I think it would work better if intermediate coaches were just blue with white doors, maybe a little dash of red. It's too busy.

It will have been signed off now before going public as these publicity stunts all cost money in marketing etc

Problem is, Great British Railways isn't British Rail, and nothing instills confidence in the new nationalised era like mimicking the failed era of nationalised rail

I find the colors a bit much, though still quite beautiful. But when you see dozens of trains like this at a station, in my view it feels a bit overdone. It’s really a lot of flag. And in a 3D environment it often looks much nicer than in reality, when a train simply gets dirty.

I agree that it'll look odd seeing all the trains look the same at the station. I do wonder if this is a sign that they are just going to have one big national rail operator, as opposed to many different regional ones. Good in some ways (more standardisation etc.), but limits competition. Even LNER and TPE compete for example despite both being DfT, and this has particularly been pushing TPE to improve based on what I've observed recently.

I don’t really understand the whole national railway idea. We’ve seen in the past what the excesses of that were. In Europe, many of the railways were bottomless pits where money disappeared like water. It sounds nice, but in practice it often turns out to be more difficult. In my view, privatization is not necessarily bad, though England did create a problem in the 1990s by setting far too few conditions. Privatization only works with the right framework. In fact, it’s often the case that passengers benefit, as you rightly pointed out it often has a positive effect. And as I already mentioned, nationalization is not the solution, even if it may seem very appealing

Well, London Bridge is Falling Down so I suppose it would be appropriate.

The livery is bold, it's growing on me.

Absolutely delighted that Dovetail are working with the DfT and GBR. This hopefully means many modern routes that were previously not possible in TSW are now possible.

GBRs livery looks amateur and childish, made to effectively flag shag (I hope I’m allowed to use that). They really could’ve made regional liveries and just had the double arrows rather than GBR written all over the thing. Sincerely to me it looks like it was ‘AI’ generated. Heck modernize the old BR liveries and use them and it would look 100% better.

The funny thing is the fact is the trains with this terrible livery get to have the flag on it but if you try to put a flag irl they send some cops to take it down for some dumb reason (probably some dumb political reason)

Putting a flag on a train sounds like a pretty dumb idea, no wonder the police take them down. ;)

    Putting flags on trains?
    "Yes" or "No"?
Needs some sort of flag poll methinks

If we're talking flags, "Great British Railways" should really be using this bad boy, given it has no relevance to Northern Ireland.

Of course, if they were to ever take over ScotRail they'd have to use the appropriate version:

If you really want to integrate the flag colours, just put them on the double arrows. Easy. Have regional base colours, like GWRs green and put the double arrows where the GWR logo currently lives. Or just have a small Union Flag next to the running numbers and the double arrows be white. Far more tasteful.

The later Network South East livery included red white and dark blue. You also got a variety of greys with them.

Perhaps this is the plan, seeing as this is going to mostly be an operator in England and England is to the South and East of Scotland and Wales. The ultimate Network South East. No?
