OK, you asked for it, David. This one we will blame on you. A representation of BR EMU 320307 in Glasgow City Transport livery (a few years earlier than in reality) and with a nameplate commemorating the cultural diversity of Glasgow's suburbs, in this case the suburb of Govan, home of the infamous Rab C.Nesbitt.
Have just re-uploaded 47703 in ScotRail livery after I discovered I had left a previous number and nameplate on one side!
I've given up waiting for there to be a useable air-braked MK1 coach that works with BOTH Livery Designer and Formation Designer, so I've resorted to MK2 coaches for my Weedkiller train. These are representations of the 3 coaches I need: 99907 99909 99910
Like the way you make your (especially BR) logos big and then make them small, I made the mistake of starting small and it’s so blurry, like this class 40 I have to redo at some point
That's the best way to do any logo. If you start with it big, it makes it easier to create any minute details the logo needs before you scale it to the size it needs to be. It's a technique I do as well, and it really helps (especially with more complex logos) .
Returning to the Teams Collections, I have turned my attention to Team BH - Barrow Hill Roundhouse. The roundhouse is located near Staverley, Derbyshire and was the last surviving roundhouse in use by BR, servicing Class 56s and 58s among others to the end. Now a preserved site and depot, it is also home to the Deltic Preservation Society and a number of commercial groups. These groups do work on other railway companies' locos (or their own) and also rolling stock. So it can be difficult to work out what lives at BH and what is only visiting. The locos and stock I will include in Team BH will (hopefully) be stuff that lives there, but I will include a few longer-term visiting residents and some locos that appear there quite often. Sadly I cannot model the DPS Deltics or the Baby-Deltic as we don't have them in-game...yet! First up is a resident steam loco - LNER J17 8217 in LNER Black:
Team BH again. This time 2 London Transport Brake Vans - B583 and B584. These have recently been restored and look superb in their LT livery.
Another couple of Team BH wagons: BR 20T Standard Van B753792 in Bauxite livery BR 20T Standard Van in Bauxite livery with no number or other markings, except an added emblem for Henderson Relish!
Interrupting Team BH is a wagon very much for the moment. With the introduction of 'Cargo 5: Nuclear', I noticed that earlier variants of this train (pre-2002 I think), had a Brake Van as part of the consist. It had to be air-braked, or rather, 'Air Piped'. This is my version of one of those Brake Vans:
Team BH again - this time 2 Class 08 shunters. Now I'm not sure who owns these 08s, but they have 'lived' at BH for some time. 08527 in a Grey / Dark Blue livery
A note about the Nuclear Brake Van: This asset is Vacuum Braked by default and this cannot be changed. If it is used in a train of Air-Braked stock, it will work, but it will 'drag' a little. I have found the TSW 6 will allow its use in a formation in a scenario, but will not 'save' it for next time! I suppose it recognises that there is a discrepancy of braking methods. What we need is an Air-braked or Air-piped Brake Van, and some repaintable Air-braked MK1s at the same time please (that work in Formation Designer)
I've had these following locos sat in my Livery Editor for a few months, so now they're ready to come out to play. In the late 1980s, BR Freight Sector demanded a small number of Class 86 locomotives for their Freightliner services. 8 locos were allocated and had their ETH supplies isolated and were regeared. Numbered 86501 to 86508, some kept their former InterCity liveries, but others received versions of the Triple Grey Railfreight Sector livery. This is 86501, the former 86258, which kept its InterCity Executive livery and its 'Tallylyn - The First Preserved Railway' nameplates.
So, was checking my 86/5s ready for upload and discovered I had not named 86502! It should be 'Lloyd's List 250th Anniversary' and for some reason I had not modelled the nameplate. (Probably couldn't find a decent pic) Got that to do now before I can upload it. I could upload one of the others, but you know... there is a numerical order, you know! P.S. I'm not doing all 8 of the subclass, just 5 of them, unless anyone insists.
Genuine reason, I used to work in newspaper wholesale and we used to sell the Lloyds List. (Not that I've ever read one though)
ok,here's a link for other users to find you https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/profile/pinzadave-3259
86502 has been re-uploaded to correct a few livery issues and next up are 86503 and 86504: 86503 in Freight Unbranded livery and 'City of Lancaster' nameplates:
Last 2 86/5s uploaded today... 86507 in unbranded Freight Sector. Notice the 'damaged' number on one side.
You wish! With those letters you could get at least 17 points! Tomtrainboi is correct, it was the name of a 1924-built LNER D11/2 locomotive. Several of the class were named after characters in Sir Walter Scott's novels and poems. They must rank as some of the oddest names on British railway locomotives and I have to make use of them, so watch this space... The names were not cast plates, but were painted on or transfers. 'Luckie Mucklebackit' adorned LNER 6385, which became BR 62678. On scrapping, the name was saved as a flame cut and was recently auctioned (2024) and sold for £1,300. Now, how good would that look above your mantlepiece!
The final Class 86 for the moment: What if... BR had given the RTC at Derby a Class 86 to play with? This is 86901 in the later InterCity-inspired RTC livery, carrying the name 'Fury', ex-86222.
'Luckiemucklebackit' surfaces ! With Glasgow naming their Class 320s after TV characters (see 320307 'Govan - Rab C. Nesbitt'), Haymarket Depot in Edinburgh decided to go one better and delved into the depths of the Sir Walter Scott novels and poems to grace their new fleet of Class 150/2s, just as their ancestors had done in 1924 when Haymarket received the new Roberson-designed Class D11/2 4-4-0s. Indeed, it seemed prudent to re-use some of the names and thus I present to you 150253: 'Luckiemucklebackit'. There may be others...
No I must correct you on that Dave. I actually made the words "Buckle", "Kite", Cluck" and "Aim" with double word and triple letter bonuses and scoring 137 points. Then I got disqualified for not letting the other player have a go !!!
