So far I’ve bought a couple of extra routes but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of other traffic on the routes. if you buy new trains, will they only show up on routes they’re featured on or will they appear on any route you may have. along with that, can you use a bought train on any route you have? Will they appear as available trains or do you have to spawn them somewhere? Am I missing anything here? TIA
Unfortunately dipping your toes into TSW can require a bit of homework when it comes to ensuring you have other DLC that'll appear in another route's timetable. There's many of us in here who can assist with any questions relating to a specific area/era. So long as the other form of traction suits the gauge and power source then you should be able to spawn it in free roam into a route by pointing at an empty section of track and pressing "TAB" That's for a PC, someone who has a console can probably help with how it's done on them things.
Thx. I’ve a ps4. Will enabling all layers kill performance or am I best doing it on a route by route basis? Would a newer ps5 help with performance? I don’t want to waste money buying stuff that’s of no use. TIA.
A PS5 will definitely improve performance and unlock a lot of layers and in some cases entire routes.
You will be cursing this game shortly. Whilst at the same time spending vast amounts of money on DLC and maybe even new hardware. Welcome to the club!!!
Yes, PS4 is outdated hardware now at this point. I would upgrade to a PS5 asap since support for PS4 is coming to an end soon from Sony. PS5 games only going forward.
A bit of exaggeration there, common occurrence on this forum, but absolutely true regarding expenses...
Cheers folks.. any hobby costs an arm and a leg.. I spent a fortune on FS years ago… I’ve got 7 harmonicas, mic and an amp.. and now this…. Mrs wasn’t smiling when I mentioned a new PlayStation… lol This is like fs without the landing and taking off
Sure is Talking of hobbies, my other passion/hobby is music (rhythm games). I’ve been playing since the very first Guitar hero game way back in 2008/9. Over the years I’ve spent thousands towards it, with the 40-50 guitar controllers, ion drummer rocker than upgrading to a TD-9 Roland e-kit, than all the dlc I’ve bought (I bought it all). Song’s started off cheap at like 89p for RBN songs and official RB songs at £1.29, increasing to £1.69. I owned around 3500+ dlc since RB1. I never bought much dlc for GH as preferred Rock band, although I did play every main entry in GH series. GH Metallica and Warriors of rock were my favourites. Now I firmly play on PC were I can play any and every song every released for free. I don’t feel guilty with the money I’ve spend over the years
I think I tried GH once years ago… I’d no idea it was as involved as all that… I’m way too ham fisted and impatient to get that good which is why my harp playing sounds more like a cross between a scalded cat banshee on steroids.. it’s mostly very Eric Morecambe… Al the right notes but not necessarily in the right order..
I envy you since at least you can say you know how to play a real instrument. How long have you been playing the harp for? I did a bit of drumming in school and tried learning guitar on Rocksmith, the guitar failed, but drumming I’m more competent at, although I still rely on the game to tell me what notes to hit. Could I play a song blind or by ear, I very much doubt it. If it was simple like a song say “Song 2 by Blur” with a very basic structure with little to no drum fills then possibly I wanted to give Rocksmith another try, but I noticed they delisted Rocksmith 2014 from the steam store and now it’s a subscription service (greedy Ubisoft) so I’m not going there. With the 2014 edition you could import custom songs, so I wouldn’t have had to spend a penny.
I’ve been trying to play for about 6 years but I don’t practice anywhere near enough.. it makes me feel very self conscious.. so I don’t play much if anyone can hear.. there’s nothing worse than playing and thinking someone listening wishes you weren’t.. lol… I couldn’t play a song by ear either… I’d love to be able to play the drums but that’s never going to happen… lol.. I can play a few songs even though with an ageing memory it takes a while for things to stick… I thought I’d try the harp as looked easy.. classic mistake.. apparently it’s hard to pla well and very easy to play badly…
