PS4 Nahverkehr Dresden Not Working On Tsw5 Ps4

Friends, good afternoon.

I can no longer play Nahverkehr Dresden - Riesa in TSW5 on PS4.

A few weeks ago I was able to play normally, yesterday I tried to play a job from Dresden, and any job, including walking, that I try to start from Dresden, the game crashes immediately.

Please DTG, urgently return and fix this line, which was launched with many problems in Rush Hour, then became playable in TSW3, then readjusted in TSW4 and was functional until days/weeks ago in TSW5 and now it has died completely.

Yep. This issue on Nahverkehr Dresden exists since the shadows on the tracks on this route were updated. Since then you can only travel between Riesa and Dresden Mitte. Behind Dresden Mitte the game crashes always (at least for me). Idk what happened in this area :/

 

Hello DTG-Chris , thanks for remembering me after a long time.

I just tested it and the same problem persists. When starting from Dresden Hbf, the game crashes. I tested it by starting a service there, and also by appearing on foot or in free mode (without services). They still need to solve it.

I was surprised with Frankfurt-Fulda, which no longer crashes at Frankfurt Hbf. I will continue testing and then I will bring more information about it.

UPDATE: in the service ICE (1651), just after leaving Frankfurt Hbf, after the curve and before the first metal bridge the game crashed. I tested again saving a little earlier and the game froze in the same place, I resumed the game from the last saved point and managed to cross the bridge without any crashes. I will continue testing.

I also identified other recent problems:

On the Arosa line, it is not possible to play the "Alpine Photoshoot" scenario. The game asks you to release the handbrake, and does not fulfill the objective when releasing the handbrake.

The pause menu also changed somewhat suddenly. Before, when pausing while driving a train, the game went to the "Overview" tab, and now it goes to the "options" tab. This is horrible, because it is more practical to see the Overview when driving a locomotive.

I've already tested it without any add-ons, and the problem persists, it started to crash right after some update, possibly on the date I listed. I've already tested the same line on TSW4, and it works normally.

As for Frankfurt, were you able to check that too?

 

I tested it with a new profile, in completely free mode without trains on the line and the problem persists at Dresden Hbf.

 

DTG-Chris For your information, I have opened several tickets in Dovetail support so that you can check the points I mentioned above, in addition to this one in Dresden - Riesa, such as in Frankfurt, Arosa and the pause menu.

I tested it in Version 1.48 on PS4 in Free Roam and unfortunately the problem persists. It can be said that behind Dresden Mitte the game crashes always. This issue exists since the shadows on the tracks were updated.
I'm not a developer and maybe I'm saying wrong things, but it looks to me like some files are corrupted or missing (or something important cannot be loaded). It doesn't look like a performance issue.

That's everything I can say. I hope there is a solution for this in the future.

 

I find it strange that this has been happening since the first report in December, yet there are so few reports about it... I'd almost say your console is no longer the best. I'm curious if others are experiencing this too. Have you checked whether the console is clean from dust and placed somewhere where heat can properly dissipate? So, not in direct sunlight or in a cabinet with little room on the sides?

Tbh, these threads have very often 1-3 replies and then there is absolute silence. And the tips (clean from dust etc.) won't help, because this issue was caused by an update.

Understand how things are, the new version of LIRR would crash a lot at Jamaica Station in TSW4 on the PS4 when arriving, stopping and leaving, and believe me, when TSW5 was released, this problem SIMPLY went away.
Now Dresden Riesa has always had inexplicable crashing problems on the PS4, when it was released in TSW2, the game would crash in Dresden Mitte and the surrounding area when you were returning from Riesa. In TSW3, TSW4 and the launch of TSW5, this problem was gone. After some update, Dresden Hbf inexplicably simply doesn't work.
Now look at the current scenario, it is not possible to start any route from Dresden Hbf, arrive from Riesa, much less access in free mode, which rules out any issue with installed expansions.

You can even say that there are problems with the console, memory issues, overheating, cleaning and the like, but I tested Frankfurt Fulda, which is much heavier and I know that the PS4 still doesn't run perfectly, but I accessed Frankfurt Hbf in free mode, but when I tried to put any loco in it, it wouldn't let me due to lack of memory. In the latest update it is now possible to play, with a crash near the first metal bridge, but saving and going back it is possible to play.
In other words, it is clear that there are problems with optimization, processing, or something like that, because with one update it works and with another it stops working, this cannot happen...

