It makes sense they wouldn't have an "update" to share if it's been sitting in DTG's hands.
Some of it is QC, but mostly I think it's just timing. You can't keep releasing content one on top of another or new content may cannibalize other stuff being sold. If it came out today for example, the other route out this week would compete for money.
Same reason studios don't release all their movies at once.
You have to hype and push people to buy them one after another spread out.

Why is someone to blame? I suspect that there will be a queue to blame DTG but if it turned out to be something of JT's making that queue would disappear and everything would be fine.

How do you know that JT didn't say to DTG the Preston to Crewe route can be announced now?

I don't see why it matters, it is clearly in developement if it comes next week or next December I don't see the problem. Give them time to get it right, we all know the hullabaloo there would be on here if it got released too early.

When there are no announcements for a period it is a problem, when something is announced, that then becomes a problem. The fickleness of this forum is crazy sometimes.

Sorry I wasn't meaning to come across in that way at all! You're totally right it doesn't matter at all and insinuating fault like that was a poor choice of words so have removed my comment :)

I just mean as it has been in the 0-3 months since August something must have changed as I thought we'd be getting a few more bits ramping is up similar to BPO and WCMLOS. Especially now that the Cumbrian route has been announced and shifted the focus, it all seems a little oddly placed. If things have needed to be moved around then that's fine, if they need more time then great go for it. But we also know that's there's been a massive backlog with the DTG QA process from AAS and JT so I don't think it's wrong to speculate that could be the cause or to discuss that. Because the QA backlog lead to a lot of issues with new content releasing in TSW6 without TSW6 features. :)

Not everything is a complaint, although I can accept that my poor choice of words could've made it seem that way. But I'm sure JT will do a great job as they always do and I can't wait for the updates to drop in as I'm really excited for this one!

I suppose one possibility is that JT have expanded and have more than one team working on route and train building. Could explain where the people working on the TSC Highland Main Line project were redeployed to. Though that said, are these people employed directly by JT or are they simply a loose consortium of individuals making the content in their spare time, with JT primarily just the publisher?

JT being part of JustFlight, which hired one average person during FY23-4 so they definitely expanded

    Looks like FTEs?
    "Full Time Equivalents"?
So might be full time or not as long as it adds up to the equivalent of 24 "full time" employees.

I am looking forward to this route, especially the updated class 20's and 47, I am sure there will be some news soon. I must admit I am even more looking forward to the Cumbrian route, especially getting another first generation DMU.

They will release it when it’s finished and ready to go. They have proved their quality with past offerings so they will get plenty of our money with their £32.99 release. My wallet is waiting as usual.

Given there's no Roadmap until February, unless we get a standalone pre release presentation I certainly can't see any of the *bublbling under" titles releasing until March at the earliest.

Allows time to reinflate my Steam Wallet balance!

I suspect its caught up in the DTG QA backlog which wont be helped by the Seasonal shutdown.

Sorry to come back to this so late... I was messing around on foot at Preston with the sleeper services and noticed that Euston/Inverness service, 1S25, started just before Preston at a red signal.... at first I thought it was a timetable bug until the signal on platform 3 changed from amber and then green and then the train ran straight through the platform. I went back into timetable and it starts at a red signal like 2 signals before Preston, and then you drive non-stop to Carlisle

My point with this is that with JT implementing that, I reckon that there's a good chance that some of the services that stop at Preston but not at Crewe might actually be playable by being held at a red signal briefly before Crewe. I'm obviously speculating but that would be awesome to have an IC service that you can thrash through Crewe with.

I would love that too, but you have people who say "we won't do that, every service should be started on foot, ie from a platform" (seen on this forum)... :|

thing is with starting on foot every service on the JT routes starts at 0MPH and dose have some weird results, compared with doing a service from the menu. i cannot be sure if this is a JT related issue or one that can found through all routes, from all developers. but starting on foot on shap route has caused some issues in the past.

Yeah I suggested something similar quite a while back, just have them start/stop a bit further south alongside Basford Hall (since that's going to be modelled anyway). I think the freight services for WCMLSouth start just outside MK for the same reason. Though to be honest, I would prefer they start/end at a red signal on the through roads, a more logical crew change point ;)

I don't think I can hold on until March, especially as I've got leave booked for the start of March and I know JT love to release their DLC days after I finish my leave and have to go back to work :/

Does anyone have an idea when we might be given some more info about the (hopefully) impending release of this route? No news is good news, but in this case the radio silence is making me nervous. Obviously I (and JT) would like it released as close to bug free as possible, but even an indication of its progress would be most welcome. Keeping me on tenterhooks for what is for me the most highly anticipated release ever for TSW, is draining me! :D

Sometime in the future. Anyone saying anything more precise is simply guessing.
Calm down, no news just means no news.
JT publish a development blog whenever there's anything new to say on progress. That's as close to a running commentary as you're going to get.
    ...is the right answer.:)

You are of course correct though if we look at the difference between the development blog for Shap vs Preston-Crewe there is a massive contrast, Shap was almost fortnightly with detailed looks at the stations along the route as well as the occasional bit on the rolling stock, P2C however is a lot quieter. I'm not worried, perhaps they let their "blogger" go or redirected them onto another project. Though I'm sure that I and many others would be happy to see a new screenshot every few weeks. The only real "concern" is that based on the roadmap it is now overdue by a couple of months, hopefully it's just the JT team giving it a good polish or adding last minute bits :)

The tell-tale sign that the release is a few weeks away would be when TrainSim TV start doing their preview streams, given that they have been involved in the creation and development of those routes they really like to showcase them in the buildup, so far there's nothing so it's not as close as we'd hoped.

Those TSTV streams do work wonders though, if I hadn't have stumbled on their previews of Blackpool Branches I'd never have bought TSW4 and stuck with TSC...
