I have recently decided to purchase TSW6 for PS5 and have imported my TSW5 profile of over 1200 levels across. Decided to have a go at starting the tutorials for Riviera line and Morristown. Tutorial plays through fine and finishes with your scoring but on returning to the main menu I get a CE-100028-1 error message. (Screenshots attached.) If I close the game and restart my profile will disappear and I will only be given the option to import or start from scratch. This only seems to affect the three new 'core' routes. I tried running Birmingham Cross City yesterday and that returned to the main menu with no issues. Google indicates that this may be a free space issue on the PS5. I would check your storage usage and try to delete some other games to free up space and then try again.
I had the same Problem on my Lvl 1000+ Profile, with about 1600h Playtime. Congrats, your Save is lost. On PS5 you have no chance to get the Savegame back.
Just trying a complete reinstall at the moment. Console storage indicated at 250GB. I've moved all my other games to an SSD too so there should be plenty of space.
Sadly looks to be the case. Spent 4 hours reloading on my content only to play through the first two tutorials on Riviera only for the save to corrupt itself after playing the next scenario. Let's see if DTG have anything to say or any advice on the issue. Not holding out much hope.
Out of curiosity, what is the size of your TSW5/TSW6 saved data? You can check with Settings > Storage > Console Storage > Saved Data > PS5 Games. Mine is at 160MB, and my level is 1,012. I was curious if yours was any bigger and was hypothesizing that something could have ballooned your saved data, like creators club content or something.
My TSW5 saved data is 171.4MB and TSW6 is only 138.7MB. I'm level 1275. Do you think the difference in the size of the saves means anything? I do have a few items of creators club stuff on TSW5 and a few liveries but not very many, like 5 or 6.
I do find that discrepancy odd. It makes me think that the profile didn’t fully import or something. I think it’s a good sign that your profile is still working in TSW5. I would try this if you haven’t already: 1. Play a couple of services in TSW5 just to make sure that your profile is still saving and working correctly there. 2. Delete the TSW6 saved data from the page we exchanged screenshots of. 3. Close TSW5. 4. Launch TSW6. Reimport your profile when prompted. 5. Compare the sizes again and test to see if it works. If that doesn’t help, it couldn’t hurt to remove the creators club stuff. I’m just thinking of ways to manipulate/change the TSW5 profile data in such a way that it could improve the chances of importing it successfully. I don’t want to see your profile lost! Open up a ticket with Dovetail too if you haven’t already.
Thanks bro, good advice. Have already opened a ticket with DTG. They said the same as your original post - that there was not enough space. I will try your steps above - I was thinking along exactly the same lines and will report back. EDIT 7/10: Still having the same issue as before. Spent 4 hours last night redownloading all the content and clearing the save files. Starting playing the Rivieria line again and after starting the Class 802 tutorial the same error message as in the OP appeared.
Save game gone. I try to revert to cloud save yesterday that worked and still get the problem. (Will complete reset the save data when reloading). I just bought Manchester Airport and Mannheim to Kaiserslaiten, did the route intro and the message popped up. Never had this on any other game, so clearly a game issue.

Is this on TSW5 or 6? And what's your profile level? Mine's about 1300 in TSW5 and still having intermittent issues with the .bak file not saving properly.
I’m confident this is a game issue. I’m experiencing something similar where I’m not able to import my existing profile on my new PS5. Maybe it’s a Dovetial Live issue, idk. a response from DTG would be great. I just wanna know if there’s any way to import it or if I should cut my losses and start over from level 1.
ive had this issue 3 times now. dtg support told me to go into settings advanced and turn off UGC Formations and UGC substitutions on PS 5. Ihope this works this time, i wont know until i get to the level where it happens to me in about 30 levels since i turned off them UGC things. i think it something to do with then creative formations
I don't have any of those. Never bothered with it. I did have custom liveries, which I've now deleted. If you're coming from the ps4 version, I'm afraid you'll have to start from level 1 again.
Coming from a broken PS5 to a new one. Deleted and reinstalled the entire game twice, deleted game saved data and still no option to import an existing profile. It just forces me to make a new one.
Hello, I downloaded TSW6 on my PS5 during the weekend and imported my profile from TSW5 to TSW6 on monday, and since that time, I have issues with error Ce-100028-1. I always had to reimport saved game from the cloud. I have more than 250 Go on my HDD and 400 Go on my SSD M.2, I rebuilt my database twice, deleted the cache memory, and still have the same issue. From today it gets even worse, because the saved game data are not able to be uploaded and I have only two possibilities: import my existing profile from TSW5 (and loose 25 hours of game on TSW6) or create a new profile and loose everything. Never had such issues with TSW3/4/5 or any other game. So everything shows, that TSW6 is at fault...
