I've installed the base pack and the branding patch, but the majority of the containers are showing these bright missing textures for some reason. The only ones that aren't affected are the 45ft ones. Before I email AP about it, is there something I'm doing wrong?
I see that "DTG EWS Class 92" and "DTG South Western Main Line: Southampton to Bournemouth" are essential requirements. Do you have them both installed? Can't help further because the Container Wagon EP is just about the only AP product I don't have.
I don't have it either, but I think that an expansion pack that requires two base DLCs is an unwelcome development.
From their web site: "This pack enhances the FEA-B & KTA wagons from DTG South Western Main Line: Southampton to Bournemouth & the IKA 'Megafret' wagons from DTG EWS Class 92; allowing you to broaden the scope of your intermodal workings and to simulate them more accurately." It seems pretty logical to me that if you want to expand the wagons provided with those routes, you need the originals! John
It was the need for two payware DLCs to work, that I was flagging. I understand that an expansion pack needs a base pack to expand on.
I think its because they use two different wagons - it you only have one the reskin would not work I agree £10 is a bit much for a repaint
I do have both, and both are ticked. I'll check it in the included scenario though since maybe I've set the wagons up wrong.
I tested the scenario and they work fine in that. In my own scenario, when I try to specify a container by adding ;C1=7 (as an example) the container simply doesn't appear at all.
The manual says there are only up to three locations on a wagon depending on where you want it to sit on the wagon Tanktainers are often not seen in prototypical consists so will not appear unless you add ;C1=T to the wagon number. You must use a blueprint with a - 1 suffix for this. If using a ‘20ft x3’ variant, add ;C1=T, ;C2=T or ;C3=T depending on where you would like the tanktainer to be located.
The ;CT=x command is meant to specify the type. T is one of them, but you can add numbers instead to get specific normal containers. At least that's how I think it should be. 7 should spawn the P&O container on the 2000s one, but it shows nothing.
Do you just willfully not read the product page? To call this pack a "repaint" is ignorant. Would you have preferred they split the pack into two instead then?
No, I would have preferred them to have done it as a standalone pack. Or better still, since there are already good quality container wagons in TSC, not to have done it at all and put their efforts into a Class 47 or Class 08/09 expansion pack; for which - in my opinion - there is greater need and better sales.
The fact that you see a container but it is without textures suggests to me that a) you have the original required product for that, and b) confirms the *.geocpdx shape file is in the correct place for the new containers. Therefore it seems to me that it has nothing to do with the requirements but is purely a missing texture. Assuming you have re-run the installer (just in case) I don't think you have any choice but to contact Mr Powerhouse, who I have always found very amenable and helpful with support requests - unlike many other developers. John
I don't really see the problem with the price. It's updating three wagon types which haven't really been touched before and might not have even had AP sounds from the wagon sound packs. Considering most AP wagon packs are £6 (and the FSA container wagon pack is double that), I'm updating three types of wagon that I've owned for years for a very small price. No doubt I'd be paying close to double the price of the EP if they made the three wagons from scratch. Although I don't really see what other container wagons they could put in a volume 2. Maybe whatever the Kuju container wagons were? And of course, just because it says volume 1 doesn't mean there's another coming soon. The Mark 1 Volume 2 pack hasn't come out and maybe never will.
UPDATE: I have fixed the issue. While the pack lists the Class 92 and Southampton to Bournemouth as requirements, it seems that the FSA wagon pack is also required for the container textures. As soon as I installed the updated version of the pack with the new containers, it fixed it for the Container Wagon EP. When Mr Powerhouse replies to my support email, I'll send him this and hopefully it can be sorted.
You don't seem to understand what I was saying. The issue being stated was the fact there are two requirements for one pack. So I was asking whether they would prefer Volume 1 was split into two to retain only having one requirement per pack. Any future Volume 2 of the Container Wagon Enhancement Pack is irrelevant to the argument.
Such a standalone pack would have taken much longer surely and eaten into development time that could have been put towards your requested 08 or 47? Surely an enhancement pack makes more sense then to get a similar benefit for much less time/cost and they can then move on to more 'big ticket' items. Who exactly doesn't own the Southampton - Bournemouth route and 92 as well? They are available at bargain bucket prices every DTG sale.
I said I thought it would have been better if they hadn't made it, and instead used their time and talents to do a 08 or 47 EP. If you and others enjoy it that's good, but I think AP have lost their way recently and produced nothing that I feel like buying.
Just because a DLC is in the Sales does not mean people will buy it I have the Class 92 as I like Electric locos but I don't have Soton-Bomo as its modern and plain and it did not give me any DLC that I did not have
So just because they are being sold cheap in a sale that makes this pack worthwhile then ??? What if people no interest in said products on sale.
