This station is small besides the world longest name of a small village. Lianfair P.G. (Abbrev.) has nothing to offer furthermore but a (souvenir) shop next to the station.

Although an old local lady dressed accordingly entered the coach I drove (work), took the microphone and pronounced the full name in the Welsh language of that village for the group I brought to that famous spot. No one in the coach could repeat her and that was real fun to experience. I love the Victorian station and stairway across the railroad track connecting the platforms.

    York. Definitely York!

Huge station with a grand curved roof, adjacent to the Railway Museum, the ROC and depots/sidings.. and as others have said, on a junction.

A historic Newcastle would top that though!

Of course, if one posesses the funds available, one can utilize luxury chauffeur service known as the 93 bus!

When I was working there at the turn of the centuary, the British Steel works had 70 miles of track and a heritage line! I doubt DTG would want to add that in, but as you suggest, it could be an off map generator of traffic.

I want to see Shrewsbury in the game, it’s a major station in the West Midlands and home to the largest mechanical signal box in the world. Not to mention, it’s still has semaphores in use!

I’d love to see the station done in both steam and modern eras, but the former is probably unlikely… despite the perfect route suggestion for steam era Shrewsbury being my signature :D

Welsh Marches: Shrewsbury - Newport would be my nomination for a more recent iteration with TfW 175s, 158s and 150s. We won’t mention those tacky 197s, eh? ;)

if they did that the great rail centre of Barnetby could be included, would have to be set before the early 90s to ensure the station buildings were there.

Agree with Kings Cross, York, Newcastle and Bristol Temple Meads but Birmingham Moor Street in first gen days would be very nice too!

SEHS, free roam on foot and walk along track towards the ECML, you’ll be able to get between the fence north of Gasworks tunnel on the right hand side and drop down to track. Spawn a locomotive (in my case Class 08) but spawn it behind you otherwise you won’t be able to get in to the cab (walking south). Drive through Gasworks tunnel and in to Kings Cross Station and though the wall at the end. The tracks lead you outside to the front of Kings Cross.

10 years ago or so Trainz had that route and it was pretty much all I played. It had the branch to Barton upon Humber too. I’d love to see it in TSW one day.

Forgive the ignorance, but Waterloo isn't on the Baterloo line?
I do believe Charing Cross is on there too.
    And Paddington.

Now I get that the Underground is..well.. underground.
But at least they ARE in the game =-)

I haven't really mucked about to see if you can walk up to the upper levels though.
I doubt it since why model levels that don't have any active trains on them?
Another argument for more London Underground/Overground routes.

I always liked the Shrewsbury station, that old castle looking thing. Not sure if it's "iconic." I think for "iconic" many peoples' first experience with a "British" railways station was in the Harry Potter movies. I think that was King's Cross wasn't it? Before the rennovations?

You can't unfortunately, I don't think you can actually go further than the deep level platforms on the Bakerloo Line.

I would be pretty cool if there was a hidden route in TSW. That would be one heck of an "easter egg". It took 5 years for anyone to find out that Charing Cross to Hastings (circa 1987) has been secretly available in TSW, but only if you can find an escalator in the tube station.

Underground stations built by different companies to serve the mainline stations. I suppose you'll next be saying there's no need to suggest the SEML as Dover is in the game.
    You can't.
    Excuse me?

I was joking. Unless you're asking me to keep it quiet as you've also found it.

Yep, although famously in the book series the author confused King’s Cross with Euston, and in the second film they show the exterior of St. Pancras. King’s Cross platforms do feature quite heavily though, as does the IC225!

Stourbridge Town could be considered to be iconic, the train (if it can be called that) which serves it certainly has become so and it is the shortest revenue earning passenger branch line.

I'd love to see Shrewsbury in, some platforms are over the River Severn, and there is also the wonderful Severn Junction signal box - the largest one still in operation!

Kings Cross is just distant scenery in SEHS. It’s not in the game properly. There is track there but it’s not fully modelled.

I used to live near the line between Sunny Scunny and Barnetby in the early 90s. My older sisters used to have to cycle up Elsham hill to get to Barnetby station to get the train to Grimsby college.
Elsham had a station but was rarely used. There was the level crossing there too but not sure if it's now automatically controlled. The signal box was still there last time I drove that way.

EMR Dogboxes (class 153s) are used on the Barton line now.

I believe Colas use Barnetby sidings for some of their freight services.

There's not a lot of rail traffic to Scunny steel works these days and Lindsey refinery near Immingham has now closed I believe.

I travelled on the line between Donny and Scunny a lot between 2000 and 2006. Back then it was TPE 158s (purple livery with the gold N) and Arriva Trains Northern/Northern Spirit serving the line.

If the route was set in the 80s then you could also include the coal mine at Hatfield.
