    My wife has ordered us a roll up jigsaw mat for Christmas (1000 pieces max) so my thoughts turned to getting something railway themed to do. Found a few at the Yorkshire Jigsaw Store https://theyorkshirejigsawstore.co.uk

    Though the railway ones are all steam focused, nothing diesel and the best ones (such as Carlisle) are out of stock. If anyone can share or spec some jigsaws and outlets that might be of interest, would be much appreciated.

    In the U.S., we have quite a few makers of custom jigsaw puzzles from photos, including the big international jigsaw maker Ravensburger. Possibly you could get your own puzzle made from a favorite rail photo?

    That thought did cross my mind. However the wife and I patronised a couple of local charity shops yesterday and bought a few puzzle boxes so that with the railway ones will keep us busy for a while. Though of course with used puzzles it’s a gamble if all the pieces are present.

    Hornby actually do / did quite a few. Here's an example;

    Just google 'Hornby Jigsaw' and they will all pop up. :)

    This one did have a slight railway theme! 1000 piece published by the National Trust. Took me about two weeks on and off to complete with a few tricky sections.

    Next one coming up, not railway connected but found in a charity shop yesterday for £3. Got a feeling it will be fiendish…

    Sweet!

    Yeah, the sky and water on that second one should keep you occupied for a bit.

    Purely by chance discovered there is a Ravensburger store in the Swindon Designer Outlet Village. Couldn’t resist buying this beauty, Lakeside And Haverthwaite Railway…

    This one has a slight railway theme to it, viaduct at Knaresborough crossing the River Nidd. A charity shop purchase and sadly not in the best of condition. Pieces and box worn, no poster and already found a few dog (?) hairs in it!

    However I will persevere and hope at least all the pieces are present.
