Steam User Profile "deleted" After Crash

Hi. I was playing, when my game crashed. After relaunching it, my user profile was gone. Any tips for recovery, or thoughts about what might have caused it?

 

This happens randomly. It happened to me on the PS5 as well. You can't prevent it. According to developers, there is too little space on the hard drive in this case, but it was not the case with me, as I always leave 100GB free.

If you haven't manually secured your savegame in between, you won't have a chance to get it back.

If you played TSW5, you can download it again and import your Profile back to TSW6. So you only lose the progress you made in TSW6.

 

Go to: C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld6\Saved\SaveGames

Check whether the file BAK_Profilename.sav is there, rename BAK_Profilename.sav to PP_Profilename.sav
and your profile and progress should be back again.

For some, this file may not consist of the profile name, but rather a random sequence of numbers and letters.

Example: PP_db1f4ab5945def62a83d8df13e0c2597.sav

However, the principle remains the same: Just replace BAK with PP to restore your profile and progress from the backup file.
TSW will automatically create a new BAK file.
