Same, I've been a huge proponent for it for a long time, and it's my local line, but I have my doubts lol

The Hudson Line is at the top of my US wish list...but sadly, I do not think this is a stealth reveal. More than likely, it is referring to that Yankee stadium spur off the Harlem Line

Yeah, that's what I'm more leaning towards as well.

I will say, I recently got the base Railworks Enhancer pack for TSC, and applied the AP Skies to the TSC Hudson Line, and it has been a night and day difference visually. The TSC route's got some minor inaccuracies, but it's still real fun and scratches an itch.

I did the same a few years ago and yea is a big upgrade on the way it looks. Would love to have the Hudson line someday in TSW. is a route I advocate on a regular basis........ :)

I hadn't played TSC in so long I almost blasted through Yonkers on one of the GCT Empire Train diversions from a few years back. I thought I could start braking around the old power station, but ended up with my cab door past the platform and a very clenched butt.

You'd think with as regularly as I ride the real thing I'd have a little better route awareness... lol.

I know an engineer based out of Rensselaer, that mostly works yard jobs but still does runs south to keep up his qualification. I may ask him what his braking points are to see if they match up with the sim.

Same, the Hudson line is my local line as well and I agree, the AP weather & sky enhancements fused with the cloud enhancement for the Hudson line in TSC really makes a difference. Man, I really hope we get the Hudson line from GCT to Poughkeepsie one day. I really want to see the Genesis and Shoreliners become a reality, If we get the Hudson line one day, I am sure there may even be a possibility for the new SC-42DM locomotives. Something tells me for the new Haven line, perhaps we'll even get the spur a bit past Yankees-East 153rd street, up to Highbridge facility as I saw there was mention of deadhead moves. This time around, I hope the devs implement Yankee Stadium so we can simulate some game day runs for when the Yankees baseball and NYCFC soccer games take place

Looking forward to the M8, mostly for the switch from 3rd rail to Pantagraph between Pelham and Mt. Vernon East. Completely different process than the ALP45DP and it happens while the train is moving. Seems like it’s still awhile away based on the screenshots.

If they are adding in route hopping to Morristown here, are they going to add hopping into the Morristown line finally? I don’t believe it currently supports hopping to NJT or LIRR, so I’d guess it’s going to be added if it’s supported here.

EDIT: Nevermind it looks like it does support hopping now, but only for NYT and Harlem line, not either of the LIRR routes (which is interesting to me since they also come out of Penn).

They should really be telling the players do the move switch on the go between New Rochelle and Wakefield on the Metro-North New Haven line section where you change from third wheel to overhead wires because Metro-North trains do not stop when moving from one voltage to another instead they just keep going. In fact I have done the on the move voltage change before ebbsfleet on sehs in the London bound track

Here's a couple of good videos, for those curious on what the mode-change looks like...

From what I know so far, the power changeover from DC to AC and vice versa occurs between Mt. Vernon East and Pelham. The M8 can perform the power change over while in motion, I'd suggest between 30 and 45 mph. When this occurs, you the HVAC, traction motor goes off and turns back on when the EMU receives power, Cool, I definitely remember those videos and miss the M2's as well

I just started commuting that way this year into CT and never even thought of it until I realized at New Rochelle that there aren’t any 3rd rails (I knew there weren’t but all the years I traveled from Boston, I took Amtrak so I never thought about the M8 needing to switch). So with what I learned about the ALP45DP, I did so much YouTube watching of clips of the train switching since you obviously can’t see it from the train itself. I may get off at Pelham one day during rush hour just to watch it in real life, but it’s definitely really cool to see (and somewhat hear from inside the train).

Also completely unrelated, but hopefully these get up and running to Penn Station soon enough. First, it will make my commute shorter, but second it would be cool to see those lines happen in the sim.

I definitely agree, it is cool a process for the M8's power changeover from DC to AC. It appears the East Bronx expansion for Metro North is delayed until 2028-2030. From the MTA Press Conference, it appears, Metro North is looking into ordering battery powered locomotives to haul coaches for the East Bronx expansion. Hopefully by the time service begins, there will be a mix of Metro North motive power along the East Bronx corridor.

Why battery, when there are catenary wires?

They still use the shoreliner cars for some of those trips even though it’s mostly M8s. So without knowing the specifics around if the M8s and if they can run into Penn, the Chargers they ordered can definitely cover that (and I believe they purchased some for LIRR too).

I completely agree with this! And, I really don't want to be one of those people, but please, please don't just slap in CSX SPG stuff without updating the sounds (horn!) and physics . . . That would be AI only for me and a bit of a disappointment.

Those are some pretty high expectations, especially for Dovetail.

Just coming back to this, I appreciate the wording could have been better - it referenced the existing Harlem Line as you've stated.

You sure, Alex? You can tell me if there's a Hudson Line DLC on the horizon... I know the agents are watching you, so blink twice and hop on one foot if that's true...

I had no idea what the Hudson Line was like until I watched a Cab Ride on the route. Looked amazing. Apart from Central Park I didn’t realise trees existed in New York. (Joking ;))

Seriously though that would be cool if Harlem line got a big extension and a TOD 4 Update. Hudson line would probably be its own route I bet… however TOD 4 on Harlem Line is bound to happen…

I wonder if this is going to reuse the penn to new Rochelle section of the original NEC route from train sim 1

I never had the first TSW. Joined when it was TSW2. Is that the part where you sort of go around in a big circle before heading off ?.

I thought it was said here that they had to rebuild this mostly from scratch and would be leveraging the Penn area from the more recent routes for the area up until Hell Gate.

You're probably thinking of the loop at Sunnyside Yard, which is where locomotive-hauled Amtrak trains turn. It was featured in the first NEC Newark to New Rochelle route back in the day, and has made appearances in most NYC-centered routes since.

Railroad geography in New York can get a little confusing, especially once you start looking at subways and industrial and freight roads. Here's a little basic map I just did to simplify things, showing the major routes and some of the DLC we currently have, and how they relate geographically to each other. It's not 100% accurate, but should give a clearer idea of routings in and out of the city. I also only showed the Oak Point Link for CSX, illustrating their connection from the Hudson Line down to the Bronx.

That’s what it’s called !!. Sunny side yard. I saw a video of someone playing the NY - New Haven route on TSC a long time ago. I remember at the very start he went around in a big loop before heading off up the route. I thought that was really cool actually. I might have to rewatch the video on that route even though we aren’t going as high up as New Haven sadly… this will still be a good run in TSW. Maybe in the future they will extend to New Haven and that would be super cool if they did. It’s got quite a bit of scenery on it and the Big Red Bridge (Hells Gate). Awesome !!!.

Do we know if we are we are finally getting both levels at Grand Central for this? I thought on the initial stream mentioning this route, Matt had said both levels were being included. But trying to make sure my memory isn’t failing me and I’m not just making stuff up.
