My 9-year-old son wants Dovetail to develop a Via Rail pack.
    How cool would that be?

    Explain?
    What's Via Rail?
    What would it contain?
What routes would it go on?

    A nicely underwhelming suggestion.

We don't even know whether DTG have a working relationship with VIA let alone a licence. The only Canadian representation in TSW is from Canadian National and that was on the short, now largely forgotten, Oakville Sub. No one seems inclined to do any more Canadian content.

And the big problem with VIA is that, similar to long distance Amtrak, if you build long distance equipment then a route would need to be made for what in many places is one train a day in each direction or even less. And the most scenic route (CP's Kicking Horse Pass) isn't even served by VIA any more since they combined The Canadian and Super Continental services to run via the CN route and Jasper.

So probably not even flickering on DTG's LAMPOIL o'meter, unless a 3P showed some interest.
