On PS5 the interior lights don't stay on the Class 350/1 on any of the rail journeys. When you go to turn them on and then leave the control display it turns off and then the screen sometimes glitches out.
Yes, definitely though I haven’t turned them off (yet). One thing the route is good for is pushing the objective part of Monthly Mastery. I had about 140 left to get so did a Conductor job on an all stations Wolves to Bham stopper and at the end of the run checked the tally and had cleared the 300. I didn’t even have that many tickets to check despite the train being full. But zipping along between Stafford or Crewe and vv remains the high point of this route. Part of me wishes that AABS had carried on up the Trent Valley to Rugby rather than going to Birmingham. There’s always the hope of this has been a success they may carry on and do that, even through to Milton Keynes including Northampton (can but hope).
Well after the update and reading some of the feedback since said update, I decided to delve in (PC user). I was very pleased and had no issues with FPS, CTD etc. just the usual UE4 minor stutters. A couple of things though and I think it's probably down to core....PIS! Eurgggghh, when is this going to be sorted!?! It's not only annoying seeing the station stop being displayed whilst at said station but actually hearing the announcement saying "Calling at Stafford" when you are standing at Stafford station, grrrrrr Also seing displayed on the trains LNR, Service to LNR, Not In Service etc. A couple of things about timetable:- It did seem pretty quiet than what I was expecting, now I know the Chester/North Wales services are missing due to being no Class 221/805 but there was a point where there was about a 1hr wait for the next train to arrive at Platform 1 at Stafford? seemed rather long. Now maybe just me but I've never seen a Pendo go non-stop through Platform 5 at Stafford IRL? There may have been a TSR (didn't notice one though) but the Pendo's don't seem to go very fast when going non-stop through Stafford, again maybe just me. Overall though, enjoyable, will take an AC 86/87 for a spin later on today. I do feel sorry for the console players, they are missing out, hopefully things will get sorted for them in the near future and can have the full timetable and not a cut down version. Oh and finally, hopefully ATS' Class 90 will be layered onto the route and although I believe the TT was set in the era before the 805's, be nice if these are layered in too upon release, people can always turn the layers off if they don't want to see them
Although it’s more of a core thing, the one thing this route with all the playable layers is calling out for, is a proper conventional tabular timetable that lists all the services (maybe a separate one for freight). It shouldn’t be necessary to go through every type of train on the route one by one, to find something to drive at the time you want. And then presented in a linear format. This equally applies to other routes of course.
Just driving 9K16 in a 350/1 (Brum-Crewe) and noticed that the passenger announcement at Galton Bridge says it's calling at Stoke, Alsager etc.... Wow, did they extend the route ? * EDIT: it happens at Wolverhampton too. Both the platform and in-train announcements list the Stoke branch stations... * EDIT 2: ah... I arrived at Stafford and the run ended. Makes sense now. Laugh & tear up. (I know they didn't, I'm being ironic, for those who read things a bit too literally)
Managed a Stafford to BNS run on Series X with all owned layers (just missing a couple of Cargo Line) with NO blurry textures. Colour me impressed.
You'd think this day in age there would a track going through Stafford. So the pendolino can keep speed and not have to slow down to 30 to change tracks.
Anyone having loading issues with this route since the patch? I'm on PC/Steam - tried running a 350/3 service (9W10 Crewe-BNS) and it keeps getting stuck on the spinning wheel screen... eventually just dies, no crash report etc. Also happens on Voyager services. EDIT: also Pendolinos now. Sigh.
Anyone else almost spad or have done at Birmingham new street. With how close you have stop next to a red signal before it will register.
Well, just got a UE crash on a 390 service, 1S39. It's first stop was very close to BNS, as I was braking and almost stopped was when the crash occurred. I will go back and run it again with all mods disabled and see what happened.
That’s the thing that annoys me. Could easily route one or two through the middle roads because unless I’m mistaken you can get from/to Wolves from them. The signalling in TSW is still really poor. A few slightly different routings randomly would add another dimension to it.
Two more good things to mention about the route. The Class 86 (or 87) Railtour moves, after getting it to work. That approach to Wolves with the tap changer loco is very tricky. Being able to thrash the 153 from New Street to Wolves in the updated timetable.
Hello, am I the only one whose FPS drops as soon as I reach one of the map's endpoints? I always stay at 60 FPS while driving (locked, because otherwise the FPS drops are even more violent, from 100 FPS to 30, and give me a headache , going from 60 to 30 FPS is unpleasant but a bit smoother). I reach the end of the line and as I approach, the FPS starts to drop. As I get closer, I hit an unstable 30 fps that sometimes drops to 20. It's very noticeable, which I find very unpleasant when you're used to 60 fps. Im playing on PC
Anyone else think that the 350s and pendolinos take longer to reach top speed. Then they do on wcml south.
I would go with 7/10, though there is still work to be done. Ironically the most fun comes from driving anything other than the 350’s, though they aren’t too bad. Mainly the incessant announcements and slightly wonky physics that need tweaking. But blasting the 390, 220 or the 86 and 87 on the Railtour through the reverse curves between Stafford and Crewe is very fulfilling, as is thrashing the TfW 153’s (now they have a couple of proper jobs) between New Street and Wolves.
Not driven the 350's (I only use those as a passenger) but deffo noticed it on the 390 also don't seem to go through Stafford as fast as they do IRL.
Another couple of things I noticed, not sure if already mentioned. I've noticed some 220's having their emergency lights flashing and headlights on whilst travelling in opposite direction. Announcements not matching PIS screens, e.g. PIS showing stops to Shrewsbury & Manchester, announcements saying Calling at Shrewsbury Only and Manchester only. Hopefully there are plans to add all reverb and get neutral sections working. Edit: Re: Annoucements, I'm hearing hardly any at Crewe
Service 1G35 with the class 150: train 1L77 is stuck off-path after that i had to delete another train waiting for dependency and then when entering birmingham, AI spad.
I see the doors have to be re-opened again after shutting them once, I was hoping this was going to be fixed, but clearly its not, shame actually its a good route, this does it on all the 350s, on PS5 Do these things get checks on consoles, or just PCs?,
Spent an hour or so at Crewe and only ever heard one station announcement! That was well above platform level in the ticket purchasing area, not heard anything since despite many services coming and going
In the scheme of it quite minor, but 350 AWS horn is not authentic sound. Instead modern generic is used.
Seems to be a mod issue, I disabled all mods and it ran just fine. Will now try to see which one it is.
Whenever I head northbound, there always seems to be a train on the southbound track between Smethwick Galton Bridge and Sandwell & Dudley stopped with a "stop off path" status with a bunch of trains queued up as a result.
