As long as it’s properly tested and optimised on console, then console players will be eating good. Clearly nothing gets tested on console at this point. 2026 a change is in order.

Funny how MSFS2024 (edit -is coming too) PS5
    Has the litteral whole world..
..Works.. (from whats available to see online)

Your logic also extremely flawed.. the very reasons you use to put consoles down are the very reasons it should be possible for DTG to work it out..
Ps5 has exactly the same hardware it had over 5 years ago.. hasn't changed.. is exactly as it was..
Thats over 5 years of optimisation to pre set boundaries..

It should be running like butter on console by now..

Having it work on the 100s of possible hardware configurations for PC is in theory a much harder exercise..

Maybe this thread should return to its original goal: appreciating the FREE remaster of GWE.

Instead of idle speculation as to how it will perform on certain platforms.

How can you appreciate something that hasn't released yet?

Call it speculation but if you look at the number of add ons in recent times that have had issues (memory particularly), then we have every reason to raise our concerns.

Of course you can't say for sure what a product is like until it's in your hands, but Liam did a fantastic job on WSR, so my high hopes are definitely set for this remaster. On PC, at least.

For console, Liam has already said he will do what it takes to make it the best it can be for console users, although he'll be relying on feedback from the testing team for that to happen.

    WCMLS says hi!!

If you honestly can play that on console with all layers enabled and no stuttering or blurring then please share your secrets.

Or maybe it is just an Xbox issue.

I genuinely experience no blurs on WCMLS, even with all layers on. Stuttering is another thing, especially in busier areas. But still acceptable most of the time.

By the way, Xbox does seem worse than PS when reading the messages on here.

That's because Xbox is more limited on the memory side. I've literally heard my developer brother lament about having to get a game onto Xbox, but not bothered too much about porting to PlayStation.

Same. Especially on news article sites. It was bad enough that you could reject cookies but then they started adding "legitimate interest" cookies that effectively override your rejection anyway, but you have to opt out of each one manually – which they know most people won't do when you have a list of 100+ vendors with legitimate interest cookies to turn off one by one. Now asking you to pay on top...

I can't believe anyone would pay to be able to reject cookies. Also the first time I've seen it.
At least in NL this isn't allowed. The world we live in..

Perhaps because I care about others as well as myself? But really you’re splitting hairs just to get a few likes from console players. If that floats your boat then fine.
But like I said anyone with half a brain can see the future of consoles in this franchise. As a PC player who worked hard to pay for a decent pc I personally don’t want my game held back because of consoles so people can drive the simplest trains possible with a controller.

l hope so to, as it has been 16 months since the beginning of this thread.

However l was also hoping the Just Trains route Preston to Crewe would drop before Christmas for what would have been a fantastic Christmas present, but that doesn’t seem the case now.

If that's the case then I think it will be the end of January or even rolls over to February as for the first couple of weeks in the new year is normally slow for anything significant

Watched tonight’s roadmap. I’m really keen for the article on Monday about GWE update and the video Alex mentioned will be on YouTube. . Hope the extra info with regards to the new part of it we don’t know about is really good.

I know pipe dream but I hope the reveal on Monday is that the route has been extended. I know really unlikely but can but hope.

more realistic full electric so modern traction can benefit.

if you could choose the feature what would you want it to be?

That’s what I remember having as the route in tsc so that would be really cool. Even if it was only extended as far as didcot that would be cool and would offer the possibility of freight into the power station as if my memory is right based on the route timeframe the power station would still have been going.

“Just” the branch lines would be fantastic (although there are quite a few!) Service variation is key for me and branches get overlooked so often on routes.

    Being the season of reveals article has this to say;
I find it highly unlikely it'll be cancelled because it would be kind of wierd to show footage and then immediately after say it's cancelled

They're showing 10 minutes of gameplay footage on Monday and he also mentioned there is a release date that they're just not revealing yet.

Alex mentioned a 'special surprise for Train Sim World 6 players' in addition. It could be related to GWE but could be something else entirely. I think Matt's advice from just before 2024's big reveal is sound - temper your expectations.

It's already been said this week that what's coming on Monday is a 10-minute 'show reel' and that the remaster will be coming out early next year. No need to invent reasons to worry yourself or others!

Why come across all high and mighty because “you’re a PC player”? This game doesn’t evolve around you, me or any Tom, dxxx or Harry. It needs to optimised for every platform. The game wouldn’t be in the state that it is now if proper testing was done on console dev kits.

Have you forgotten a huge chuck of player base is on console? Take that revenue away and TSW will be deserted as quickly as TSC was.

Now you’re attacking people who play on controller. What’s wrong with playing on a controller? You do know most players use a wireless keyboard or mini keyboard that attaches to their controller to play. I play with a wireless keyboard with a usb dongle too.
    IMG_2879.jpeg
As long as this game is marketed and sold on console then it will be held back until console players have a more optimal experience. These blurry textures won’t disappear overnight.
I’m happy that you have a better experience on PC than me, but instead of coming across as an AxxxxxE all the time, try to be a bit considerate of other people that play this game, and who are less fortunate than you. People who can’t afford a two or three thousand pounds set up with all the fancy high spec components.

Just watching the roadmap stream and Alex says there IS a release date but just can’t be revealed yet, but very close. Looking forward to the preview on Monday and whatever the surprise is (unclear if it’s GWE related or separate).

    The Special Surprise.

    I'm calling it now.

"An extented timetable for PC Players."

Which will translate as the standard timetable doesn't work on Console so we will get a reduced timetable instead.

Unlikely, but I kind of hope the surprise is that they've been granted permission to use the FGW branding

I second this... I hope there will be an official announcement that allows the FGW and GWR branding together! That would be something indeed. But...

I think we should all just see it purely as a grand reveal and not to put any extra expectations on DTG or in our own heads as there's a slight chance you'll end up disappointed. Let's just appreciate the fact the GWE remaster is literally within reaching distance! That is mega exciting in itself.

So hyped for Monday evening just to get the chance to have a in depth glance of it.

I am becoming convinced some people just want to be miserable.

There has been nothing to suggest it has been cancelled, in fact the opposite, I am certain Liam hasn't been working his socks off in his spare time for nothing, why do people invent such things.

On the other hand you have console owners who have a reason to be miserable, they don't tend to come up with weird conspiracy theories though.
