I am really keen to try and understand and manage my expectations regarding layering of new content, particularly on WCML South*. Currently I only have layers that add trains, not new timetables. With other routes, e.g. East Coastway, I have the 313 add on which added a new timetable and has become the only version I play. More is more as far as I am concerned as it really adds to realism and immersion. Should I be worried that, if I want to play WCML South, I will have to choose between running a timetable with the Class 90 included or a timetable with the 805 included? I am hoping I won't have to, and these trains will feature in one timetable as a more immersive and real experience, but am I hoping for too much? *I grew up in Leighton Buzzard and WCML South is my favourite route to play because of my connection to it. Personally, I could never have too much WCML in TSW6, but understand why people would like other lines represented in game. South West gets my vote, ideally with a slamdoor EMU!
Sorry, as a note for more context... WCML seems unprecedented in TSW for not just the volume of route add ons, but for both the reliance and opportunity for layering. I can't think of another example (other than the Class 66) of a train add on (pendo and 350) being used so extensively across multiple route add ons, although JT might be closest with their related content.
I’ve been concerned about this for a while now as well, I’d say there’s a decent chance the 805 and 90 won’t be available on the same timetable. If AAS and ATS can decide to get along, then there shouldn’t be a problem but at the moment the relationship and business agreements between the parties is looking a little thin
If they dont bother having both trains on the same timetable then I won't bother buying them. Its a bit silly to have two worse products if they refuse to have both on the same timetable
AAS & ATS have said in other threads that they won't harbour grudges and would happily worked with other developers products to benefit the players. So hopefully the 90 will work on the AAS 805 timetable!
Hopefully they will be in the same timetable it would be good to get all relevant stock in one timetable. As an aside I do like having different timetable where there are genuine differences, ie the era.
Thanks for your thoughts and observations, sounds like I am right to be a little sceptical. I think I will definitely get the 90 because it may be worth it as a standalone, even without a timetable (although of course this would be better). To their credit, the spawning a random train in timetable mode and how the game behaves to incorporate your movements, is a really great feature!! I have posed this question about timetables a couple of times and it was ignored in the last roadmap Q&A. That combined with everyone's thoughts here and general performance of WCML South now, let alone a potentially bigger timetable, I think I will wait until well after release for the 805.
