Daegu – Busan High Speed Line (Gyeongbu HSR – South Korea) Length: ~128 km (80 miles) Route type: High-speed line (HSR), passenger only Era: Modern day Operator: Korail Rolling stock: KTX-I, KTX-Sancheon, KTX-Cheongryong Overview The Daegu – Busan section of the Gyeongbu High Speed Line is one of the most intense and iconic HSR corridors in South Korea. Despite its relatively moderate length, it concentrates very high traffic density, multiple stopping patterns and sustained high-speed running, making it an excellent candidate for Train Sim World. At around 128 km, the route remains well within a realistic development scope for DTG, while being long enough to deliver extended high-speed gameplay, meaningful acceleration and braking phases, and multiple services per hour. Infrastructure & Technical Characteristics Electrification 25 kV 60 Hz AC overhead line Fully electrified high-speed infrastructure Signalling & Safety TVM-430 (high-speed in-cab signalling) ATP / ATC adapted for Korean HSR No lineside signals at speed → pure cab-based driving GSM-R equivalent radio communication Track Layout Fully double-track high-speed line Designed for sustained high-speed running Numerous tunnels and viaducts Maximum speed: 320 km/h (200 mph) Maximum gradient: ~2.5% Stations & Stops Termini Dongdaegu (Daegu) – major high-speed hub Busan – iconic terminal station Intermediate Stations Singyeongju (Gyeongju) Ulsan ➡️ This allows both semi-fast and all-stop high-speed services, adding natural gameplay variety. Passenger Services KTX semi-fast Dongdaegu → Singyeongju → Ulsan → Busan KTX limited-stop Dongdaegu → Ulsan → Busan KTX near-direct Dongdaegu → Busan High frequency, tight timetables and constant overtakes in AI traffic make the line feel alive at all times. Rolling Stock (1 or 2 trains at the launch, the other(s) could be released later as an add-on if the route is liked by the community) KTX-I Derived from the French TGV Réseau Classic cab design with excellent forward visibility Perfect for players who enjoy traditional high-speed driving KTX-Sancheon Modern Korean-built high-speed train Advanced cab, cleaner interface, improved acceleration Ideal contrast to the KTX-I within the same route KTX-Cheongryong Next-generation distributed-power high-speed train Designed for 320 km/h operation, optimized for high acceleration and dense timetables Modern cab design and passenger experience, representing the future of Korean high-speed rail Scenery & Atmosphere Dense sequence of tunnels and viaducts Mountainous Korean landscape Urban approaches to Daegu and Busan Strong sense of speed and compression typical of Asian HSR Visually very different from European high-speed lines already in TSW Why This Route Works Perfectly in TSW Ideal high-speed line length High-speed driving from start to finish Multiple stopping patterns despite one train family Modern, non-European setting (adds real diversity to TSW) Two highly iconic and one super modern trains Technically clean and focused for DTG Conclusion Daegu – Busan is an extremely intense high-speed route that delivers exactly what a modern HSR line should in Train Sim World: speed, precision, frequency and immersion. With the KTX-I, KTX-Sancheon and KTX-Cheongryong, it offers both heritage and modernity on one of Asia’s most important high-speed corridors, while remaining perfectly achievable within TSW’s technical scope. Thank you for reading my 6th detailed suggestion on the forum.
Technically this is Daegu Ulsan Busan route the Gyongsang Province urban belt. Keep in mind korail hsr is left track running like LGV and SEHS on TVM-430
Thank you very much, and yes, that would be an interesting country. I like the South Korean rail network and trains.
What a interesting route from you Yassine, You're sometimes full of surprises, which is always fun about you. I also have Chinese-Asian roots. Back when I did karate, we had a sensei in the dojo who called it dojang. It was a South Korean sensei.