Hello, I have the same issue, and it have nothing to do with free space on the HDD or SSD, or corrupted database. There is another thread about this issue, so I doubt, it´s due to the HW. Everything indicates it´s a game issue. So please DTG, we need answers and actions!!!. We didn´t spend money on TSW6 to not be able to play with...
i have decided its just not worth trying to play this Rubbish DTG. ive spent hundreds of money on this game and for what to get Ce-100028-1. this is the 4th time this has happened to me. i give in. I play on PS 5 and the things DJ Chris told me to turn off last time did not work as it happened again today. So theres something wrong with TSW6 when we get over level 1,570 this time and the save game is not working as it knocks me back to when i tranfered from TSW5 to TSW6 at level 1,555
im having problems with this i get CE-100028-1 error message. ive now had this happen to me 4 times and i was at level 1,586 and i saved the game as it asked me to but it also knocked me back to level 1,555 to when i transferred over from TSW5 to TSW6, i put tickets into support and deleted lots of stuff from the creators club and deleted lots of DLCs but it still happens CE-100028-1 error message. Hi David, We are truly sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately, this is a common issue among PS5 games and may indicate that your profile has been corrupted. Sadly, it may not be possible to recover a corrupt profile without a backup (i.e. PlayStation Plus). So could you try playing with a new profile for a while and see if you get any further issues, please? We have an investigation underway, but so far it looks like it could be something on Sony's end. At this time, there's no reason to unduly worry other players as it seems quite rare. Lots of big name games seem to be getting the same issue: Reddit Search
Don't be shifting the blame here lol. The Palworld devs who ran into this problem, acknowledged it and fixed it. As did the rest. But you've not fixed a basic memory leak in 2 years, so I don't have hope. Please prove me wrong
FYI DTG it has happened again today 10/10/25 CE-100028-1. I just cant get any higher in this game because the save game does not work for me when i get to level 1,570. this is the 5th time this has happened to me. ive cleared everything out. the only dlcs im now playing on is The british dlcs all the others i have disabled. TswSaveGame-8fa28b66bc6fee9080aef3a5035b0312. I just do not know what to do as this game is broken badly.
As a PS5 player who is not yet this high of level but approaching it, these reports of corrupted profiles are very concerning. In a different post regarding the same issue (https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/profile-save-issue-when-starting-tsw6.94403/), DTG Chris stated that an investigation is underway. I find it very hard to believe that these are isolated PS5-specific storage issues, especially considering the state of the core game and lack of attention that it receives from DTG. DTG Chris, can you please provide us with an update on this investigation? The problem continues to recur for Dave Mel. Perhaps we can take a roll call of similar level players? There can't be too many PS5 players in the 1000-1200-1500 range. On a related note, PS5 players who are heavily invested in their TSW6 profiles should be backing up their game data to a USB drive. The cloud save ability only lets you store one save game in the cloud and has no version control. If your profile becomes corrupted, your cloud save could easily be overwritten with a corrupt profile. Backing up your game data to a USB drive regularly can provide you with multiple restore points in cases of corruption, hardware failure, etc.
You can’t backup up individual save files of PS5 games to USB. Sony made sure we have to pay them for the cloud to back up even just one save smh
After I started to play the game again last week, I was in the hope, that the problem was solved. Until today.... The game is unplayable again, unfortunatly.
You are correct that you cannot backup individual save files. But you can perform multiple backups, even to the same USB device. This gives you multiple restore points in case of profile corruption or PS5 hardware failure. Granted, you have to be really committed to TSW since a restore operation will restore everything at the point of the backup.
The error happened to me at level 940. Did two tests, once saving to the cloud at level 935. The error occurred at level 940, imported the cloud save, got to level 939, exported that save to the cloud, error again at 940, imported the level 939 save, still got the error at 940. 200 GB of storage in Main PS5 drive, 600 GB in M.2 SSD (where TSW6 is installed). The fact the error always strikes at the same level means there is a serious problem with the game. This reminds me of the infamous 0KB bug in Fallout 4 where the PS4 wouldn't save even with plenty of storage space. What is going on here? I don't feel comfortable playing this game in this condition.
I got another error code but on the PS4 (Ce-30028-3) and the same issue. A serious bug I am pretty sure with the game. These are the two screens that I see for the error. Error one and then error two
It just happened to me, at level 1,115. I have lost my profile, and even if I restore a backup, it will just corrupt itself again according to the reports from other players that this has happened to. Just as others have reported, I successfully completed a service and was presented with the CE-100028-1 error message. After closing TSW6 and relaunching, I am prompted to create a new profile. This is not some rare corruption or an issue with storage space on the PS5. There is a bug in TSW that is causing these profile corruptions. It may be limited to higher level players, but we will surely see this bug affect more players as time goes on. May we please have an acknowledgement that this is a known bug and that it will be fixed? I will also be opening a ticket for this of course. I have hundreds upon hundreds of hours invested into this profile. I am distraught. I will not be playing a single minute in TSW or buying any DLC until this problem has been acknowledged and fixed. What a bummer!