 

It's not that I wouldn't believe you but more that there are no other reports of it. You would think that many more would report it at least that sounds logical. Now there are less than 5 people who have written something here......
So I do not judge but I have a problem providing clarity, hence my call for clarity

 

It crashes by me too but also on the Maintalbahn in Aschaffenburg and on the Frankfurt- Fulda Route. I have opened a ticket by Dovetail Support and the Workaround and Tips they had in the answer don’t have fixed the problem for me.

 

DTG-Chris Just passing by to remind you that the problem at Dresden Hbf is not limited to "Dresden Riesa" but also to "Dresden - Chemnitz"(Nahverkehr Dresden / Tharandter Rampe)

 

I can totally confirm that Nahverkehr Dresden is not working anymore on TSW5 on PS4 for nearly 8 months (I'm on PS4 Pro, so I never had performance issues on this very track before, it was running fine on TSW4 for me). No matter if running it as only addon installed, or with my 30 other tracks installed, or even with additional liveries or scenarios installed, it would work flawlessly in 2024 for me on TSW4. Since summer 2025 or so, on TSW5, it will always crash in the Dresden HBF and Dresden Mitte area. So that part of the track has become completely unplayable, no matter if in timetable mode or in Free Roam mode. Which turns the entire addon useless, as nearly all scenarios or timetables either start at Dresden HBF, or end there. So you will get a crash in 100% of cases. Too bad, because it was my favorite track!

Moreover, since summer 2025 on TSW5 on PS4 (Pro), Kinzigtalbahn will always crash on the very bridge leading into or out of Frankfurt HBF. Which also makes the addon unplayable and useless.

Which is absolutely hilarious. This is clearly no performance problem or memory issue. It even happens with extra layers turnt off, or with other addons uninstalled.

Instead of pushing new TSW versions or new content, rather fix the existing stuff, which we have all paid plenty of money for, and want to even use at all!!

(Side fact: With all those issues and bugs going on, I am not interested in upgrading into TSW6 at all, because as a PS4 Pro user, there is no benefit, but only loss. I'd end up with less layers and less traffic and less content than in TSW5 on my console! And I'd loose Peninsula Corridor + its extra DLCs, which is also one of my favorite tracks, despite being older. And I had even been hesitating to swap to TSW5. Sometimes I wished, I would never have done so, seen all the bugs and problems which you are NOT even fixing on existing DLCs!!!).

After seeing and reading, that this isn't even the only addon being affected, and that I'm not the only one being affected by this, I am shocked. The Dresden area in Tharandter Rampe might even also be affected, but I didn't have time yet to test this yet on TSW5. And I'm even afraid of re-testing my other DLCs even on TSW5... Because I own all German tracks, except for those which will unfortunately never be released for the PS4 users... Plus many foreign DLCs as well.

If I had known that there would be so many bugs and crashes, I wouldn't have invested the money into several of these DLCs, be sure.

I am eagerly waiting for those things to be fixed! And I am certainly not purchasing anything again, if it isn't even working!

PS: I couldn't care less about shadow updates or whatever, if it totally breaks my content!!

 

Did you try it already in TSW6? TSW5 do not get any updates anymore, as it as end of life, but there is a chance it's fixed in TSW6.

 

There better be fixes for TSW5, as people have purchased it in order to run it with all "compatible" DLCs as intended and promised by Dovetails. Otherwise it's simple fraud for the money people have paid! And no, as I wrote, I am not going to get or use or invest even more money into TSW6 on PS4, for the reasons I already explained.

As I said: Instead of pushing new sims or new content, fix your existing products FIRST, on all platforms you sold them for!

 

While not the OP, I am here to say it fixed in TSW6 on the PS4

 

TSW5 will not get updates anymore. TSW6 Starter pack was free to download for a limited period of time, and as trpted mentioned already, it seems to be fixed in TSW6. I'm not defending DTG's practices in any way of form, but this it how it works.

 

I can also confirm that the issues on Nahverkehr Dresden (Dresden Hbf - Dresden Mitte) and Maintalbahn (Aschaffenburg Hbf) are fixed in TSW6. The routes are working well now.

 

I resignated and purchased TSW6 on PS4, just to be able to play my older tracks again, without issues.

 

It's sad you had to buy it, they better make the starter pack free for unlimited amount of time. But for the next game, make sure you claim the free starter pack.
