    Hi folks

I’m a dad of a 9 year old who’s using TSW 5 and 6. He wants to try some of the liveries and scenarios from the creators club. We have downloaded some liveries, but I can’t see how to tell what is the difference between a scenario and a livery. I’ve read that I should find the route that a livery will run on, but how do I match a livery to a route? He has an Xbox. For example, if I download the Eurostar, what route will that run on? Thanks in advance for any help guys.

    Hi there.

Firstly I’m a father so I can appreciate your situation.

Okay so a few things to help you understand the scope of how involved it can get.

Each route sold will come with a specific locomotive. Your son can go on to CC (Creators Club) and find the same locomotive that comes with a route in a different reskin (Livery).
For example using the ECML DLC. (East Coast Mainline) this comes with the class 801/0 and 80/1.
So if looking for a livery for that class then again simply look this up on CC.
It’s upto the creator to leave the correct description due to how poor the search facilities are.

It’s important to note your son must own both route and locomotive in order to find and use a reskin suitable.

    The same applies to scenario.
A creator will build a scenario using a route then add individual locomotive that DO NOT come as part of a standard route.
This means a creator could use a number of different locomotive from a complete DLC route (Like the ECML) or an individual DLC add on pack that links to a specific DLC route.

In the sales description it will point out what route is needed to fully enjoy a chooses loco add on pack.

So basically you must own the route that is used for the scenario and also own any of the locos used by the creator.
If not then nothing will work because the system can’t add layers (Reskin) to something you don’t own.

That means either buying a complete DLC route pack to gain a route or locomotives and rolling stock, or any individual DLC loco pack if available because the main bulk or locos and rolling stock comes with a DLC Route pack.
If new to the franchise it where things can start getting expensive because creators have been using so many different DLC over the years.

So let’s reverse this, Eurostar doesn’t cover what class used by the creator.
If I assume it’s a 395 then that would come with the SEH DLC pack. Southeastern High speed route.

If it’s not the class 395 it could be a TGV.
    IMG_9634.jpeg

That means if you do not own the SEH route or the LGV route then you won’t be able to use a scenario or livery used by the creator if you do not own both DLC packs.

So if you can find out what class it is and what scenarios your son is looking for I could try work it all out.
The creators should let subscribers know what content is used.
Plus the system itself will point out what’s needed because on PS a basket symbol will appear.

Other symbols is a track for scenarios and a brush for liveries.
It might seem complicated and it can be especially for younger players.
My son gave up for that reason when he was a similar age regardless of my experience and time spent showing and explaining.

It can be a frustrating experience for them and us adults:)

    ✌.

    Hi,

Thanks for the comprehensive response. It’s a lot to take in and I doubt I’ll get savvy with this without being shown first hand. He owns the SEHS and I think it comes with a couple of different class trains. He’s subscribed to a whole load of stuff. Specifically he really wants to drive on the jubilee line and drive a Eurostar. It is the 395 that he’s subscribed to. There are a number of jubilee line stock he’s subscribed to but what’s the idea of those if there is no jubilee route? Thanks again for your time in helping

    Hi there,

We have downloaded the class 395 and we own the SEHS and LGV. How do we get the train on the track? We tried spawning but no joy and it isn’t in the depot.
    Thanks

Hi Dean, in Free Roam on Xbox the button to spawn in trains it the left d-pad button, after that a small menu will pop up with 3 options: on the left to spawn a new train, the top to spawn in the train you last spawned and the right to delete a train. You'll want to use the left joystick to guide it and hold it on the preferred options then press A. A large menu will then pop up with all your owned train, select the preferred train with the A button, then a green or red shadow of the train formation should show on the tracks: if red move till the shadow guide turns green, if green press the Y button (I believe, but it should show you which button to press here.) and the train should spawn.

    Hi

Thanks for that. It’s not spawning the trains that we have a problem with it’s not being able to drive a created class 395 Eurostar. We went to the creators club and found it there and downloaded it. It it doesn’t appear in our list of owned trains for use on the SE HS line

Ah, ok. Try (on the spawn menu) select your chosen train, a small menu should pop up with possible variants, use RT to navigate to creators club section and it should appear there, if not delete the livery and re-download it, then it should appear.

    Hello again.

Okay so if you own the SEH DLC (Route/395) all you need to do is either do what’s already suggested in freeroam.
Freeroam means you can spawn the 395 or any loco on any route.
NOTE: If using subscription liveries they will not be in your son’s own liveries. There is 3 options available when searching in freeroam.
You’ll have the Standard Liveries. Then own created liveries, and then Creator's Club liveries (The ones you’ve subscribed too).

The easy way to do it seeing you own the routes etc, is go to your route, select a services then it will give you the options similar to how you’d select in free roam.
So again choose creators clubs liveries when selecting from the options available.

I’ll get some screen shots over for you soon:)

    ✌.
