DMUs resting in the carriage shed. An interloper runs in from Norton and then reverses out of the station to the sidings. Enjoy
That was the cue for a CL101 DMU to come out of the shed and set back into the station. Before a pair of CL20s appear from the headshunt and slowly worked their way to the station. (Passing the 4F en-route). Now for the final run through
Test runs complete. A couple of extra tweaks tested (1 worked, 1 didn't). Extra interest added at Washford and Bishops Lydeard. So I now think this scenario, and my paths mod, is now complete Just got to work out what to upload now. (Sometimes that takes longer than creating the mod in the first place). Four car CL101 now passed at Blue Anchor. Extra wagons and locos placed at Washford. A Skipper can now be seen at Williton. Enjoy
Further into the scenario then you can now see Flying Scotsman at Williton. Whilst waiting for a Minehead service to pass. Stogumber is still a lovely place to stop and enjoy the scenery. Running into Crowcombe nearing the end of our journey. Finally arriving at Bishops Lydeard to unload our passengers. However keep the doors open and you may see a few more AI services before you end the scenario. Enjoy
At Bishops Lydeard there is lots to see this Diesel Day. (So don't close your player service doors otherwise the scenario will end early and you'll miss it all). A visiting Western & a pair of HST Power cars. Some more DMUs. Even a bit of steam. Afterall it is a busy day on the WSR. Enjoy
Finally a Choc & Cream DMU, a pair of 20s and an HST put in an appearance before the scenario comes to an end. Enjoy
Hopefully this will be uploaded shortly and, if you are up for the challenge, you will see the WSR in a new light TBH I'm quite pleased with how this has turned out. As always everything you can see here has been placed using the in-game Scenario Planner with the addition of my extra paths and extra formations mods. Creative Centre liveries then make everything look that bit more colourful.
4TC Formation and Livery Files now up on Creative Centre. Links to files below (or on page 1 of this thread). I'd be interested to see if anyone can get this to work. Remember the driving loco is at the rear of the formation. Formation File - 4TC (403) with CL33 propelling. Hi David, Downloaded the 33 and 4TC set and had a play. I really have ignored the Class 33 since it is not a favourite of mine and it is also unpaintable. What I could do with a re-paintable Class 33! The set is really good and gives the impression of a genuine push-pull train. I have noticed one issue. In both TSW5 and TSW6, the TFK (S70846) does not appear in Blue/Grey but in its original Blood & Custard. Thank you for this experimental set. I would say it is a great success and hope to squirrel it in a scenario sometime or 2.
Thanks for the feedback Dave. I was going to ask you if you minded testing the set. Interested to hear about the TFK. I must've done something wrong uploading that livery so I'll see if I can correct it. You'll see that I'm slowly compiling a list of stock to use in scenarios and nearly all of it is your creations .
Hi Dave. I had re-uploaded the TFK. Could you please unsubscribe from the original version and then subscribe to this version. Hopefully you will now have 4 Blue/Grey coaches. Fingers crossed
Hi David. Did as instructed and sadly the FK is still Blood & Custard. Tried it in both TSW 5 and 6. One thing I did try this time was going into Formation Designer and bringing up the 4TC set. It loads up with the FK in B&C, (LPC BR MK1 FK), but can be individually replaced with a Blue & Grey FK. (Obviously this is wrongly numbered.) Is the problem not with the coach but with the formation?
Hmmm that's interesting. The trouble is, though, that if the Formation file was wrong then wouldn't I also see the wrong formation myself (ie the Blood & Custard?). Mind you it is worth double checking. I'll do that tonight.
Hi David. I went back to Formation Designer. Your 33+4TC loads from the Custom Formation section with no problem, but with the B&C FK. I swapped it out with your own Blu/Gry FK and it worked. I had to save the formation then as my own and use that in my scenario. So it does appear to be a Formation issue. Here is the result in-game:
An extra piece of info... The scenario does not save the new formation; after closing down for tea and then re-opening the game, the coach had returned to B&C! Managed to get a run from Exeter St.Davids to Paignton for the Diesel gala though!
That first picture looks really great Dave. (You ought to post it in the general screenshot discussion without any comment and see if you gat a reaction). The 4TC really does look at home in Exeter. Did you get any screenshots of it running along the seawall at Dawlish. (I'm still on TSW5 as I don't want to lose the unofficial editor by upgrading). So you have proved that the FK Livery has been uploaded correctly. Thanks for that
Right I think I have fixed the Formation file. Your suspicions were correct this file, whilst pointing to the correct coach, was pointing to another Blue Grey version which is used in an 8TC rake that I haven't uploaded yet. So delete the 'old' version and try this one. (All other files are OK and don't need any action). Creators Club - 4TC-403 Formation-CL33 Propelling (DJ) As always let me know how you get on
This is annoying. (Noticed when I was making my third scenario for this route). PC - Does Anyone Else See This? Ho hum. I'll have to change the player service for this now. (But I do have an idea of what to try).
Third scenario. Swapped the CL101 for a CL166 as the player train. However I still came unstuck in the end Anyway, off we go from Minehead to Williton in the early evening.
Eventually we end up in Williton where we are routed into the Down platform as a Skipper is already waiting in the Up platform to take passengers onto Bishops Lydeard. (The sunset is well underway now).
As we shunt into the sidings at Williton three things happen. 1) A CL31 trundlles through hauling a CL8F heading for Minehead. 2) The Skipper departs. 3) I find out that the CL166 is about 5m too long to fit in the Williton headshunt !!! (So it's back to the CL101 I'm afraid. Still at least I know the scenario works). Mind you it does rather make these photos redundant
If scenario 3 now has the CL101 as the player loco then I guess the CL166 will have to be the star of the next one. So here it is on a Scenario running from Norton Platform to Minehead .
And on to Williton after crossing wrong line with both a CL37 and an HST Then at Williton we meet up with a pair of CL20's. Enjoy
The CL20's depart on their short freight only for a Western to turn up on another Williton itself is still busy. Then it's off to Blue Anchor.
Next stop Doniford Halt and onto then Washford Scenario is coming along nicely.......but will, no doubt, go wrong at the very end
