I just bought TSW6 during the Black Friday sale.
I'm looking for valid third-party DLCs for TSW6. Do you have any recommendations or a list? Thanks a lot!

Can you explain what you mean by 'valid'?

    Oh, Ok.

    That is subjective I guess.

What type of stuff is your preference and are you playing PC, or console?

I mean the West Cornwall Local is a TSW route so it's technically a valid route - I see your meaning though.

Quality is a very subjective thing, some of my favourite TSW routes include:
    the Southeastern Highspeed,
    the Goblin/Suffragette Line,
    the Edinburgh to Glasgow,
    the Riviera Line
    the Frankfurt S-Bahn
    the Ludwigsbahn
    the Frankfurt to Fulda
    the Harlem Line
    the NEC: Boston to Providence
    the Cajon Pass

Some US/UK and DE routes there

Southeastern High Speed, Blackpool, Preston-Carlisle and Riviera are good contenders - they're my most played.

Only problem is, for best experience, a lot of other DLC is needed on each for layers, including stuff that is nowhere near good quality.

SEHS is such a classic allrounder (if you have all the layers like you say). Bit of everything fast/slow/cargo, novelty of the Javelin and TVM/KVB and the full timetable still works just about ok on console with lots of traffic. Plus you get the ICE bonus in Oct/Nov!!

Just a shame about the fact they did St Pancras so dirty, with all the atmosphere of a morgue and the random passenger behaviour at Stratford.

My advice would be to never buy anything day 1 but read the reviews first. Iffy routes may improve with patches later too, if they don’t then ignore them. A lot of dlc is sadly rushed and released in an unfinished state. Yet ironically Just Trains and TSG always manage to release good dlc?

One thing I'll say is this: just because someone one tells you not to buy something, doesn't mean you have to listen to them.

There are a few things I wouldn't have even considered if I just did what everyone else did. The Cardiff route is one such example. Though there are some (West Cornwall) that I regret although I still consider them worth it if, and only if, they enhance another route.

Same here. You'd buy very little if you based your decisions on comments here.

There are several maligned routes which I enjoy, your example, Cardiff being one.

There are plenty of YouTube videos out there to view the content.

Not so much comments here as comments on steam, they are rarely wrong and show a trend when a porker is released.
Of interest re. Glossop is is 2002 timetable mod for pc players which might make it more worthwhile.
I suppose it all depends how much money you have to throw around, not everyone can afford to gamble on a route.

I don't gamble I don't buy anything unless if I'm not happy with It, there are a few pieces of DLC which are in my wait and see pile.

Glossop is okay at a sale price, the split services irritate me. I have seen that timetable mod, looks worth trying.
